😆

Yesterday was my first outing on the ice here . Lots of bait, no whities . Was getting lots of tag hits on my larger blood worm for whities, so this morning, I tied up some smaller ones for the high hook .

They worked great. Just enough bait to chow down on for a lunch snack.  So so scrumptious 😋

In the mid to late 80s we would fish Simcoe specifically for those smelts.  Some of them were dandies!

And TASTY!

Smelt good eating when fresh.  We sure don't get them like we used to in the Niagara River. They also make great bait for pike and lake trout. Apologies for mess up just learning the site.

im still waiting to fool one of these fish on one of your high flies, had a perch attack on last trip out but incredibly did not get the hook somehow.

More importantly though Im hoping to fool one of these whities with one.
