  1. ya...it was kind of a joke...but not really. The world has gone absolutely insane. As a funeral director I have seen FAR more overdoses the last couple months than covid deaths. What are we doing about that?

  2. When worlds collide. So, two good friends who have never met or spoken to each other brought together my dinner last night. The first friend provided a boneless skinless wild Turkey breast. The second (HeadHunter, thanks Buddy) gave me his homemade marinade recipe for domestic boneless skinless Turkey breasts. Queue the light bulb in my head.... The marinade was made and as instructed by my friend combined with the wild T breast meat and allowed to marinade for 48 hours. Today was the day to BBQ it, between rain showers. The marinade HH allowed me to share here is as follows (and it is delicious*)........ Boneless turkey breast, stabbed to death with a serving fork. Marinade: ¼ cup of the following; -white wine -orange juice -apple juice -oil… not olive! -Soya -teriyaki -crushed garlic -pepper… no need to add salt with the soya and teriyaki Overnight will work well, two days is better in the fridge. I have also frozen it in the marinade, defrosted overnight in the fridge with great results. Brown all sides on an extremely hot grill. Once browned, place on the cool side of the BBQ and brush with hoisin sauce every ten minutes until the turkey is done. Wrap and let sit for ten minutes before cutting into slices,, against the grain. J The noodle side dish sauce is as follows.......... 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 tbsp sugar 4 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp rice vinegar 3 tbsp pure sesame oil 1/2 tsp hot chili oil 4 tbsp Peanut oil * I double this sauce recipe and keep it in the fridge for convenience. I'll let the pictures take over from here.

  3. I'm guessing the "blanket" no you can't is thanks to the 100's of RV's that gathered in certain spots on Crown land. Generally the old gravel pit area on Rabbit Lake Rd South of Temagami has one or two trailers parked on it in a Summer. Last year there was close to a 100 jammed into the one spot like a small village. We were strictly flying back and forth last Summer, so we had no requirement to stop anywhere. Leah and I spotted MANY such places on Crown land down trails and logging roads, from Parry Sound to Temagami. Dozens and dozens of trailers congregated together where we'd never seen a single one in 16 years of flying the same route..

  6. Pretty soon they will be telling us to plug all our orifices. The only problem is they cant supply us with vaccines and they are turning their ineptness and uselessness onto us to solve the problem. Not our fault. Rant over and out

  9. Well hearing you tell me about your dislike for Turkey then telling me how awesome your marinade and BBQ process was I knew I had to try it. It's a home run for sure, thank you for sharing it with me and allowing me to share it here for others.

  12. When I did my bunks, I started with 2X6 pressure treated planks. Made a trough out of a poly tarp that would fit the planks. Put the planks in the trough and then poured enough Thompson's water seal to cover the planks. Let it soak for a week or better; then took the planks out and let them air/sun dry. (Salvaged the remaining Thompsons and used it on my back yard deck.) Once the planks were dry to the touch, I then wrapped them in a fairly plush indoor/outdoor carpet, securing them with galvanized staples. Once the planks were fitted to the trailer, I soaked the carpet with a silicon lubricant. Slipperier then goose crap! Lets just say I never undid the trailer's bow safety chain until the boat was floating at the launch. One of the member's here bought the boat & trailer from me; maybe he'll chime in to tell us how they lasted? Dan.

  13. Like when the dentist says "your teeth are ok; but your gums have to come out" So confused at times what to believe. Hard to decide at times whether "to go for a sh#t or wind my watch."

  21. This thing is about people not dying/having major complications. you can’t be scared of getting sick, we never were before. I get the flu shot every year and try to avoid contracting influenza. Unfortunately I’ve also caught a strain one year that was not covered by the shot, I got so sick that I was one dose of tylenol not lowering my fever away from calling an ambulance. I don’t expect nor should anyone else expect to live in fear the rest of our lives, we just need to get vaccinated, grind this thing out and get our numbers back to reasonable levels. Covid and especially these variants are still killing people upwards of 3-4% of the time. Numbers that are wayyyy too high. Young people are now being hospitalized and ventilated with the newer variants. what scares me most of all though is that the anti vax segment of society will become the permanent breeding ground of deadlier and deadlier variants until things become so sever and dangerous that young healthy people start dying en masse like during the Spanish flu. that might be the only thing that will finally get people to clue in though is when their kids start dying a lot.

  23. To save a lot of issues just remember the old saying You can't fix stupid Typically we have major issues in the end of Spring and end of Summer when people put their crafts in or out for the year. After a few times of being verbally abused after offering to help I just sit back and enjoy the show. Last fall I felt bad for the wife as she was taking a lot of verbal abuse from the dumbass who had a lot of anger and no brains. Again, "You can't fix stupid "
