Who doesn't love this time of year !! Just took these a few minutes ago.

I was at my buddy's trailer last week for some fall Crappies on Jack Lake. Took this shot off his dock! Beautiful!!!

Myself and a couple friends travelled up to Uchi Lake Lodge in NW Ontario this August and had an absolute blast. The lodge is located in the Ear Falls/Red Lake area and is a walleye factory to say the least . Pike are a very unutilized fish in this lake due to the high demand on the walleye.Catching 80-100 walleye per boat in a day was not a problem for us and the pike fishing was awesome as well. The average walleye caught was around 18-20” with the biggest being 27” As for the pike , several nice ones were caught with a 40” lost in the net boatside.....not my most brightest of moments LOL Lures of choice were your basic 1/4 oz jig in chartreuse or pink with a half dew worm for the walleye and for the pike , trolled deep diving cranks were the lures for the week. The lodge itself was great and had everything we needed and more including great staff to help us with any needs. Food was also amazing and plentiful so no need to go hungry at Uchi. It is also the only lodge on the lake which is a real bonus. The boats are clean and dry and powered by brand new Yamaha 4 strokes. Each boat has 2 or 3 padded swivel seats which are a real plus when you are out on the water all day. The lake itself is a large lake with lots of structure and bays to hide in if the weather gets nasty as well as a couple portage lakes that are always an adventure and full of walleye. So enough of the talk , let’s get into some pictures...... There you have it , a quick report on our trip up to Uchi Lake Lodge. As well I would like to give a quick thank you to Shayne and the rest of the Uchi family. One more thing , if a fly in to NW Ontario is something your thinking about go for it , the lodges up there really need your help with all the craziness of 2020 and if you need any info on Uchi send me a message or give the lodge a call and they will gladly help you out.

Who knew that a tattoo parlour was such a lucrative business! 🙄 Or I suppose there are OTHER ways to finance such a boat................

Hey OFC . Used to be active on this board about 13 years ago. Never really left but had been lurking for a longtime . The worst kind of member! Life went sideways and addiction got the best of me. Been clean for over 4 years now and busy fixing the 3 ringed circus that was my life. Finally figured it’s time to get back at er now that 2 of my boys are in university and it’s just the weeun at home. Reconnected with my old buddy Meeps and he got the musky fever back in my life . Been losing more big girls than I’ve landed , which is frustrating but I’m still on em and consumed with the thought of a 50” plus. Still early in the fall and lots of trips planned , I think I’ll get that 50” in the net soon! Pictured is a nice fish I got after losing 2 that day, Meeps was quick in the water and did the net work for me, held her up quick while I snapped a pic and back in the drink she went. Musky fishing is some sort of psychological mind F@(£ , from watching videos and trips to the local shop, online orders , countless hours on the water throwing lures as big as my dog and all around being consumed by these fish, I think I got the bug bad. The wee man has really caught the fishing bug and has been on me to catch his first Salmon , we’ve been down to our local spot a bunch and he just hasn’t tied into one yet. This morning while he and his buds opted to head out for smallies , I checked in with the apps and saw that there was a minor moon phase and wind conditions in my favour so back down to the local I go. Chucking spoons for a good 3 hours with not a whiff , decided to throw on the ole Rapala and first cast had a big girl smoke it. What a fight she put up. A bunch of runs and acrobatics and she finally hit the net. Some how I managed to have the front trebles in her , Thank God, as you can see she snapped that rapala in half. All in all the fishing has been great and amongst these crazy times I can always find my solstice down at the water. I’ll keep posting and appreciate all the members who have been doing so for years. Hey Guys, thanks for a great written report and pictures that have me drooling. NW Ontario is special to me as I feel more at home up there than any place I've ever been. In 1983, I started flying in for the walleye opener and the streak wasn't broken until 2020. Annual trips were 2 weeks to 6 weeks. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I know I should probly know this . Can I use the same backing line I use on my fly reel ,on a float reel ? I have lots of it right now. I just thought I might get away from buying new backing line for the new reel .

yup i heard this too... Judging by the video, i cant say he doesnt fit the bill...i mean to drive a boat like that and name it that, youve got to be a pretty huge d-bag of epic proportions? no?

Years ago I took my bud's young son (14 ??) out casting for muskies up on Nip and although he was an excellent fisherman he'd never netted a bigger musky. I made a cast and hooked this girl and jokingly told my young friend that if he messed up the net job he'd be swimming back to camp. I knew he was nervous and he even said he was afraid he'd lose it on me but he did and excellent job and got her in the boat but I'm sure I heard him let out a sigh of relief LOL

So he’s racist too. Hope they throw the book at him.
