I wish you all the best Rick, and look to a full recovery. Brings to mind a guy called Lance Armstrong; he is a cylist who had Testicular Cancer. He made a full comeback, and won the Tour de France 7 yrs in a row. So go to it Rick.see you at L,air next year

What's the matter Guy's? afraid to face the inevitable ? It WILL come. Got to me when I was 71. Too much effort to hook up the boat, launch it, then get it back on the trailer. Knots are'nt real problem, just takes a bit longer. Dont see the point in getting cold or wet just to catch a fish anymore, bin there. done that. Priorities have been re-arranged, I still go fishing when it suits ME. Fortunately I'm not stuck in a five days a week job,and only got w/ends to fish. Size of fish no longer matters, I get a kick out of a good sized 'Gill on 4lb line, as i did with a 5/6lb Bass on 20lb No, I havent quit fishing yet, but its getting close

quote name='glen' date='Sep 17 2008, 06:52 PM' post='250628'] Fisherman is right. You can put used bearing back into the same races they came out of. But never mix them up. After diving a 1/2hr or so get out and put your hand on the hub to check for heat. Warm is ok. Hot is trouble. Right now your bearings and seals are all cooked. I bought a tent trailer this year equipt with AL - Kousa hubs and Ultrulube bearings. After # or 4 trips back to the dealer for HOT bearing problems, we finally got to the Tech.Dept of AL-Kousa. They quoted an operating temperature range of 110 - 160degs. I STILL think its hot, but, that is their specification. Sorry if I hi-jacked this thread, but if anyone gets these Hubs/Bearings, you'll know the situation.

I never got to meet Gary personally, but he was one of the first to give encoursgement during my recent Prostate problem. A very generous man in more ways than one, as many Members can attest RIP Gary, and my heartfelt condolences to his family. -
I have to go along with Terry ! If you get the Impeller replaced, cost? and then have to pay BIG bucks to fix the motor, you would prolly find a newer/used one for less bucks. It sounds like #1 cylider is fried unfortunatley........but,as you know I'm not a mechanic. Good luck!!
-
Congratulations Roger ! Only you are semi-retired. Retirement means clearing up all the jobs that on the back burner, THEN get a part time job to get you out of the house for a rest. Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I had my 40hp / Bass boat, I would pull the plugs and put dead ones in. Never thought about the in-line fuse Insurance is a must of course.
