A bunch of us went down there when we were around 20 years old on a "dry" week-end. 10 minutes after we get there a "Yogi" (not sure if that term still exists)spots a case of beer in one of our trunks as we are setting up...booted our butts out of the park. Needless to say my experience at the Pineries was not a good one.

Took my 1980's merc 15 hp to a local marina (which will remain nameless for now...I bet Brian could guess)2 years ago for a tune-up. Motor ran fine that season but at the end of the year as I drained the oil from the lower end I noticed water had gotten in, and that the upper screw came out real easily (ie housing stripped). After changing the oil I put the screw back in place and siliconed over it. This past season the motor ran fine again, but in the fall while changing the oil I noticed water had gotten in again. Marinas tell me to change the lower unit housing at a cost of around $500 - not gonna happen on a motor that's over 20 years old. Any suggestions? Anyone want to buy it and tinker with it themselves shoot me a pm!.

pretty hard to argue with that! How many years will we see the leafs crap the bed early, play decent hockey when its too late and then miss the playoffs. Seriously, every year when they make this late run there are great hopes for the following year...just to see those hopes down the toilet before October ends!

kempenfelt bay still ice covered but doesn't look too safe (starting to get dark). I would guess a couple good days of 5-10 degree weather and the ice will be gone
