  1. Great rig! I'm not sure what the deal is with the other dealers that won't give quotes. My buddy was treated the same way, and also is going with hastings. They're tough to beat. i agree on teh wetlands camo. There really is no need. Its more for the hunters than the ducks! Looks cool though... lol You didn't say what size motor you got? I'm assuming a 90?? I'm sure it will get you up on plane no problem, and you'll love it to death! You got yourself a great duck machine. Where abouts do you hunt? I'm not looking for your favourite spot or anything, just general area of Ontario. I'm also a hardcore waterfowler, if its duck season, my fishing gear collects dust! I travel all over from the Kawartha's, quinte, lake ontario and down to St. Clair a few times a season for cans/reds. I'm out from opener, till the last day, twice a week! Its my true passion, more so than fishing!! I think you did well, and got a very versitile rig. She will handle big water no problem, and like you said, skinny water as well. I'm a tad jealous!! Good luck on the electronics search! S.
  2. Well Bob, I can launch my boat in NO water, off a beach. The tires don't even touch the water at all. I can't disclose my secret here, but I use the winch to winch if off. Works pretty slick when the launches are frozen S.
  3. Most conservation authorities have monitoring sites as well. Could be thiers. No logo or anything on the box? S.
  4. Atta boy! Nice brown! S.
  5. Black and orange.....the only colour you need for musky!! Looks like he's gonna be safe as can be, Joey! I can't find a vest large enough for my dog. He doesn't like wearing them anyways....he's a pretty good swimmer though! S.
  6. I still think its his fuel line. It needs to be replaced, not just the primer bulb. I wish I had a picture of what mine looked like inside, it was crazy!! S.
  7. I'm not sure if BP will cover any warranty for the Simms, might have to go right to simms. The redhead brand has lifetime warranty though, free replacement, no questions asked. S.
  8. Give her a heavy dose of seafoam. S.
  9. Happy birthday beans!! Enjoy this beautiful day bud!! Hopefully, your out fishing, and hammering on some crappies for dinner S.
  10. The line I got at CT is soft. I know the hard ones your talking about, and I wouldn't buy one of them either. Mine is grey in colour if that makes any difference. Hope ya get her going! There is nothing worse than an engine that's not working right! s.
  11. Nice rig CH312, get her out on the water and let us know how it fishes! Any pics?? Ok then Did you even open the link I provided? Any of you guys?? What is a pleasure craft licence and why do I need it? A pleasure craft licence provides a unique identification number - commonly referred to as the "licence number" - that you must display on your recreational vessel, as required under the Small Vessel Regulations of the Canada Shipping Act, 2001. This licence number helps law-enforcement and search and rescue officials trace a pleasure craft to its owner. How should I display the licence number on my pleasure craft? You must display the licence number on both sides of the bow, above the waterline, in block characters that are at least 7.5 centimetres (3 inches) high and in a colour that contrasts with the colour of the bow. Seems pretty clear to me, no? Here is the link again. Have a look this time, only read it slowly so you understand. http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/debs-obs-paperwork-paperwork_boat_licence-3211.htm#g6 Boat registration is that piece of paper you have to carry around with all the rest of your paperwork. Pretty soon I'll need a briefcase to carry it all around in!! I'm not making this stuff up, so unless one of you fella's can provide me with info to prove otherwise, this is how it works!! S.
  12. You should of listened the first time I said it and got the gas line, then you would be out fishing right now I had the EXACT problem with my 40hp last spring. New fuel line, and a good dose of seafoam and she was good as new.....I did the same as you, replaced the filter, checked the pump, took a part the tank....it was the line, and that was it. When I took it off and cut it open, it was totally eaten up inside. I have a feeling you have the same issue. I don't mind if you don't want to take my advice. I'm only trying to save you a few bucks and some of your time. A gas line is cheaper than your filter.....I got a new one at CT for less than $40. S.
  13. The key with waders is getting a pair with warranty. I don't care what kind you get, or what brand, you will get a leak sooner or later. I've learned my lesson buying expensive waders, only to get a leak, and have to pay big money for a new set. Now, I order mine from cabela's, and when i get a leak, I send them back for a new pair, free of charge. I'm pretty sure the redhead brand from BPS has a similar warranty. I haven't bought waders in years! S.
  14. Just go get yourself a new gas line and be done with it. S.
  15. I'm telling ya, try another fuel line. How old is the one on there now? If you have to prime the ball for it to get enough fuel to run, your line is not working properly, or you have an air leak. Obvioulsy the pump is working if its running at all, and clearly fuel is getting thru the filter. I think the problem is getting fuel from the tank to the engine. S.
  16. Guys, I have no idea whether there are fish in those spots or not. Never tried them. Just letting Gerrit know there is a boat launch at the end of his street. Never been to Wellington either....just heard about browns down that way. Good luck if you go, and let us all know how you make out! S.
  17. I was chased out of the garden last night by mosquitos. I'm going to have to open up the pool to get rid of them!! They were hungry! S.
  18. I'm not sure what the regs are Gerrit, but there should be lots of fish in Brighton bay. I know there is a boat launch right on ontario st, before you turn into the park where you could throw some casts. Its pretty shallow, but might be some pike in there. I know they also catch browns off wellington somewhere.....maybe ask on the quinte site. Port hope is only a half hour or so away, rice lake another 15 from there. If your still itching on tuesday, get in touch. S.
  19. I've never seen a tick. Hopefully it stays that way! S.
  20. I still say a new gas line and some seafoam will clear it up. Something is gummed up in there, and starving the engine of fuel. S.
  21. No, that's not the answer at all. Just don't name lakes, and keep quiet about your favourite spots. You can talk fishing all day long without naming lakes. I do all the time. I even post photos of my catch, and nobody knows where I'm fishing. I hope I didn't upset you Cliff. After the fiasco I witnessed up there last year, my lips are sealed for good. I hope you understand where I'm coming from!! S.
  22. Replace your gas line, with one good for ethanol, then run some seafoam thru it. I had the same problem with mine last spring. S.
  23. Its not even the crowd I worry about, its those gawd dammm poachers!!! Remember when you post it here, anyone can find your post with a simple google search. Just google sturgeon lake, and I bet this post comes up. Tight lips!! S.
  24. ACtually, Bill, boats are licensed. Did you look at the link I put up? What do you think those numbers on your bow are?? You register the boat for ownership purposes, and license it for....well....who knows why. They say they use the numbers in case of an emergency, but we all know its just a cash grab!! Trailers are plated. Look it up. S.
  25. Why do you think it would fall precipitously? Whatever that reason is....that is what you have to repair. I know nothing about the saugeen, but I know if fish have proper habitat, they will reproduce succesfully. I'm sure there is a lot more to it than that, but its a good start. Its not going to happen over night, but they will eventually reproduce themselves if they have the habitat. You can stock it till the end of time, but if they can't reproduce, stocking will NEVER end. Create some habitat so they will reproduce, and then spend that saved money from raising fish somewhere else, where its needed. Habitat is the key, I don't care what anyone argues. If fish can't reproduce, you won't have fish.....pretty simple isn't it?? That theory works with any species, not just your beloved rainbows. Now, feeding all these fish is another story. I know nothing about lake huron's bait situation, but I've heard its not good. S.
