  1. Thats what I'm hoping. When I first saw one of these in action I couldn't believe it. To know there's a hump from 20 feet up to 10 off to your right is huge. Should help me from plowing right into weedy points too as I'm trolling...having said that, I've banged a bunch of fish seconds before the lure plunges into the milfoil! Maybe I will keep that tactic, but at least now I will haver the choice to stay outside the weeds on irregular weed lines if I want too. Before it was ah crap, back in the weeds
  2. I only watched the first minute. Was far too weirded out to keep going. Thank goodness for the subtitles.
  3. there's some solid advice. If you can, rebook! If you got to go now, good luck but it'll likely be some nasty weather and a tough bite
  4. I am way behind the times when it comes to technology. My idea of a waypoint is lining up the willow tree on one shore with the brown boathouse on the other...good luck on a foggy day! This summer I discovered what a great tool a GPS can be. While navigating at night on a foreign lake, my buddies hand held unit got us where we needed to go. To rely on eyesight was impossible. No way could you see where channels were between islands. Anyways, after a lengthy search, and lots of input from folks here I have decided to go with the Lowrance Elite 5. Basically a money motivated decision as its a "lower" cost unit, but from what I've heard, a decent unit. Thanks to all for your input, and especially scugog who has answered all my rookie questions without frustration.
  5. I can barely tolerate you guys on the computer, never mind face to face
  6. All it takes is one person bringing home a few largies in their livewell and setting them free. I've got a few ponds up here that have all kinds of fish in them
  7. I suggest something in June and something in November ...but since you're in Midhurst I could make any other date as well (even dinner tonight if you need company!)
  8. I guess the popular items they could knock a few bucks off so that the 13% discount wouldn't apply. Not sure if they do that, just a thought, especially on big ticket items where the tax might be $75
  9. ooh she's a dandy!
  10. I used to fish on the golf course at Centennial hill in Etobicoke, I think it was around the 3rd hole or so. Pond was full of bass. In Florida and Myrtle Beach I always have a retractable rod with me while golfing. If I don't catch at least a 3 pounder my golf day was unsuccessful!
  11. don't bother, everyone recognizes that spot. Next time blur out the background :blahblah1: nice fish by the way
  12. ya...not gonna tell this one to the wife
  13. Starting to get a pretty significant wish list going on, anyone know when the next no tax sale will be at LeB's? Thanks
  14. thanks for the update Lew, sounds like you got into a few fish (and sounds like Pete got to enjoy your company!)It'll be your turn next Pete, always seems to be like that in my boat too. If I'm getting them my buddy won't, and if he's on I'm usually off. Funny thing this musky fishing
  15. haha...that one was good enough to tell the wife
  16. WOW! Some beauty fish there and a great read. Congrats to both of you
  17. ...pretty sure he's calling you old :whistling:
  18. great stuff! no wonder my musky days aren't as good...I'm always off the water by 2:00. Sounds like that's when the fun started for you guys
  19. that was a great read. Beauty boat too! If I saw a bass with scars like that I would DEFINITELY be pulling out the musky gear. Looks like the first musky might have hit a "bobby"?
  20. Terry your new avatar just gave my dog a seizure
  21. I had a really good can of beets once...Schrute Farms I believe
  22. good advice Roy I'm a slow typer and you beat me to it
  23. Don't everyone get all worked up and start making emails and phone calls before getting all the facts. I mentionned to Lew about a year ago I came across his picture on this guys website and it didn't seem to bother him at that time. I'd say let Lew decide if it bothers him now. Was kind of a funny story actually involving copious amounts of Lew's blood in this guys boat (Lew got knicked by a big fish)if I remember the story correctly. Either way, the picture has been out there for some time so a couple more days until Lew sees this post won't be the end of the world.
  24. right on, beauty fish!
  25. Grimsby Bait and Tackle has tons of them
