  1. Would love to do that man, it's quite hard to find time this summer though ... lots to do around the house, lots of water to fish, too many species to go after and too little time... but if i do have a weekend that's free I'll be sure to let you know. If I do get the access to a car this fall, I can drive over to guelph and fish with ya, going back to school at Waterloo in Sept. Or if you do have a car, you can come over to the grand.
  2. i'm no muskie fisherman but I've caught numerous pike on the mepps musky killer ... was hoping to hook into one but ended up catching pike. That lure should be alright for your setup, can be retrieved at a variable speed and won't break the bank. i'm sure many others will say, make sure you have the proper landing/safety tools to protect you and the fish. Good luck!
  3. You know what Kemper, I considered you to be a friend. After reading that ... ... ... ... lol i'm joking. Great job in hooking into them though ... I have no idea why but everytime I try hard to fish specifically for them, they don't seem to bite (just like the last time you saw me). It isn't that easy to entice them to hit a grub ... haha don't worry about the slime, now go get yourself a biggun on the other end of the line!
  4. you've been nailing the crappie quite hard lately Jedi! Scugog is a tough lake to figure out where the fish are ... it almost seems like nothing swims there the last time I went. Nice report!
  5. fishnsled's fish is REALLY long! Congrats to Bly on yet another PB! Nice report!
  6. She's a keeper for sure. I think I'll start a thread on "how to find a fishing girlfriend/wife?" soon lol. My girlfriend only likes trips where we pull in fish after fish ... haha. Thanks for the report and some nice smallies there!
  7. welcome aboard. There are actually lots and lots of fishing spots in and around Toronto, especially for carp and pike plus the salmon during the run. Search up "Urban Fishing Opportunities" in the MNR site and they've got some info. It's great that your son is enjoying it out there, even only with a couple fish. I actually think that it's a good way to start, if he starts off catching fish after fish the first trip, that's what he'll expect for future trips. Don't worry, you guys will nail them next time! Looking forward to your next report with your son with more fish in the boat!
  8. The scenery and the color of the water there is just stunning. You'll have a great time for sure. I didn't do much fishing when I went, stopped by a creek mouth in the Wiarton area and the locals told me people fish there for trout in september. As the others said, you're probably better off sticking with the inland lakes. Good luck and let us know how you make out!
  9. Nice report MTP! You'll get into'em next time! Everytime I see someone sleep like that with their mouth open ... I'm so tempted to stuff something in 8-) ... lol
  10. now that's a nice slab! Congrats on the PB Jedi! Sounds like a nice day to get a mixed bag of fish in a couple of hours
  11. Thanks yellowboat, also thank you to those who have sent me PMs. I'm still open for suggestions
  12. Great pics and beautiful fish lew!
  13. Hi everyone, Found out yesterday that my dad's free to do a camping/fishing trip this sat/sun. I know it's very last minute planning considering that it is the Canada day weekend ... have checked out quite a few provincial parks and they're fully booked. Does anyone know of anywhere there's crown land I can camp on? Or other privately owned campground which might have availability? We don't need a serviced campground. This trip will be more focused on fishing so the campground is just a place to stay for the night, it would be nice to be right next to the water or at least very close water access. I'll be bringing my 14' tinny. Since we're only going for one night, I'm hoping to drive no more than 2 hours, trying to maximize time on the water. I have seen many small islands while out on a few kawartha lakes, they don't seem to be privately owned ... can I camp on one of those? Does anyone have experience camping on one? Thanks in advance, please PM me if you do not wish to put the information on here. Victor
