A jig, that will descend slowly and retrieve . This one when asked by a member, had me puzzled at first, but in time,I was thinking of what his intentions were. I wanted to be sure this was just not a round ball jig. Wanted something that would look nice and realistic. Going through the isles at Cabelas,I found the perfect jig. Turns out they had both colors that was asked for. Shiner and perch. So not rushing into it,I looked at it in the vise and tried to visualize something. This was going to be a bit crude for the first one, plus I do not have heavy tying thread, Knowing that fly foam is very buoyant,I grabbed what I had,cut in 2, 1" strips. Wrapped the first one, 2X, just behind the head, the next behind it. It was crude, but will give me enough knowledge is it will work. Added Faux synthetic buck tail. I can not just drop In a pail of water,as I want to see the action on a line, so waiting for some open water here to give it a trial. I needed something else to give me a break from all these I like the looks, just need to see if it will work as he wants.2 points

I don't need any wiring, but maybe if you list where you are located that might help. My apologies if that is already on here somewhere...my computer skills are lacking2 points

We saw over 200 people in line at 12pm, and left! Good for the vendors though. Need a bigger venue for next year and maybe run over 2 days.2 points

Yeah, I talked to many who waited in line for 1-1 1/2 hours in order to get in! I guess they should look for a larger venue next year! I was insanely busy in there all day long, never had a chance to wander around even which probably was good for my pocket book! LOL The North GTA Tackle Swap on Sat. April 2 in Newmarket will have quality vendors and shouldn't be as crazy busy! Hope to see some members out there! Only a TOONIE or a donation of a non-perishable food item for entrance fee!2 points

Holly... the line up to get in was huge, across the parking lot, down to the next street and half a block down that one and it was the same when we left... much more than I expected and so crowded I really didn't have a chance to shop but good to see so many people out.2 points

Hey guys, just throwing this out there as spring arrives, I got into car stereo wiring in highschool and as my fishing passion took off I’ve now completely overhauled 3 boat’s marine electronics wiring systems including trolling motors, Humminbird and Garmin systems, networking and forward facing sonar amongst other projects helping friends with wiring their boats etc and have spent countless hours studying the perfect way to wire electronics for maximum output and clarity. im a boat electronics junky and I’m beginning to realize that this skill set is somewhat specialized, especially these days in as the car stereo industry has all but vanished. I’ve had some members inquire about wiring their own electronics and I’ve noticed that any companies working in this space making marine wiring harnesses such as sea clear power to me are 1. Extremely overpriced and 2 American based making it not the most accessible for Canadians. In simple terms, im offering a 100% plug and play wiring system customized for your boat that will allow your electronics to work perfectly once the harness is strung through your boat to wherever you plan on having your screens. So I’m throwing this out there to anyone listening, I could use a little extra cash at the moment to pay an expensive vet bill! I’ve been toying with the idea of making these wiring systems, even considering doing a little wiring as a side gig if there was any interest. So if anyone out there is interested or has considered upgrading their electronics but are intimidated by the idea of rewiring their boat please comment here or reach out, I’d love to have a chat about your application. Shoot me a message or comment here! *Edit - I never thought of this until now either, I’ve done a bit of car detailing on the side and can definitely offer that for boats as well! I can even high speed polish and re-surface fibreglass boats. from exterior cleaning, to interior, carpet cleaning and fibre glass treatments, shoot me a message, I’d love to talk about what you’d like your boat to look like! if you saw my 98 skeeter, you’d know what I’m talking about! im located in Georgetown and carling and can travel if needed.1 point

Good for you guys who choose to help. Everyone has a story and nobody wants to live on the streets. something has happened to these people to cause their lives to fall apart and I’ve heard from many that it is very, very difficult to break that chain and get back on top. I used to be the sorry no change guy because I felt it was just going to be used to buy booze or dope, but maybe they ARE hungry. Now I give. What’s giving a few bucks I’m gonna piss away anyway?? Do I really need it?1 point

Who knows, maybe there are lots. I have fished sae run brookies my whole life, and they are always right tight to shore. I mean like on the bank tight. I don't see anyone fishing them on lake O.1 point

You have plenty of room to move your winch forward . Your bunks should reach past the transom! After moving put a weigh scale under the coupler . You want about.... 10% of gross weight at the coupler! Cheers!1 point

Hi everyone, looking for some suggestions for new lakes for spring pike/walleye trip 3/4 from gta. We have been going to the same area and looking to try somewhere new this year. Would prefer a lake with size over numbers. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.1 point

I came home from work one day and just down the road from me there was a guy in an electric wheelchair scooter just sitting in the road ,so I pulled in my driveway walked down and asked if he had a problem . he said the battery died so I pushed him up to my driveway grab the extension cord and plugged him in then he asked if I had something he could drink. I said water or maybe a coke in the fridge. What no beer, would you have some rum for the coke maybe. No. Sorry While I wait for my scooter to charge would you happen to have an extra smoke. I don’t smoke but I may be able to get you one. ok I’ll have that coke too while you’re at it Charged him up and he left Two Days later there he was sitting in my driveway he says do you think you could charge up my battery again it’s a little low. Yeah sure I can do that’s no problem . Great thanks and could I have a cigarette and a Coke if you got one. No they’re not home today so I wouldn’t be able to get your cigarette I’ll see if I have a Coke. And I charged him up and off he went. The next day as I’m getting home there he is in my driveway already plugged in smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer. Seems my neighbour helped him out. Plugged him into my hydro and give him a beer and a cigarette ..and off he went . I talked to my neighbour ,I remove the extension cord and I was done helping this guy out. I don’t mind helping someone but I’m not going to enable him or let him take advantage of me Some people need help, others want everything they can get for free1 point

Ok a few things from my experience. A 25 yammie will troll as slow as any other sized outboard, with ease, smooth as can be, and quieter than the water pumping out of it, ALL DAY, no problem. The digital troll control is SWEET! ALWAYS get the max HP. Did i mention ALWAYS? I opted to get the lift assist with my 40 yammy (also a 16ft boat). Like said, I don't want my engine locked down while I'm in shallow water, or running unknown lakes. The beauty of lift assist is I can hit neutral, and push down on the tiller handle with one finger, and up comes my engine, then I can lock it in shallow drive and idle along until I know I'm safe. I use it TONS. Especially duck hunting. You can't run at speed that way, but if your on plane, you don't want to be trimmed up that high anyways.1 point

The lack of parking and the huge line turned my wife and I away. We BOTH wanted to see everyone and what the vendors had but I was not willing to waste 1/2 a day in line to be pushed out for a 3PM clse time so we left after seeing the line and tring to find ANY parking for 20-30 minutes. Wish I was able to walk in and see some folk but sadly not today...0 points
