  1. hmm. I didn't believe it when I saw it the first time in someone else's post with TJ pinning someone down trying to take off his pants or something. And now ... I don't know if TJ is suitable for leading this family oriented site anymore ... ahh my eyes! LOL
  2. Congrats Cliff! That's a beautiful looking brute! Carole doesn't look too happy after she finds out that her 2nd carp was a small one too lol. The bigger carp doesn't seem to put up such an acrobatic fight, they seem to just hold their ground out in the water and not move much. JohnnyBass: Alot of carpers use braid as the "hooklink"(leader) for several reasons ... 1) little/no stretch, helps drive the hook into the fish when it takes off on the hair rig. 2) snaggy area/area full of zebra mussels, helps with abrasion resistent ... 3) thin diameter on higher lb-test, less detectable by the fish. .... Although flurocarbon can also achieve the same with abrasion resistent, the lb-test carpers use are usually too thick.
  3. Nice fish Stoty!
  4. Nice bass and a beautiful tiger-ski!
  5. I'll try to make it this time around as well! I agree with Brian (misfish) though, maybe we can go somewhere else? Depending on where everyone's located, we can find somewhere that's closer, especially for ya GCD.
  6. I would be more concerned with the safety issue than getting charged/ticketed. When you say "seating capacity", does that mean the number of seats there are? or does it actually have anything to do with the weight capacity of the boat? I'd think as long as you're under the weight cap., you would have no problem.
  7. Great report and nice fish Cliff! I have a few "rod holders" made out of PVC pipes on my boat and I should be able to put in a beach umbrella. Still gotta figure out a way to keep it down/secure in case of some wind but it might be a cheap way to get some shade.
  8. Keep going at'em and you'll get one soon time ... I went to Balsam on Sunday for Bass and I hooked into 2 of them with chartuese spinnerbaits, didn't land them though, one snapped my line somehow (not sure if it bite through my line or not, was using 40lb braid but no leader, i was going for bass) and the other one just spit the lure on a jump. My girlfriend also hooked into one and fought it for about a minute ... that one went for the tiny piece of worm she had on her bait holder hook, she said it nailed her hook when she was bringing her rig back to the boat lol.
  9. Some very nice pictures! It sure is a beautiful place over there, thanks for sharing with us!
  10. Wow! Can't get much better than that! I'm guessing you guys probably made 50,000 casts that day Congrats on a great day! Thanks for sharing.
  11. Looks like a nice day to be on the river with a few friends, and some fish to boot!
  12. i'm not sure if common carp (what we have in all our waters) will be able to keep the weeds down. However, grass carp is an invasive specie and it is illegal to transport a live grass carp.
  13. Some nice bass Brian & Terry! It's such a sad sight to see all those floating carp...
  14. A report with pics and fish! Haven't seen that for a while now TJ ! Camp's looking good and some nice fish. Congrats to Monique on the big pike! Thanks for sharing!
  15. Some nice Largies UF! So you got the camera stand installed too eh? Pics look great!
  16. Thanks for the report Jedi. That perch is pretty big!
  17. nice fish! The bass Brent is holding looks pretty skinny for their length
  18. Great read as always John! Lets see some fish pics next time!
  19. hmm... wet dream lol. That one was real wet. Good to hear that you got'er fixed and got to do some fishing ... it just sucks getting everything prepped and your mind ready to go fishing only to find out you can't get into the water after driving to the launch.
  20. Sounds like a fun day on the opener! That's some THICK weeds right there lol ... the fish probably couldn't even see the bait haha
  21. Great report joey! Really Really nice pictures too!!
  22. Congrats on a great day with a mixed bag of species!
  23. Apparently people who go by barometric pressure says that it goes up before/during a storm and turns on the fish ... after the storm has passed, pressure drops and the action would slow down ... However, if there's thunder ... you'd be better off staying home i guess ...
  24. Everyone's subjected to have their own opinions and ideas on this as long as it's not violating any regs. So i'm not arguing who's right or wrong here, just giving my ideas ... There are many reasons why people fish for carp; A couple of them would be ... 1) they are everywhere, they can tolerate tougher environments relative to other gamefish. 2) their average size is fairly big. 3) they put up quite a good fight most of the time. 4) you can easily get 10 15lb+ fish within a few hours on a good day ... and there are many more It is true that more and more people fish for them in the city nowadays but many also travel great distances for carp. Because of the great carp fishery we have here in Ontario, many European anglers come here for a week every year just to fish. It might be true that carp isn't great tasting to many people (I do not eat them either), but many people fish for the sport and not for food.
