  1. There is a great product we use all the time for small patches like this one. Its called Sika top plus. comes in a yellow bag. I would suggest using a latex primer and pins. The pins will prevent the patch from detaching from the parent concrete in the event water gets into the seam and freezes. another good product is called king. When mixed properly, it will have a compessive strength of around 25-35 MPA. Which ever method you choose, you should install the pins. Tapcons work good for this. When you install your new railing, try to keep a min. edge distance of about 4" for any type of expansion anchor, or 2" for a chemical epoxy anchor.
  2. Anything bigger than 10" DBH (diameter at breast height) needs a permit.
  3. Are you staying at pickeral lake cottages? If so, just talk to Doug when you get there. He'll steer you in the right direction. Not a very big lake, so shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I find the fishing there to be mediocre at best. Some good pike and bass though. Try the rock face for Bass.
  4. UPDATE... Turns out, the starter worked its way loose, and caused a voltage spike, which blew the EMM. (computer) All fixed up and running great again.
  5. came that way from the dealer. Even has a holder for an extra fuse, also loaded with a 10amp. dropped it off tonite. Larry's gonna put it on the computer tomorrow morning. We'll see what happens
  6. Reinhart sold to larry and colleen about 10 years ago. He's still kickin about though. Tough old bugger
  7. Been dealing with colleen and larry for about 10 years now. Usually good service and quick turnaround.
  8. nope. been using nylock nuts on my batteries for a long time. long before owning an etec. tried etecowners forum. some good info. i figure the emm is shot again. tried a couple things i picked up from etecowners forum. ran ok in the driveway, took it down the street to the holland to try it out, and again same crap. tonite cant even turn the key to on position without it tripping. taking back to Katrine marine friday. let them figure it out.
  9. Sandy Cove marine in Barrie used to stockpile tons of old outboard parts. Dont know if they still do since reopening after bankruptcy. Might be worth a try.
  10. Runs great. hole shot is incredible. Quiet and great on gas. If it was an injector shorting out, shouldnt it show when they run diagnostics?
  11. Hi all, I bought a 2009 evinrude etec new in 2010. The first season it worked great. I was really happy with my purchase. in the beginning of the second season (June), it started to blow the main fuse(10amp). took it to the dealer to have fixed under warranty. It took them 3 weeks to diagnose the problem. They said bad control box. They changed it at no cost. Again it worked great for about 6 weeks then it started to happen again, Same problem. So, back to the dealer. Another 3 weeks to diagnose. This time they say Bad EMM. (computer) 1 week waiting for the part, and im back on the water. First trip out, starter bolts break.(2 of 3) this repair takes 1 more week. Now its October. Put the boat to bed for the winter. This April get the boat out, a few trips to nuke plant before taking it to the cottage for the summer. This past weekend, while out fishing muskieSame fuse issue. Keeps blowing main fuse. My patience is starting to run out. I bought this motor because i was tired of getting stranded on the water by my 2006 4 stroke Merc. Just wondering if anyone else has had or heard of these same problems with the main fuse, and what was the solution. I know there are a few knowlegable people on this board when it comes to outboards. I just wanna go fishing with no headaches or worries. Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers,
  12. no rainbows. not bad for the other two.
  13. We once dragged someones permanent hut down to the bottom of cooks from 8th line innisfil. went out one Saturday and they literally set it up 8' from my front door with their door facing mine. hooked her up and away it went.
  14. Check the forecast before u go. They're sayin possible 100km wind this saturday.
  15. pike walleye and bass. Although I wouldnt call it great fishing there, can usually work a fish or two.
  16. Straight across from your work is a rock face with alot of grafitti on it. usually good for a fish or two. about half way to that rock face, is the deepest part of the lake, gets to about 110'. its more like a crater. always mark fish there but can never get them to go. seen some people fishing it on Saturday, but i was doing about 120kph taking the D123 shortcut on the sled, so i never stopped to see if they were catching. BTW the link posted is some close friends' resort. Doug and Susan are great people, and Doug really knows the lake.
  17. Good to meet you!! Good luck up there.. I'm Jealous. Hope the sled works for you
  18. Check your pm's. I have a magnum otter sled you could use, with a tow bar. I'm in Bradford.
  19. I was going to suggest the same thing. Although the weather has been fairly mild, the water is still quite cold. Slow your presentation down. Use suspending body baits, jerk like crazy a few times, then just let it sit there. I haven't fished down there since I moved out of the city, but thats what we used to do. Keep at it. There are some real monsters lurking around down there. Also try the boardwalk in fron of old fort york. Used to do well there also. Good Luck!!
  20. You should try banger bob's at exit 248 in emsdale. only open in the summer.I always stop there on fridays in the summer, as he's down the road from my cottage. Best sausage in the north.
  21. Lots of ice there.. I was fishing there three weeks ago on about 7". we had our sleds out. There was even some crazy bugger out with a rav4. Didnt sound very nice when he drove past us. We went out near the train crossing and fished near the group of huts 35-75fow one lake trout for our efforts. The sledding is great right now. We went to my cottage this past weekend, and the trails were in great shape with a foot of fresh snow sunday morning. Might go back up this weekend. Drop me a line if your heading up. Maybe i'll join you if we're up. still trying to get enough people together to make it a party. Wanna do some more sledding before the snow's gone. If I know your out there, it will give us a destination.
  22. Didn't hear my phone ring you twit...er. I mean nice fish. planning a trip to the cottage in the next couple of weeks let me know if your in. And oh ya...Nice hogs!!
  23. put in a square of tile backer cement board 5/8 thick then use high heat fireplace silicone to seal the gaps around pipe. I used this material to build a box around the pipe in my cabin where it goes through the roof. Stayed 12" around the pipe, and where it exits through the roof, I put a 16x16" square. Even with a raging fire in the stove, there is little or no heat transfer. Not exactly code, but a cheap alternative. after all, it is an ice shack.
