Not sure how far you are going north, but I've been up at the Sault all week and was up in Wawa yesterday and Blind River today. Stopped to do some fishing between Wawa and the Sault yesterday and the black flies are thick !!!!

the blackflies have mostly given way to skitters here. the bugs are on the down swing from what they were. I was working out of town all week and didnt have to use bug dope.

Im in Wawa, and the black fly are friendly right now. We usually dont complain to much but we got some bug spray from the states with 98% deet....shhhhhh! They are real bad, not hot, up here just wet...feels like living in a cespool (sp) of black flys!

Don't let my 13 year old daughter hear you guys saying stuff like this...she leaves tommorrow for a 2 week or so raod trip up to Thunderbay with a friend of hers and thier grandparents for some camping,fishing and boating.....hmm wonder if I can sneak in there :whistling::lol:

Has anyone ever tried garlic pills? I've heard the blackflies leave you alone if you eat a lot of garlic. Of course so does one's wife so pick your poison

 

I heard that too...i also heard if you eat bananas black flies and sqeeters are attracted to you????

Im at camp right now... um... its early July... prime time for all nasties...
