  1. I listed my boat here for a couple of weeks without a sniff (guess we all have boats!). Put it on Kijiji and sold it with in a couple of days.
  2. fish taste gross, I don't keep any
  3. wow this is coincidental. I just turned on my computer to get the directions Misfish pm'ed me a few days ago to a launch for Gloucester Pool and I see this thread. We will be after pike tomorrow, not those pesky walleyes. Hopefully I'll have something to report although the negative reviews here are starting to scare me! There is a small chance we fish GBay out from Waubashene instead. I'd like to say what kind of boat I'll be in but I'm going with a friend and we're using his boat. I believe it is a Ranger(?) but not sure. I am sure its wwwaaaaayyyy bigger and better than mine. Lets try this, if you do Gloucester Pool Saturday and see 3 guys in a Ranger come say hello
  4. I've fished there once (many years ago). We just drove around til we found a place to launch, wasn't a problem as there were a few options as I recall. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.
  5. after a 2 year absence I hope to be back at Lakair this year. My plan is to arrive late wed eve or early Thurs morning, and then leave after my victory in the Crapola cup pike tourney! Got a patch of dirt booked for my tent, but more importantly, a spot for the boat
  6. Whole lot of heart, not the most talented is how I remember Zezel. Pretty sure he was #25 playing alongside Mark Osborne and Ed Olczyk. Every time he went into the corners the play-by-play guys would talk about his soccer skills as he mucked around trying to get the puck out! I don't remember yesterday but I remember those dang soccer references every Saturday night!
  7. good for you, sounds like you're having some success!
  8. Is the transducer pointing straight down? On an angle will cause problems. Is it a speed issue? IE going to fast transducer might get above water line. Bubbles from the motor or weeds on the transducer can also cause failure.
  9. that lake is full of snotrocket pike. If you're happy catching them you should have a great day! Last time I was there we caught 27 pike in the 2-4 pound range but none of any size. Some good size bass in there but they are out of season.
  10. get into deeper water, lots of units don't work well in minimal depths
  11. too bad about the fishing. There are all kinds of small lakes up that way. If canoe is your means of transportation you might want to explore a few smaller bodies of water. Those little out of the way lakes the fish are almost always cooperating
  12. good job. One word of advice...unhook the fish before posing for photo. Its safer for you so you don't get stung, and better for the fish because if it takes a long time to remove hooks, you could always skip the photo so that the fish will live
  13. show me a sheephead that isn't butt ugly! Nice job guys, looks like a great day

    MUSKIE

you beat me to it pigeontroller. Vertical hold on the 52 inch musky over 30 pounds....not good. As far as the OOS pic, I think I would also take a photo if I caught a 52 incher, just being honest.
  15. I have fished sparrow a couple of times with moderate to poor results. Although I'm sure many would disagree, its not high on my list of places to go back to. I've had enough positive experiences in nearby lakes (ie Kahshe, Muskoka) that I'm in no rush to go back to Sparrow
  16. mmmmm.....tub of muuusskkyyyyyyyyy. St. Clair, why do you have to be so far away from me!
  17. go get 'em credit01 and say hello to msbruno while you're there!
  18. very nice...don't think my wife would allow it in the house... but nice nonetheless!
  19. some nice looking pike Larry, but that fish in your avatar would have 'em for breakfast, that thing is a monster. Congrats on the new boat
  20. great story! I have never tried that with a pike but good to hear it works. To be honest, most times (other than Saturday afternoon at Lakair :D ) I try to pull the lure away from the little buggers if I can! I have had them jump clear out of the water and grab my lure from mid air though, kind of like a flying figure 8 you might say.
  21. I had a pretty bouncy ride launching there with my celica but got out in one piece. The only other launch I'm aware of is "myland" up in the northwest corner. Been years since I fished there so not sure about the $$$$
  22. I'm with hometownhandyman. Worst case scenario is they say forget it. Maybe call other dealerships and they will match (or better) your original agreement.
  23. you or I wouldn't have to pay anything more, just the guy who can afford a boat. If a $3000 boat is "valued" at $2000, you would still get double the amount of tax than the $1000 bogus claim submitted. If the boater can't afford the extra $50 in tax he/she shouldn't be buying in the first place. The increase in revenue from people paying a legitimate amount of tax would more than pay for the book and keep lots of people employed. How costly could it actually be anyways? I know they have such a thing for cars already (pretty sure my taxes didn't go up when they made that book) and I've never heard anyone cry about the cost of keeping that book updated. now you're talking!
  24. I'm not concerned about things being traced, I guess I'm more concerned that we brag about how we cheat the system and think its alright because "nobody got hurt". If this is the way things work, they need to change the system. Have a "book" value for something, and charge taxes based on that amount rather than the bogus receipts everyone is submitting.
  25. you do realize that is illegal...kind of like cheating on your taxes. Although I'm sure most people do it, you might not want to broadcast it. When I bought my boat the guy selling it to me offered to do the same (undervalue the receipt). When I told him to write it out for the full amount he thought I was absolutely insane...all kinds of excuses about how much the government takes from us already etc etc.
