  1. Count me in the minority that loves the Honda Ridgeline. When it's time to ditch my current ride that's what I want
  2. Great report as always. Thanks for taking the time. Always appreciated Gordy PS every post deserves some Tool references. Lol
  3. Loved the report. The part about celebrating a 16th birthday is very cool. Awesome for son and awesome for Dad Thanks for sharing!
  4. I had an old wetskins that was a hand me down for a few years. Was great for keeping dry and for a day of fishing When we started doing week long trips I found it very hot and uncomfortable over the course of a week and not very warm on cold rainy days so I upgraded to a bass pro pro qualifier suit. I love it, and it's much more comfortable than the wetskins but it was also about 6 times the price lol So I think it depends on your needs. On our trips you've paid a lot of money to fish so sitting in the cabin isn't an option but for a day trip here and there is didn't mind the wetskins. One big pita on my wetskins was no zipper on the bibs make sure you have a zipper. Cheers Gordy
  5. Wow. Due to a shortage of time this am I didn't get the chance to grab a paper to read at lunch. Bunk to the rescue lol I would consider myself well read and your reports stack up to some of my favourites Bunk. You have a way w words and photos but yet still impart wisdom throughout. Really enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to post a report. Can't be easy I am sure Cheers Gordy
  6. Great report - thanks for sharing
  7. wow. Somehow I had missed this thread and just spent a very enjoyable 20 minutes reading the whole thing while putting my daughter bed. So many outstanding details but what stands out is how much of a family trip it is for you and your crew. You and your sons must have many many great memories that I bet get shared over and over again Very sorry to hear about your wife. Best of luck to you all. Thanks for sharing this. Gordy
  8. For sure. Have had the pleasure 3 times but 1st show some 20 years ago or more at Varsity was a kicker. Like you wishing for new tunes!
  9. Thanks for a great report We are actually looking at Mattice for a trip next year and similar to Gringo surprised about th cabin as across 4 or 5 forums I have never seen anything but raves about Mattice as an outfitter. I will say you are one of ththe first I have seen about Vick. Perhaps it's not a well used cabin Anyway glad you enjoyed and thanks for the honest report I know for us being the only guys on the lake is in a word priceless Cheer Gordy
  10. Great report - looks like it was a solid opener Thanks for sharing techniques as well - flipping for largemouth is something I always mean to try but never do Gordy
  11. Great report - looks like your son had a stellar intro to your home waters
  12. I dont reply to your threads often enough - love the videos but family time in the boat is about as good as it can get! Life up North looks appealing - in summer lol

  16. Just want to make sure I am correct. Bass opens on the 3rd Saturday in June. So today is first sat so bass opens Sat June 17th. Correct? Planning on fishing on the Monday after so prior to bilking work off Cheers Gordy
  17. I have done two trips to Lady Evelyn both ended on labour day weekend First trip was to Ellen Island and our results were exactly yours. Lodge owner wasn't able to help much w spots and we had a massive cold front. Only fished the Ellen island section of the lake Second trip stayed at Island 10. Owner very helpful marking spots, so we're other guests, much closer to fishing the other section of the lake and more stable (albeit 80 to 90 degrees every day without much wind) and our results were way better Would say both trips we did do well w smallmouth Anyway I would go back and if you decide to happy to mark up a map of where we had success We also did Brennan Harbour Lodge on Lake Huron and did better than Evelyn. A key for us was hiring a guide our first full day fishing. The only thing that was dicey is the big water. Easy to get blown off the lake if weather rolls in Cheers Gordy
  18. Some of my faves Oban Scapa Highland Park Aberlour 12 Cragganmore And I have a Talisker Distillers edition which is great Truth be told though my favourite sipping drink is just Johnnie Walker Black over a cup full of ice Cheers Gordy
  19. Hit the show today with my brother in law Was pretty good and at the very least got our juices flowing for the upcoming season Stopped by the Handlebarz booth and met Pete Very funny since I had just posted about watching him on Muaky Hunter. Pete was great meeting you. Thanks for the lure pick and the tips for musky in the Kawarthas Hope u get the call for more Saric trips. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy Cheers Gordy aka Andrew
  20. So my brother alerted me to the fact that this weekends Musky Hunter was called "Balsam Bruisers" If I had to pick a home lake it would be Balsam so I was excited to tune in PVred it and watched last night only to realize that Saric's guests were none other than Fisherpete(I am about 90% on this as they just called him Pete lol) and Cowanjo (John Cowan) who used to post here a fair bit and has been on Musky Hunter before Was a great show - no real monsters caught but lots hooked and a few brought in including a small tiger - really enjoyed it - way to go Pete and John Cheers Gordy

  24. In responding to the original post I browse a lot on my tablet and phone (like now) and i am useless at typing with it drives me crazy I will go through the pain of responding if I can add value but dont to say nice report I try to report when I can the 3 times I've fished this year I did reports but for those i usually borrow a laptop I do appreciate all of the active posters. Many of the trip reports for resorts and fly jns have helped us immensely But i am guilty of reading and in most cases not saying anything and I am probably showing as a guest 60% of the time Cheers Gordy
