bigugli Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Whenever I warm up my frying pan I get the staredown. Casey and Baxter(the son's dog) are fed better than the Queen. The 2 have good taste too! Nothing like a perch dinner to keep us healthy..
livinisfishin Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Nice looking meal! Looks like those fillets came off of some decent perch!
Ralph Field Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Great looking dogs and perch taste great.
bigugli Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 They know you're an easy mark. Yuup! I also know that a regular diet of real fish and meat will make for long healthy lives
highdrifter Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Is that lard?! Cause if it is... your healthy diet is a little off the mark.. j/k
Big Cliff Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Who ever said "dumb animals" never owned a dog LOL.
RangerGuy Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 HAHA! Wow I thought that was just a Labrador thing! I get the same look when working from home, my 2 yr old black lab is a retrieving freak and doesn't get why when I'm home I'm not throwing something for her HAHA!
Governator Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Either that's a tiny pan or those were some biiig perch.

bigugli Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 Is that lard?! Cause if it is... your healthy diet is a little off the mark.. j/k Strictly oil. Haven't bought lard in nearly 30 years
bigugli Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 Who ever said "dumb animals" never owned a dog LOL. I forgot, you've met my son
aplumma Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Strictly oil. Haven't bought lard in nearly 30 years Why is it science keeps proving some of the best tasting things our parents got to eat get taken away from us. WELL NO MORE I am going to eat lard till it kills me because it makes things taste that good. Art
Richie Razor Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Why is it science keeps proving some of the best tasting things our parents got to eat get taken away from us. WELL NO MORE I am going to eat lard till it kills me because it makes things taste that good. Art I digress, peanut oil is the absolute tops for frying fish, and with a lot less trans fats.... Now if your eating a shore lunch, well then, break out the smoked bacon fat!!!!!
Richie Razor Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Actually cooking with lard sounds real good; http://www.foodandwine.com/articles/lard-the-new-health-food
bigugli Posted December 12, 2013 Author Report Posted December 12, 2013 Actually cooking with lard sounds real good; http://www.foodandwine.com/articles/lard-the-new-health-foodLike I said, I have not "bought" lard in over 30 years. Anything hydrogenated tends to be a bad choice. Does not mean I don't save my bacon drippings to mix in with my frying oil
highdrifter Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Strictly oil. Haven't bought lard in nearly 30 years Bah I'm just jealous.. It looks delicious Bruce!
Richie Razor Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 After reading that article I'll be looking for some real, non hydrogenated lard for my next fry!!!!
grimsbylander Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 I have a yellow lab that I swear is one chromosome away from being a seagull. Opening our frig door is like throwing French fries in a McDonalds parking lot. That perch looks awesome!
kickingfrog Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 I have a yellow lab that I swear is one chromosome away from being a seagull. Opening our frig door is like throwing French fries in a McDonalds parking lot. That perch looks awesome! Ya my black lab was the same. Man I miss that dog.

Crack open the jar of peanut butter and watch him charge into the kitchen
aplumma Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 While my lab was good at the cabinet noises I have a red tick coon hound that really tests the limits. I can put the dog outside eat a few jelly beans, let him back in and he will come over and look at me and then check the coffee table for his jelly bean. He has one heck of a nose for sure to watch him run the farm for scent is a pleasure to watch. Art
