  1. Can't give you any specifics, but I did nail a 9 pounder out there last year trolling a gigantor musky bait off of a rocky point. Fished below the chute earlier this year and buddy got a 9 pounder in gloucester pool while we were pike fishing! Unusally big fish for those waters I would say. I have fished that stretch 2 times this year and the fishing has been so-so. Likely my next trip will be to a different spot
  2. looks a little choppy! nice looking pike, but based on the size of your net you're ready for something much bigger!
  3. lots of visible structure (weedbeds/edges) so not a tough place to at least find the "community" spots.
  4. zoinks, what a brute!
  5. well said Chris! Great to see everyone again...and great to be runner up in the pike tourney (pretty sure that's my 3rd time being a "bridesmaid")
  6. hmmm not too sure about muskies up that way other than rosseau, kahshe, sparrow but I don't think they are even that close
  7. Fantastic report, nice to finally meet the two of you. We had no luck on the muskies in my boat, glad to hear you guys had success! Hopefully we'll see you next year
  8. Welcome Luc. As you have likely read, we were also at Nipissing last week. I caught a sheephead just like that one on a "Nitro" which is a 5 ounce glider musky bait about 8 inches long. Thought I'd hooked a musky until the ol sheephead showed its ugly mug! They do put up a good fight at least!
  9. good to see you again Maureen. We gotta do something about that tent though! Looks a little "cozy" even for 1.
  10. hahaha that won't be necessary against this motley crew. I'll probably stick around at the docks and have some lunch for the first hour of the tourney just to give everyone a fair chance
  11. For those of you I don't know, I'll be the guy holding the Crayola Cup Saturday afternoon (yes, I do enjoy a bit of fishing trash talk)
  12. And so begins the exodus of OFC'er's to the West Arm (although I'm sure there are a few already up there inflicting sore mouths). I'm leaving late tonight, arriving early Thursday morning after a pit stop in Parry Sound. Been a couple of years since I could make this g2g, have to say I have been looking forward to this for some time.
  13. good stuff, a nice looking fish. 4 hits in a day is good anywhere, and I understand LSC wouldn't be unusual to do better than that
  14. good stuff! I'd guess thats a 5 to 5.5 pound smallie. We catch them in our lake like that too (20-21 inches and fat) but I've never weighed one before. The best fishing at our lake is also at the end of our dock...doesn't hurt that I've tossed 50 good-sized rocks down there to improve the odds! Nice fish
  15. good stuff, hopefully in a week there are a lot more reports of west arm muskies!
  16. A child that sleeps in is the best Father's Day present!
  17. I loved him in "Back to School" when he would yell at the students, then good old Rodney (no Respect) Dangerfield gave him the answer he was looking for
  18. count on me for a couple of breakfasts but for the rest I should be fine
  19. Why fix what isn't broken? Kevin and Leslie are great hosts, the fishing is great (and not just pike), I believe nipissing is reasonably well known for its pickerel (and under-rated) bass fishing. Personally, other than a few hours on Saturday, I'm only after musky. With so many OFC'ers attending each year, you'd think if people weren't very satisfied this event would have been moved long ago. I say it stays right where it is, and if you can't be bothered to find out for yourself why we host it there its your loss.
  20. I only get out about 10 times a year and I can't recall any really rainy days (lots of snowy ones though, and muskies seem to like them!). Looks like I can get out Saturday morning for a few hours...hope I have a positive answer for you. Regardless, you can't catch em from your living room (unless you have a really awesome living room) so give it a shot rain or shine.
  21. Terry I was too lazy to google...man you have some crazy computer skills! Kevin and Leslie the site looks great, see you next week.
  22. scary. I had heard rumours of pike in Balsam a few years ago but now we're seeing lots of proof. Think I'll go there Saturday and try to pull a few out!
  23. good luck to you and welcome to the site. I've never really fished pigeon, but I'd imagine the bass will be right where you'd expect - weeds, fallen trees, docks etc (dang predictable bass). Let us know how you do
  24. Oh man, you're in giggle city. Just wait til they start talking about which boys they like...I suggest you get out while you can. Good on you for taking them fishing though (can't say I would...probably drop them off at the mall and get the heck out of dodge)
  25. I wonder why she wouldn't just laminate the proof, and post it on on a pole near where people access her property. Save her the trouble of people coming onto her property, and then arguing with her that she doesn't own the riverbed. Maybe it doesn't happen often enough to worry about it.
