Checked the ducks nest this morning. No duck...........no chicks, just 6 empty eggshells scattered arount the nest,1 about 10' away. Hope the chicks got away ok and not breakkie for something. Ahh well, thats nature at work I guess.

I've noticed a Mallard hen around my property for a few days. Took notice of where she went, and this morning found her sitting on a nest, presumably on eggs. We are a 10 min. walk for me from the nearest water.and she is in pretty rough brush. I dont think the chicks will make it that far, plus the factor of Hawks and wild animals. What would you do. No....I dont like duck eggs for Brekkie!!!!

John; You dont have to "get my logic" Its a well known fact that gas in the Maritimes is always more expensive than Ontario. Delivery costs I presume ?

And its only the thin end of the wedge. Its been predicted that oil will be $ 200 a barrel by next year. I'm driving to PEI next monrh for a vacation, prolly our last long trip for a while. Gas is usually higher on the Island. But, at least, their Govt pegs the prices. Time they did it in ALL the Provinces.

That was a great bunch of Guy's [and Gals ] that showed up. The Guy's deserve a Medal for the work they did in those conditions. It made ME cold iust watching, and made me glad I'm a bit long in thr tooth for that kind of work. Well done Guy's Cliff, thanks for the Barbie, enjoyed every bite !!

I posted a while ago that I had a carb. problems, and Big Cliff said he could take look at it. True to his word, he came over this morning, cleaned the carb and checked out the whole machine. What a Guy !!.....Thank you Cliff P.s. Nice of you to bring Beans with you, havent seen the pair of you for a while. Ya both looking good.
