  1. Past hour
  2. Hahaha, hey Fisherman, not intentionally, in my 7 story years, not that you guys are all as old, I try and keep my brain active, what's left of it anyway. I came across this back in the early 70's when I worked for a commercial fisherman and have surprisingly, never forgotten it.
  3. You trying to give us a brain tumour, lol.
  4. Today
  5. I understand you, my fellow anglers of the OFC have more important issues at hand, I don't even know why I thought of this. I expect some of you are familiar with it. Just thought it would be good for a laugh. Hope some of you get a kick out of it and can put it into words LOL. EMRFESHEMRNOTFESHEMR2FESHCDEDBDIZEWHALEOILBEEFHOOKEDEMAREFESH.
  6. If it climbs up the tree to get you, it's a black bear. If it knocks the tree down to get you, it's a Grizzly.
  7. Fish doesn't take as long so you have to drink faster.
  8. For sure Good around the roses 😜
  9. Well it IS the only fish actually worth chasing LOL
  10. I've suddenly ended up with a week off work so I'm considering getting a camp site at Restoule PP (may 21 to 24) and fishing Stormy and Clear lakes where I'll be perusing everything except muskie Anyone on here going as well? Notwithstanding the bug issue, any pointers on where to find fish? Wouldn't mind a few 'eyes or small lakers for dinner mixed in with bass/pike for fun. Cheers! P '
  11. North shore. Guests are coming from the Ottawa area.
  12. Any muskie thread of here gets attention especially from the long term members. Hope everyone is doing well.
  13. now were talking about stop watches and precisely timing how long fish are out...far easier to say, the fish is out of season, release it immediately. And yes, if your kid catches an out of season fish, its the perfect opportunity to teach them about fishing ethics and rules, maybe they will also become a steward of our resource.
  14. I'm sure your wife was a little curious to say the least. Hopefully they were re-located rather than shot which is the normal practice in BC. Last year over 600 bears were shot or killed by other means in that province. It sickens me.
  15. MNR trapped moma and 3 cubs at the highschool up the street from me today. My wife was wondering what was going on as she walked the dog past it all.
  16. As far as I know, only one person can have possession of the fish. Someone will need to claim it, and they'll get the summons/fine.
  17. Yesterday
  18. If 1 person, fishing with 1 or more other people in a boat, catches and keeps an oversize fish, does every person in the boat get fined? Thanks for the replies
  19. Yes but young kids and women are not as prepared men are and I said 2 minutes because a biologist doing studies on fish told me they try not to keep fish out of the water for more then two minutes ,even ones they put transmitters in
  20. Hello everyone, I'm going to a cottage on balsam lake from the 16th-20th, hoping to target some pike, walleye, and crappie. From what I've gathered I would guess that pike and walleye are post-spawn and in shallow water (4-10') sitting in the new emerging weeds, and crappie would be in bays, spawning possibly? Also, it might help to know we have a fish finder that has sidescan and can tell us the depth we're in. I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction regarding how to target any of these 3 species on balsam lake. Thanks again.
  21. Two minutes is pushing it. One should have everything ready in the event that you do catch something worthy of a photo that is going to be released, and released and revived properly.
  22. The Severn doesn't have a huge population of pike, if you're back there all you'll be catching are bass. I find the back bays off the main Severn river are better for crappie than the one way back in the slop. This time of year crappie are all dictated by water temp. Find the right temp, find the fish.
  23. Slippery slope. Possession limit vs out of season fish. This debate could go on forever lol. I think a little bit of common sense needs to be applied to the regs.
  24. Don't be! It was a great shot of a very happy young man. If picture taking is forbidden for an out of season fish then it's also forbidden for in season fish that are illegal to possess due to slot sizes regulations (as noted above). I've seen lot's of Musky (and Walleye, Bass, etc!) pictures here and else where of slot sized (no possession) fish in season, just saying.
