kickingfrog Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Under the best circumstances Clarkson was going to have a tough time living up to that contract in his home town. The Leafs didn't expect him to score 35 goals a season but he hasn't even been doing enough of the character stuff. Maybe he turns it around after the break, but if he doesn't it might be a long summer of sports talk radio.
kickingfrog Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) Interesting note on the trade freeze during the Olympics as mentioned on tonight's broadcast. The players still get paid during the break so some teams might not be willing to finalize a deal before the break when they'd have to pay a player while they're not playing. Steve Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I personally don't believe half the teams in the NHL would take Clarkson at his current salary. who knows though. I just hope he steps up his play.
tb4me Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 They also mentioned the Sens are still hemorrhaging money and need to do something quick to right the ship..Id start by getting rid of their GM
kickingfrog Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 … Or getting more home games against the Leafs.
leaf4 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I really hope the leafs stop letting mclement up on the offensive rush, he's useless with the puck unless he's bringing it out of the d zone through the neutral zone
jedimaster Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Not a good first period. Let's hope Carlisle puts his foot down hard in the intermission. 19-4 out shot is not a good start. Bernier is playing great though. Knock on wood.
tb4me Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 were out hitting them 18-6 Dion down..Running 5 D if he doesnt return for the 2nd
BillM Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Clarkson earning that 5.9 million bucks!
kickingfrog Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Clarkson earning that 5.9 million bucks! That's the annual cap hit. He's being paid 8 mill, or so, this season.
kickingfrog Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 were out hitting them 18-6 Dion down..Running 5 D if he doesnt return for the 2nd Of course the Leafs have all the hits… The panthers aways have the puck.

jedimaster Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Haha, one would think. They are losing 2-0. Bozak could have put a bit of effort into that last goal. Bad play.
BillM Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 They haven't been this flat in a while... sheesh, they'll be lucky to squeak a point of this game.
BillM Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 This reminds me of a Sens home game! More Leaf fans in the crowd then anyone else ,lol.

lookinforwalleye Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 They haven't been this flat in a while... sheesh, they'll be lucky to squeak a point of this game. Don't you believe it they will be outshot 50 to something...and win in ot or shootout!!!

irishfield Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) Just can't believe the leafs year after year.. they go from astounding one night (Saturday for example).. to pathetic the next game.. year, after year, after year. Pretty sad... when one of the Leaf's fathers took his Jersey off in the public view.. Edited February 5, 2014 by irishfield
