  1. Real beauty of a walleye Quinte rocks for ice fishing. Hang on as the sunsets there is a good chance of a big walleye. Tipping a jigging rap w/ minnow head works well.
  2. Thanks Lew, glad you enjoyed the former reports. The pike were caught at Leslie Spit end of March back in 2003 Time sure flies. Here is a pic of the fattest buddy Dave caught.
  3. Thanks for all replies! Most of those fish were caught in 2008 and 2009 where i am wearing the black hoodie. We will get out this winter no doubt when the conditions are right. If you can do it i will go. Hard to launch a big boat with Frenchmans Bay frozen. Your buddy with the Alumacraft had to break ice at Bluffers then go for the long haul across lake just to fish there. It was worth it he said.
  4. Thought about setting up a quick strike rig for pike at the main lagoon on the spit. Never did it though. Caught many big pike there from a boat in late March, thinking they must be under the ice in the winter as well.
  5. Very thoughtful report, nice fish for the gf
  6. Thanks Jacques, couple of hardy french canadian boys there enjoying fishing. Thanks Wayne, look after my daughter first getting out fishing is close second. That gives me the drive
  7. Every winter would try to get out on L.Ontario for some primo fishing, when the wind was light and right direction. Haven't done it yet this year but hope to when it all falls into place. With the lack of fishing reports thought i would post some past winter fish from 2003-2009. Wish i was there fishing now... Browns... It is cold out there White Bass... Many doubleheaders Walleye Bass are caught mostly OOS Lots of sheepshead Even carp hit lures in winter Over half a decade of winters mixed here. Looking to get out to give this a try again soon.
  8. What a great year you guys had, awesome. Thanks for sharing these fishing adventures with us.
  9. Interesting post Dude and great replies! You should start keeping a journal to keep track of the stats and success rate, according to location and conditions. That should remind you of the little things that may be missed. Really you should do it. Remember this... For instance, last year 13 inch jointed musky baits produced in the Kawarthas. Trolling rattletraps in 10-15ft caught the most bass, not spinnerbaits tossed at shoreline structure. Having a journal would clearly remind. lol A clear enthusiasm and passion for the sport helps me remember. I always tried to do an online report(still will) to share this passion. Last couple of years haven't fish much but will. Great replies!
  10. This thread seemed resolved long ago but i would agree with Big Cliff, any cops i have interacted with has been genuinely positive. When my sister died in a car accident, the officer who came to my workplace told me and quietly and compassionately led me through this nightmare(coroners office, then parents to break news, etc). I will never forget this person and the help they gave me, kinda like an angel.
  11. Old school report Nice fishing!
  12. Lots of nice fish and good times are shown there. Great meeting you when on the lakefront walking with my daughter. She sensed you were a good guy

    UFC 125

Unbelievable that Frankie Edgar survived that first round pummeling. Lots of great fights! This link has been working great for last year or so for viewing. http://www.atdhe.net/
  14. Sorry for this great loss Phil. A legacy of pride and outdoor activity has been left for you to cherish.
  15. The cool thing is your icefishing for bass. This is something completely new with the Zone 17 rule changes. Has anyone else tried this?
  16. One of the most original artist of last half century, died last night of complications from multiple sclerosis. RIP Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart. Always ahead of his time. With Ry Cooder playing slide guitar on beach at Cannes Film Festival 1968
  17. Excellent report! 12 hours out in a boat at this time of year is hardcore. Nice rare lower Niagara musky.
  18. I don't think a rainbow was dumped like garbage in Simcoe. Probably came from Georgian Bay way. An incredible story must had been a thrill. Ya, a picture would have been cool but you were targeting dink perch.
  19. Thanks Peter, this is exactly what i am going through. No back pain but my right leg is extremely tender in back of thigh to back of calf. Need an hour or so in morning to stretch into standing position. The MS is primary disability but the sciatica has doubled disability. Will keep all replies in mind as i journey through this.
  20. Thanks Beans! The MS has taken out my left side now the sciatica has taken out right leg kinda puts me in same situation. This is the route i am going to try initially. Acupuncture, taping and massage seems right, just a gut feeling. That it worked for you and your mother under those circumstances is very positive. Anyone have tips on overcoming multiple sclerosis? LOL
  21. Wow, thanks for the quick and useful replies. Haven't found the root cause yet. Just one treatment so far. Apparently losing muscle strength around vertabrae due to MS. Will see how it goes. Ya,the Kirkland stuff is the cheapest and best for Ibuprofen and Cod Liver Oil(coffee too) i take. Will check this stuff out even though the presription stuff i am getting is like heroin, but not working. Thanks for the tips on positioning to relief pain, that stuff should help. The worst part is in the morning, need to get up a couple hours before my daughter just to be loosened up enough to stand up. Hoping to avoid surgery but if it truly helped it might be only option. Thanks for heads up. Always thought when people spoke of sciatica they were whiners. Now i know different, doing lots of crawling in mornings until bit of stretching effort starts helping. Thanks for replies, i can see light at end of tunnel. Unfortunately ice fishing is done due to MS but still look forward to mid winter softwater fishing on Lake Ontario in boat, once sciatica subsides.LOL
