Looks like Youtube is the place.  I kind of liked just setting the pvr and watching whenever - skip commercials, boring places.  Been doing it for years, VCR before that.  Thanks for the suggestions, will check them out.

Italo is one of the most annoying condescending waste of skin I've ever had the displeasure of knowing, just saying.  :D

I used to enjoy Babe and his wife. He went on to start a hunting show which I also found enjoyable. If I am not mistaken some time recently he fell out of a tree while trying to place his tree stand, spent some time in the hospital, almost didn't make it.

Hank Parker recently fell out of his tree stand and was in hospital. He fell 30 feet :( He posted about it on his Instagram page. That might be who you were thinking of?

That is who I was thinking of, man, can't believe I screwed up that bad.

I think the old bugger should be keeping his feet on the ground.

Fish'n Canada comes on Saturday morning and I sometimes watch it. Been on the tube a long time and it's still a good show without all the crap associated with some of the others.

I still see the odd fishing show on TV but they are all on standard definition channels which I refuse to watch so I can't comment on their content.

For a YouTube channel I like TackticalBasssin (good reviews on lures, equipment and techniques), NDYakAngler (great catches, not a screamer like some guys on fishin shows, very calm kayak fishing), Roland Martin Outdorrs and Fish The Moment (good sonar instructional channel).

When up on James Bay would spend plenty time tuning into the shows on weekends. Bob was always the best, although not being big on bass I'd often switch if it were those shows. Anything else, especially travel stuff, had to watch.

Adventures North could sometimes be pretty good.

Hooked with Marc Krupa... well, only lasted two seasons, he was a bit much but I don't think there were many other shows as well filmed as his.

Fishn'Canada got to be too many ads. Charlie Wray was just too many product plugs. Both could have the odd good location show though.

Dimestore when it was both Jim and Devon Funk, that was tough to watch.

The Auzzie guy, Urban Fishing or something, that wasn't too bad.

Surely missing some.

Fishing shows today are all about anglers playing with their new underwater high tech equipment.

you can learn all about a $10,000 sonar setup for your boat on almost all the fishing shows right now.

Gone are the fishing shows that teach anglers how to read the weather, the water, the structure of an area and why fish will be in a specific spot. On top of a structure, tucked beside it , suspended nearby etc. etc

Now you just fire up a massive array of sonar, up, down , sideways, left right, live action ……..  of course you need to spend $5-10k and spend most of the day playing with it instead of fishing.

Or you could just pull into an area and kinda know where to cast.🫢
