I have owned both Islander and Kingpin and there is no comparison in my opinion. You couldn't give me an Islander that I would fish with, I had trouble with the one I bought new and have read too many horror stories about people and their Islanders. Some Islanders are suppose to run good, but I haven't seen one yet that I would run over my Kingpins or Riverkeeper.

I agree with those that believe that fish don't experience the same sort of pain that humans do. They do however build up lactic acid in their system as they are fought which can lead to their death after a prolonged fight with a fisherman using too light a line for the targeted species. Land fish as quickly as possible if you practise catch and release.

I agree with the above, pick up the motor and take it to a different shop.

You did well to average 4 or 5 fish a day on the French, as the river isn't as good today.

If you can address the issues that is one thing, but if you have to pay to have them fixed a newer boat may be the answer.
