  1. Still no sign of them Lew. Pretty sad. Glad everyone made out OK today, but I'm really curious to know how you swamp an 18ft boat on quinte. They must have either done something wrong, or had mechanical failure. S.
  2. I have tried several different models, and I can't get 5km on any of them.....even on open water. IMO, they all suck! Better than nothing, but not near as good as texting on a cell phone.....unless of course there is no service. S.
  3. Oh yeah! Bring it ON!! P.S.....learn how to drive people!!! S.
  4. Get a heavier maul Steve. Mine is 14lbs....I prefer the gas splitter though Please wear eye protection if your using a steel wedge. I have a good buddy who is missing an eye because he didn't. P.S....if you want to use my splitter, just say the word! S.
  5. I would have done the same. Its no worse than watching it suffer a slow painful death. S.
  6. Guys do the same mod to merc 40's too. S.
  7. I'm seriously thinking about a pop up to keep inside my flip hut. The flip over is great for mobility, but the pop ups are soooooo much bigger once they're up. My plan was use the flip hut until I'm on fish, then set up the pop up and get comfy. Also great when taking kids. S.
  8. Yep, shower curtain hooks and rubber bands. S.
  9. The steering friction and fuel economy on the yammies is awesome! I ran down the lake this morning at dark thirty on plane with both hands in my pockets. Can't beat the yammy tillers!! S.
  10. There used to be a time when you were required to have your big game displayed in plain view. Its whiners like bill that put a stop to it. Get over yourself man.....if I killed me a big bull moose you can bet I'd be putting it where everyone can see. Its part of our heritage as canadians, like it or not! S.
  11. I'm. Also in the market for a new tiller, and the yammy is my choice hands down. A little more money, but they are the best in all aspects IMO. My hunting partner. Has a new 40 yammy on his lund, and its a sweeeeeet engine. I gotta get me one. I'm getting 32mph with a 96 2 stroke. Mariner 40 right now.....on a wide body 16 ft starcraft....my buddies new 4 stroke can't keep up, and his boat is not quite as wide, and I would think a bit lighter too. I don't think you'll find much top end change going up 10hp, but you will notice more bottom end for sure. The new yammies with the electronic throttle controls are wicked quiet and sooo smooth. S.
  12. Don't get me wrong, duck hunting is definitly dangerous! Usually by the time deer season rolls around though, your only left with the hardcore waterfowlers in the marsh. Most times I have the whole place to myself. The first couple weeks of the season are complete Bull though...... S.
  13. I'd look at the Lowrance Elite series myself. The Elite 4 is a great unit on the ice. S.
  14. I really like having the GPS on my graph as well. I have no use for a flasher. A graph marks the exact same fish, in real time, and you can use it all year round. I can mark my jig perfectly in any depth I've fished....up to 120ft....no problem. S.
  15. This is exactly why I don't do the controlled deer hunt. You get a pile of guys in the woods who handle guns for one week a year, and think they know everything. I'll stick to killing ducks, thanks. All of these cases are just plain stupid. Seriously....lowering your gun from the stand....LOADED?? what the hell is wrong with these guys? They deserve what they get, and I really hope they learn a lesson. All this does is provide ammo for anti guns.....just kills the image for all hunters. Frankly, as a hunter, its embarassing. S.
  16. I'm just out of 977 range where I am. Miss it! Mike was great!! S.
  17. Good times! Congrats on a successful hunt!! S.
  18. Loose lips sink ships! S.
  19. Those buckets would be worth keeping if they don't leak Bri....any pics of them? I use Grimm buckest and lids at home. I like to keep it old school. S.
  20. We used to have some good times in the old chat room back in the day on here. I'd join ya, but it won't work from my phone lol S.
  21. Randy beat me to it lol We still use a grimm evaporator at work. Works great, but we aren't making money off production. S.
  22. Great thermos. No problem keeping things piping hot all day. I ran over my last one with a truck, and it still worked fine lol. S.
  23. We used to call that a fish whistle. Works like a charm! S.
  24. You need a set of pure virgin wool trigger mitts. I always wear thin wool gloves. That's pretty much all I wear unless its really, really cold,or I'm running a machine in the open. Then its deerskin mitts with wool liners. S.
