Sorry, misspelled Mel Lastman and David Crombie. I've chatted with Mr. Crombie about the book a few years back as we walked down the street on our way to work! And yes he does work . . . My role was behind the scene making sure that the typography and press specs were accurate.

Roy, you couldn't have said it better. We arrived in 1959. I loved the part about the 40 million in housing being built. That's about what our street is worth in Kleinburg today. I have books called Toronto one dating back to 1957 and 1988. I'm proud to say that I had a hand in producing the millenium copy (2000) Inspired by Ed Mirvish, David Cronbie and Mel Latman. Great clip, thanks.

There you go, Apple plug and play. These things are like buying boats and lures everyone has an opinion/favorite. I say what ever you can affod and what ever you are comfortable with. Myself I have occasionally used PC and I can get by if need be, but an Apple product it's my boat/lure favorite. At 11, Roy will lock this for sure lol

Happy Thanksgiving to all and also our American cousins, come up and try it, if you don't like you can back out of yours! On a serious note, let's remember those who are not able to celebrate due to health or other reasons or are far from loved ones. When my kids were young I always took them to the fire station to donate food for those in need. We will remember our parents who took care of us and made sure we were well guided to have a successful future. With four girls, three happily married and 4 grandkids my home will be full. Paly safe A

GBW I have a two year old grand daughter who will be your neighbour Dec 14 and she scrolls through an iPod looking for movies that will make your head shake. All of them (2-4 year olds) have eyed the iPad but it's off limits. These kids make us look like we are still dialling an old rotary phone, hei I have one of those never mind . . .lol

Places to fish with in half an hour of Hamilton?
ketchenany replied to hotsky's topic in General Discussion
People here mention the Toronto Island for Pike. May have to drive a bit faster to make it in 1/2 hour! -
Does that involve rubber gloves!

I can't offer specific places, I've done Georgian Bay to Cochrane and anywhere in between in my youth (I'm not that old). I do produce a tourism magazine for Ontario Tourism. Our 2013 printed issue will be in market by April/May 2013. If you have an iPad or similar device you can download a FREE app for Ontario Travel and can view our fall and soon our winter version. I can guide you to ontariotravel.net - here you will find all you will need to know, just pick the area you want to visit or request publications. . . . If you have problems pm me and I'll send you the link. THIS is not spam! If you have heard of Wil Wegman, we are in the same boat - Irish is a great source for the Temogami area but I'm sure a lot of other member who live outside of the "city" will be more than helpful. Hope you make it up and visit us. A

Mine too. I remember the landing like it was yesterday. He was the quiet one of the three. He was never in the news and kept to himself. I found out he did teach so is knowledge is not lost. The X15 at more that 200,000 feet is quite the accomplishment. he will be in the history books for ever as being the first human to set foot on another planet.

Wayne, no one needs this, especially you. Our thoughts are with you and the rest of the family. I'm sure things will be fine, Jen as conquered a lot of obstacles, she can do it again. Albert -
Nice work. If you have no guest you can always remove the seat and mount the BBQ. A

Left July 4th for a wedding and stayed for 3 weeks in Italy,my first visit in almost 40 years! Seen a lot of it from Rome and south. Temperatures were nothing under 40 celsius and humid. And no rain to speak of. Missed the cool Canadian air, I thought of Irish in Temagami, who hopefully is enjoying himself with his family after a difficult time. A lot of great scenery in most places but the economy is not good at all. I did cross a river FULL of fish (stocked and protected) amazing, since I didn't see much wildlife, especially birds I was looking for to photograph! I did see shore fishing in Maratea and Diamante two very beautiful costal towns, but wasn't there long enough to see if they had any luck. Why would you fish with what surrounds you, purely spectacular. The seafood dinner by the seashore was enough for me. I did stop in a mountain town and an outdoor shop near a national park owned by my wife's cousin and was forced to take a shamano Alivio 1000FB! Offered a rod but declined due to carrying it back, I have what I need and don't use. The reel will go to my grandson next year when he will start fishing with me (I've been lacking for many years and want to get at it again with him). I know trout rivers but will want to find perch to start him off. I'm so happy to be back In Canada, you would not believe, the best country in the world. I was in constant contact with my children with my iPad, I did try to log into OFC but was refused, TJ you are not world wide yet ( no problem with wifi in big cities) but when work sends a message that they wanted me back early to complete a project it felt so good. It took me a week to catch up and I love it. have a great summer You all ( I did run into and amazing American who has been sailing the oceans for 20 years ( never been in Canada) and now settled down in Mendicino, Aplumma he needs help, he smokes Cuban Santa Maria #5 and has a doormat, well I'll leave it up to you're imagination He will be my friend for as long as I live. he was a blast to talk to as he doesn't get to practice his Yankee talk! Irish, I know you are not back but hope you are having great rest. A
