Craig nailed it !!!! When they were stacking at the harbors and river/creek mouths they would just hammer flatfish !!!! The medium skunk and blue silver worked best !!!!! We would have 10fish mornings just trolling and casting Oshawa harbor !!!!! It was insane they will attack a flatfish or kwikfish we just had to change the hooks and put way stronger and bigger hooks on them !!!!!!!

I fished kushog last week for smallies myself and got about 10 smallies all about 1.5-2lbs not big at all and only made it from the southern end up to hwy 35 at the firehouse grill there was a fair amount of boat traffic too and I did lose one decent fish right at the marina but I did see a few smallies cruising the shoreline but they were spooky but the smaller ones were not !!!! So it was not very good for myself either !!!! Gonna try it in a month or so again when the lake is not as busy and the fish a little less spooky !!! Ya and there was people out tubing and water skiing at 7:30am !!!!!!!! And it's a narrow lake so I think it spooked the bass and they made about 15 passes in their wakeboard boat making 3ft waves !! Grrrrrrrrr

Found this little guy by one of my bird feeders I have never seen anything like this ??? Does anyone know what kind it is ??? I let him go on a tree,but I thought a small trout in a stream would just love him for a snack !!!! Lol.... Thanks just curious

In the spring we used to use a "worm ball " and it just that 2dozen dew worms threaded on a 5ft ball of strong fishing line no hooks involved just a big sewing needle and make a worm ball the size of a baseball and just haul them in one after another !!!! Guys up in the Ottawa river area still fish them that way to this day !!! Brown bullheads taste great in the spring when the water is cold !!! At one time I remember more guys showing up for bull head fishing than for the walleye opener !!!!! It was a big thing back in the day !!! Ahhhhh memories !!! Anything stinky would work too my gramps would save fish heads and skin from walleyes to throw back in the lake overnight to get crayfish and we would use them as well for bullheads !!!! Even the leftover fish guts from cleaning them would work !!!!!! Oh ya and even the eyes from the walleyes would work great !!!!! I just remembered that !!!!!! Lol....it's like smelt netting it used to be a huge gathering people camped in tents and campers !!!! Nobody seems to do it anymore !!!!!!!!!! Times have changed that's for sure !!!!

You cannot remove them from the water they came in !!!! Right now the rusty crayfish is expanding and it's an invasive species and not from Ontario !!!! It is illegal to transport them in any way .... Please do not

Awesome !!!! We have them all over the kawarthas !!! I see them everyday on my lake and some days they make a lot of noise too !!! Right now the parents are teaching the young ones to soar and to dive it's pretty cool too see everyday

What about the rapala fillet glove ??? They are multi purpose and can also be used as a tailing glove !!!! They work awesome I have used them for way over 20yrs !!! And they will breathe they are made for cleaning fish to protect your fingers from the knife but back in the 80"s when they an put the steelheaders like myself used them for tailing gloves you can grab or hold a fish with them and rinse them off and good to go !!!! I think they will suit your needs perfect !!! Check them out Canadian tire has them most places carry them !!!!!

Those kings are feeding on alewives and just gorging !!!!! They don't eat gobies off the bottom !!! I wish they did .... The 8lb smallies in Erie and simcoe are eating gobies !!!!!! The kings ply the open water and chase down schools of baitfish !!!!

Yes the fish is kept frozen and verified and given back to the guy a fish of that size is checked !!!! That's an awesome king for sure !!!! Hope he wins ... There will still be some monsters weighed in at port credit and bronte yet. !!!! Those fish will gain 1-2lbs a week from here on in !!!! Great sign to see a 40 in the derby !!!!!! Rizzo check out the guys setups on the salmon board spoon pullers great info those guys live and breath all that kind of stuff also Great Lakes anglers they all have setup sections and you can see what people have done !!! It will help as it's better to measure 100 times and drill once !!! There is lots of options and ways to rig out the tracks and like Shane sad are you gonna run a tree or just rod holders ?? You mostly fish for muskies don't you ?? Lots of guys run the saltiest for salmon as well !!!! Show us a few pics of the area where you want to install the track ?? And maybe there will be a better option brought up from someone !! Cheers

well I was Comming through canarvon in Haliburton right besides boshkung lake just on the way back from fishing and I seem big Momma bear standing on the shoulder of the road looking back and forth so I slowed down and stopped and started flashing my lights to the oncoming mortorcycles and they seen them too and out she comes with a cub in tow !!!!! And she could not get the cub to come out of the ditch so after about 30 seconds she turned and went back into the ditch and disappeared in the forest !!!!! She was a big bear and I was only about 50ft away in my truck but I did get a few pics before she left. !!!!! Cheers
