Nice work guys! Tell that Andy fella I says HI! Never jig whities without the side hooks. 90% of the time, that's what gets them. And always right in the face, just like Matt's! S.

The forester has been great. I put a new motor and turbo in it last winter, so its like a brand new car again. Great for back lakes, and awesome in the winter. WAaaaaaay better than the old jeep!! haha Its for sale if your interested. I need something bigger! S. -

Back Lakes this spring for Brookies/Splake/Bows

I still need to ice a few before I get the spring troutin' itch going! S. -
Here's a pic of the back lake I fished on tuesday. Lots of snow then, but I'm not sure if they got snow or rain on top of that. We were on a good 12" of ice, but on a very small back lake. Bigger lakes may be slushy now. S.

Outdoor Card/Fishing Licence renewal late
Sinker replied to captpierre's topic in General Discussion
Same here. Got it Jan. 4th, card came jan. 29th. Not bad at all, but getting my license renewed was a bit of a run around..... I think your supposed to carry the yellow stampy sticker thing with your card. Not really sure, but mine has a little sticky tab on it that sticks to my card real nice, so I'm just going to keep it there. S. -
Well if he really is a "friend", I wouldn't keep his rod, or be upset about the cash. Friends are for life man. One day down the road when your hurting, he may be able to help you out some way. If you keep his rod, he is going to be pissed, and your "friend" won't help ya at all. I never take gas money from friends, but I always offer if they drive. They hardly take it, but I can't just not offer. If Im not driving, i ALWAYS buy coffees, food and bait. Always. What comes around goes around. Friends are important. You helped him out, only to burn him. If I was him, I'd be pissed, and think YOU are a bad "friend". S.

No, it clearly is not Just trying to get the point across that there is lots of ice in places other than simcoe. Simcoe is not the only lake in ontario.....I'm not sure a lot of people here realize this or not?? Get on your horse and go for a drive. There is lots of perfectly safe ice out there, just go find it. I'd rather be where I was than simcoe any day!! S.

What Effect Does No Ice Have On Cold Water Species In Lake Simcoe?
Sinker replied to mukluk's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, won't make much difference. A degree or two is insignificant. The lack of fishing pressure will make a big difference though, as will all the garbage on the ice. Should be nice and clean out there now lol S. -
Lots of ice here today....and no wind at all. Not even a track:canadian: S.

If I planned my trips based on the weather forcast, I'd never go fishing!! Just go....and deal with what is dealt to ya. Today was a beautiful day to be on the ice!! So far this season, I haven't fished thru the ice on a day it was below zero....I'm not complaining!! How'd you guys make out?? S.

The greatest thing for spring turkey hunting when the flies are out!! Its pretty much impossible to sit still when your swarmed with black flies! I wear a bug jacket for fishing in blackflies. Thermacell isn't as effective if your moving around in my experience. S.

If you want perch that are big enough to keep, check the operators from virginia beach east to beaverton. The west shore is mostly dinks. Sure, you'll catch lots, but I'd prefer to catch less, more quality. S.

Thats over and above the price of the actual tracks, right? If someone could make me the whole set up for that price, I think I'd order them tomorrow

Simcoe Hut Operators for lakers/whitefish
Sinker replied to asdve23rveavwa's topic in General Discussion
I always use Tim Hales out of beaverton, or if he's fully booked, I go with Hanks in Jacksons point. Floyd Hales is supposed to be good too, but I've never been out with him personally. Tim will have huts for perch out if he can't get to the deep water areas. S. -
Sweet set up for sure! I'm interested in those tracks. Did you fab those yourself? How cool would my forester XT be with tracks on it....yeehaw! S.
-
I would get the smart tabs over the hydrofoil myself, but I have never used either of them. I think solopaddler had them on his boat and loved them. S.
-
I think you should go with more horsepower. A friend of mine has the same boat, with a 90 Evinrude on the back. It gets up and goes, no problem. he primarily uses it on Lake Ontario. S.

Those slobs are going to ruin it for all of us!! They need a right good kick in the ass!! I swear, slob fisherman are some of the worste slobs out there!! It blows my mind how someone who must enjoy the outdoors, can have such disregard for it.

Roots in my drain line Half way to the road
Sinker replied to davey buoy's topic in General Discussion
I'd fix it, then burn the tree. I had the same problem, but it was with a septic bed. Silver maple had roots into the next county. Once I had the bed cleared, the tree came down the next day. It was too bad, it was a HUGE, beautiful, mature tree. S. -
Using breathable rain pants for snow pants
Sinker replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
I use them at work every day. It gets too hot in standard insulated bibs, so when I'm WORKING outside, the waterproof, breathable bibs are my choice. I'm not sure I would use them for icefishing though. My skinny arse gets cold If I'm not dressed warm enough. I guess if you layered up underneath them properly, you'd be fine. They are a great shell/windbreak for sure. S. -
Yep, rigid tow bar is a must.
-
This will be my next suit for sure. Mainly because they come in camo, but i also think the 2 piece suit is the way to go. You get more use out of it. They are super light and flexible. You wouldn't even think they float by looking at them. Nothing like a floater suit at all. S.

I know you have pretty tight lips, Steve, but that's what you get for showing people your good spots! Your one of the only ones that gets straight up info from me! I hope you didn't take them to MY perch honeyhole!!! S.
