  1. My GF begs me to take her. Sometimes I don't even want to go......she kicks my ass most times too! I use fishing as a leverage tool with her haha. I'll take you fishing if you do_________......LOL S.
  2. Yeah, hard to beat the titans in that price range. They are warm. Love mine. S.
  3. I also have a buddy who found walkable ice on a small back lake yesterday. Just check carefully. This snow won't help. I'm gonna wait til next week. S.
  4. Haha...I had a guy anchor a little too close to me on simcoe one time hook into my anchor rope. He fought it for a loooong time.....he'd pull....my boat would move closer and he'd gain line....I'd start the electric and pull a bit of drag from him.....turn it off and he'd gain a bit....OMG it was hilarious. He thought he had the biggest fish in the lake on. We could hardly contain ourselves. He finally snapped his line and left me a brand new shiny williams stuck in my rope. If he wasn't so ignorant I woulda gave it back, but he was a total dick! Anchored right on top of me! S.
  5. Not hard to tell he's done it a few times.....and seems to love it! Have you ever clocked him at a full run? I just got a 2 yr old black lab a month or two ago. I put down my 11 yr old chocolate in July.....what a difference with the young pup. Hes so fast and agile.....blows me away. I went from an 11yr old 110lber, to a 2 year old 45lber.....he does everything in high gear. Even when I say sit, he sits fast LOL. The old dog had trouble with stairs and jumping etc.....this guy makes it look so easy!!! No fear either.....just full out give'r everywhere he goes!!! Gotta love 'em! I couldn't be without one! S.
  6. We have maybe 8" here. I'm kind of in a snow belt too. I would think a lot of the snow I'm getting is coming off lake simcoe. Beans, I'm just south of PTBO. Sounds like we have more than you. Drive safe! S.
  7. My lab would kill to live with youu!! Sheesh...what a life! For now he will have to settle for our morning hike, and evening training sessions lol S.
  8. Everyone is different. I'd rather fish close to home, safe a few bucks travelling, and catch fish all day, than spend the cash driving to Nip, booking a place to stay etc.....to MAYBE get a fish or two. All I hear about is the poor fishing on Nippising these days. Not really my thing. I fish for everything though, not just musky, and I fish all year round too. S.
  9. Too short for a lot of my rods. S.
  10. You need to know if the water is safe. Most contamination comes from fixtures. Make sure the water from the well is safe, and work from there. Its not too hard to disinfect your water system, but its difficult if you dont know if thhe water is clean. Running the water for a period of time ensures you are getting fresh water from the well, not water thats been sitting in the distribution system. S.
  11. Ha....I live in the kawarthas a fish 2 or 3 times a week! You guys are missin out! S.
  12. Try again. Do you have any kind of treatment after the softener? UV? Chlorine? Sanitize the tap, and let the water run for a good 10 mins or so before sampling. S.
  13. Yeah, your pretty much pooched on the kawartha's. S.
  14. If I told you that i'd have to kill you. My sources are too far for you anyways. S.
  15. I'll second Brooks. S.
  16. Simple and effective....thats my style! S.
  17. My blower uses a bolt for the shear pins. Thats whats right in the manual. S.
  18. I have colour, and monochrome, they both work just as well. I actually prefer the monochrome because the battery will last for days. As long as you can mark bottom, fish, and your jig, your doing the same thing any other high end expensive unit is. You don't need anything fancy IMO. S.
  19. A mink is not much bigger than a large squirrel. A marten, like you say, a bit bigger than a cat, but longer. I thought a fisher was much bigger than a cat....more like coon size. We have a fisher mounted at work, i'll take a pic of it and post it. Its pretty big. Bigger than the one in the vid....i think anyways. lol S.
  20. Are you thinking of minks? I cant say for sure, but the ones I see around here are about the size of a groundhog....I always thought they were martens..... Looks like the same one in the vid, but not much there to compare size with. I also thought fishers were found more north.... I could have the two confused, im really not sure. S.
  21. I highly doubt it. This is a VERY rare duck here in ON. You probably have a female bufflehead that's scaring your fish. They look very similar. S.
  22. Had one just like that at one time. Crazy machine. No good for fishin though.... Also had a AC 440 sno pro....fun little sled. And a 340 AC puma. That was a good reliable little fishin sled. I shoulda never sold it. Now its the heel toe express for me and my one man clam. Very reliable, and cheap on gas LOL S.
  23. Quite a few around this area now too. I always thought they were martens....no? I'm not sure how to tell the difference. I thought martens were smaller than a fisher.... S.
  24. You invented a magnet?
