Hey guys i thought that cabelas were going to build in montreal as well ??? or am i wrong,i sure hope they come to either the GTA,or quebec,everytime i order anything and talk to them on the phone they say that our canadian sales are very good,and alot better than some of the individual states that have a cabelas !!!! cheers

A very interseting topic !!!!...i once read a wisconsin D.N.R report about them netting and tagging muskies,and they have big ones in that state,and to acually get a fish that big is like winn ing the lottery !!!they say 48inch muskies are about as big as an average big fish will be,to even get a 50inch fish the odds jump,20 times,and to get a 54inch muskieis like 150,000 to 1 ...man thats incredible,this was after 25yrs of netting and tagging muskies in very productive waters from like 10 different lakes and river systems !!!! they said weight will vary alot more than lenght,as some waters have alot more food than others,and this was all backed by scientific data,and lots of fishermens creel surveys. so it gives you an idea,of how hard it is to get a treu 50 inch fish !!! and to get one over 55inches is just shy of when pigs fly !!!! but it has happened and yes there are true trophys out there,but they say that true monsters get that big because of genetics,and everytime a big fish like that is taken out of the gene pool,that the species will acually never recover as they are so rare,as it is,they said they have proof of that,and that every year the pool is shrunk and that the true monster genes are almost gone !!!! if i can find that article i will post it for sure....

Well thats a big water boat for sure !!! now first thing is to put some downriggers on that bad boy !!!! and get out on lake ontario,for some spring salmon & lake erie for some monster walleyes !!!!cheers

Well i think the best thing to do,is go on-line,and start checking out different areas,and pick one where you want to go,and then call local baitshops talk to people that have fished the area,and then get a map and start by getting a game plan,on when is the best time,and the best lake that will put the odds in your favor !!!!i have been doing that for years,and have found some amazing fishing spots,and met great people,and fished alot of areas in this great province,in other words do some homework,and it will help you more that you will believe !!!! cheers

Does anybody ever notice that there are alot more snowmobilers,NOT ICE FISHERMEN go through the ice and drowned every year !!!! i hope none will die but the harsh reality is that there will be !!!!

Born in oshawa,and reside there today...and spent 13yrs growing up in bobcaygeon,at my grandparents fishing lodge & home on pigeon lake!!! but when i retire in 10yrs i am going to petawawa on the shores of the mighty ottawa river to fish walleyes till i die !!!! great thread ,its nice to see where everyone is from,man we are from all over the world

Well thats too bad,i i fished the first 5 years of that tourney,it was fun,and hey a few times if you even caught a 10-12inch perch you were going to win a truck,or a quad,and one year a guy won a new truck with a 4lb pike !!!! well its a sign of the times for sure,it will hurt lots of small business as well...
