So I've been having this discussion with friends. Who do you pull for after "your" team has been knocked out of the playoffs, assuming you don't have a back-up/alternate favourite team?

Let's say you're a Boston fan. Do you now cheer for the Rangers, because you want to see Montreal knocked out?

For me, I actually pull for the team that knocks out my team, which pretty much every friend of mine thinks is weird.

Here's my reasoning: I'd rather see the team that knocked out "my" team go all the way and win the Cup, so you can say "well, we lost out to the ultimate Stanley Cup Champions", rather than seeing the team that knocked out my team turn around and get knocked out themselves in the next round.

So, for instance, last year, even though I'm a Leafs fan, I was pulling for Boston to go all the way. And I really don't like Boston AT ALL.

I'm also a Montreal fan (blame a split family allegiance for this - my father's side of the family are all die-hard Leafs fans, and my mother's side of the family are all die-hard Habs fan, so I grew up loving both teams). So this year, I'm pulling for the Habs all the way. BUT after this last round, most of my friends who were Boston fans are now pulling for the Rangers, which to me is weird. They want to see the Rangers destroy the Canadiens. Revenge, I suppose.

Just curious how others view these things.

Being as classless as Boston is, you'll never find me cheering for them, ever. I'd cheer for Ottawa before them (I know, I can't believe I just said that). For me it's the next Canadian team in line.

Entertainment, skill and talent. Chicago is the only team left worth watching.

Hard to believe as a Noris division refugee I'd ever have anything nice to say about Chicago.

The Hunters were to our left.

This guy was to our right.

Good game, but it's tough when there isn't a true home team to get a lot of atmosphere in the building.
