  1. Sail has the cannon tracks alot cheaper than the berts tracks at BPS. 24" for $49.99 They are adaptable for all berts tracks accessories. More screw holes per sq. inch than berts too. FYI
  2. The fish are deep. My deepest came from 110 on saturday, and 112 yesterday. That being said, both days there was a lot of activity at the surface. I'm not sure what they were, but there was a lot of fish surfacing, and rolling early in the day. We also seen several giant schools of smelt, just under the surface. You never know. Give it a shot, you have nothing to lose. Good luck!!
  3. hutcheson beach launch is just west of the OPP station at muskoka rd 2. turn left at hutcheson rd. VERY shallow launch. last time I was there my truck was in the lake about 20-30 yards to get the boat off the trailer. If you have a big boat, I would suggest the one in town and run the narrows to the lake.
  4. Hi all. Is there a way to turn off to save battery life? We are doing a fly-in in a couple of weeks, and I would like to bring my sonar. I have 2 x 7.5Ah Batteries that ususally only last about 7hrs. each. If I could figure out how to turn off the GPS, I'm sure they would last longer, as there is no hydro at the camp we are going to, to recharge. My unit is the HDS5 Lake Insight version. I have looked through all menu's, and can't seem to figure it out. Any help is appreciated.
  5. Check to see if your pressure tank is "drowned" This happened last year to us at the cottage. changed the switch, changed the breaker, ended up being the pressure tank. If you think it could be drowned, open the bottom valve and put a LITTLE air to it.
  6. There is no registration no. on the boat. the trailer, i'll probably just tell them its homemade. That part is easy.
  7. Hey all. This weekend I bought a new to me, boat motor and trailer. Its a 14' tinner with a 15 hp merc. Bought it as a second boat to keep at the cottage. My question is, I bought the package from my neighbor at the cottage, but he has no ownership for the trailer, or registration for the motor/boat. We're not even sure what year the motor is. I know for a fact that this package is not stolen. (was on the property when he bought). How do I go about getting this boat to be legal. Chances are, on our lake I won't have to worry about police stopping me, but I want to make sure it's legal in case i want to try other lakes near my cottage. The only sticker I found on the motor for the serial no. says 0G236079. Anyone here know what year this thing might be? Looks to be late 80's, early 90's. The trailer has no identifying stickers or placards. Not even a licence plate, so I'm not even sure what brand it is. Any help is good help. Thanks.
  8. Got mine at radioworld. I think it was $90 for the ducer and the power cord together. Doesnt come with foam. I just used some pipe insulation and some zip ties. Works great
  9. Its pretty cheap to rent a car there. I think we paid $18 US/day I used credit card that has automatic insurance when u rent a car. It takes only about 20 mins to get to the east side. All the resorts are on the west coast of the island. You should try....u won't regret it.
  10. In Cozumel, the entire west side of the island is a marine sanctuary, however on the east side (atlantic) it is open to fishing.(you need a license). The terrain is pretty rugged and the surf usually rough. When i was there, i paid a local kid to take me out spear fishing. Pretty cool experience. If you do go to the east side of the island, be sure to visit coconuts, and ask the waiter for "THE MENU". Also try out the Bob Marley Rasta Bar. You wont regret it. Keep in mind, the east side of the island is mostly undeveloped, and there is absolutely no hydro. The police,(army) patrol regularily, and kick out any non-locals after dark. (had to beg the cop to take my wife there at 4am to watch the sunrise on the atlantic. Thank god she speaks spanish). Take the gear!! You'll regret it if you don't. And most of all...have a great time!!
  11. So long as you have it apart, replace the crank bearings and crank seals. Does'nt cost too much more. Check the bottom of the crankcase. This happened to me 2 years ago. I couldnt find the pieces from the piston. Took the whole motor out, and there they were in the belly pan. Bottom of the crankcase there was a loonie size hole i would never have seen unless the motor came out. Certain years of Polaris sleds are known for bad cranks/bearings. Especially the triples. Another word of advise........Don't rebuild the engine on the kitchen table!! The wife does not like that!! (learned the hard way)
  12. Was there 8 years ago to get married. My wife wouldnt let me bring fishing gear, so being me, got hooked up with a local. He gave me a big orange spool, spooled with 20# line. we tied a piece of coral to the end of the line, and about 2 feet up tied on a hook, and got some raw chicken from the chef at the resort. Every night and morning, we would meet at the breakwall in front of the resort, and catch TONS. A lot of pink snapper, even a small barracuda. It was a really neat way to fish. Just fire it out into the surf, and slowly bring it in. When they hit, they really nail it. He (Gaston) said that rods and reels were too expensive there, so thats why they used these spools. He let me keep the spool he gave me to use, so when I returned home, I sent him a heavy duty ugly stick, and reel spooled with 40# power pro, and a pile of terminal tackle. (hooks, and bell sinkers). Cost me about 160 bucks to send it all down there, but it was well worth the experience. To this day I keep in touch with Gaston. Have fun!! Its a beautiful island.
  13. If you can get up to Sprucedale next Friday, I have tons at the cottage. 2" white with the little blue specks in it. I think its R9. only catch is my driveway doesnt get plowed in the winter, so we'll have to carry it out about 2-300 yards to the road. I will have my sled up with me but no toboggan to haul with. PM me if youre interested. its yours for free. some is a little busted up, but there should be more than enough for what you need. LMK
  14. Ya . was fun. as I remember it, you put your truck through that March.
  15. Fished Little Kash on Friday out from Kashaga lodge, Ice was 6" everywhere we went. Had the sleds out. Stayed away from the narrows though.
  16. Came inches from nailing a deer on the snowmobile last year at about 50mph. wouldve made a big mess of me. was at night near Wasaga on the main trail. It jumped out of nowhere.
  17. I remember the day Sly found that spot. He came and grabbed Iceguy and myself from Iceguys hut. Said "lets go, we found the fish. Tommys out there now." It was one of the best days ive ever had out there. The next weekend he pulled all his huts out there, and for the rest of the season, it was a zoo. I still go out there from time to time, but the fishing has never been as good as that day. Heres the video from the day he found that spot. Lots of good days remembered with Sly. Miss ya Buddie!!
  18. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis 4 years ago. I've been avoiding surgery. Let us know how you make out.
  19. Stephensons or Cat rental used to rent Industrial floor grinders. I'm sure they still do.
  20. Nice ride. Had the chance to drive the same sled last year. all i can say is HOLD ON!!
  21. Im hoping the same, im in the same area. If anyone from Sprucedale to Parry sound knows, please report. I have a couple of bad trees that were slated to come down in spring, maybe mother nature took care of them.
  22. I live in Bradford and see them almost every day, but as soon as i get in the ground blind with a gun, they seem to go extinct
  23. Tuned mine up last week. The smell of the two stroke exhaust gave me goosebumps. Snow.....the other white drug.
  24. Haha. You posted your fix while i was typing my reply. lol Looks good!! You should've got your railings from me though.
