  1. Esso was around $1.18 around Bayview/ Eglinton this afternoon. Saw somewhere else diesel was $1.35 !! ouch
  2. lol, went to public school around the corner from 'that place'. classmate's dad ran it, lost track of her, was a cutey, but then I was only in grade 5 or 6. area is kinda same but the waverley brings in some sketch, different kind of sketch and not the good ones. area will be gentrified eventually and with it will go another piece of toronto. too bad only the rich can afford to buy downtown now man, you're making me miss my youth skipper
  3. Congratulations on shaking off the shackles ! Along with others here, I envy this move you're making and look forward to reports with lots of photos. Relatively close to Pukaskwa, Missinaibi, and endless crown land in all directions...yep, mid life crisis Get a nice size sled, make a komatik with hdpe runners and life will be sweet in the winter.
  4. The Victory Burlesque Theatre and Shopsy's...ah the memories. So different today but same immigrant experience for many newcomers to this great country. The big old church on the s/w corner is long gone but good dim sum on the fourth floor at Sky Dragon though
  5. They didn't ask for your res card or are you status ? The odd time I've been in Ohsweken, I've always been carded when getting gas. Thinking my next personal ride is going to be diesel.
  6. You did indeed Joey but it's all worth it when the bite is non existent, the craptastic weather is dropping rain the size of Glossettes and it's just the two of you in the boat with nothing but clean lures to show for the day
  7. Image the video if he had an underwater camera for that ! hope the bass recovered
  8. you're going to have a hard time getting him out of the boat yano
  9. Buster, Buddha, Linebacker,Waldo (?)
  10. Lew, Hope you didn't squirrel away any money above ceiling panels or under floorboards
  11. fingers crossed that the days ahead bring very good news for your mom
  12. I know I just had breakfast but DAMN, this photo is making me hungry again !
  13. This has always been my understanding as well Lew. Probably has to do with the different stresses and flexion sidewalls undergo. I'm not a tire expert so ymmv
  14. x2 wow. it's not like you're looking for a freebie but seriously...that would be the last time I took anything to his shop. If it was my relo, I'd have done it for free or at least give a break but that's me ps-didn't know plugs are now illegal. Last time I was in Noëlville with a slow leak, they plugged it up nice, too bad. anyone know the reasoning ?
  15. Never used a municipal launch, but do they have someone similar to a dock master who can basically crack the whip or fine someone who's taken their sweet time hauling their boat out ? and Mercman, i know some folks who, if they encountered this no hablo dude, would be a bit more 'encouraging' in getting said tool to move. Nothing extreme or illegal obviously but the message would be pretty hard to ignore.
  16. Great end to the story Dara ! Would hurt to lose a nice setup like that to the lake gods. On a related note, does anyone have any experience with the foam rod floats that BassPro has in their catalogue ? Or is that just too noobish Be great if someone could fab a small self inflating float in the butt end, kinda like Mustang auto-inflate pfd's but for rods.
  17. Is he allowed to run tic tocs if he's going to a paid duty assignment ? I was impressed with the female officer and would hate to piss her off.
  18. that's a very cool one Colin !
  19. I'm still recovering after checking out Craig's blog. Do so at your own risk, you have been warned http://fishingcrap.blogspot.com/
  20. Toronto police services pays pretty well and paid duty is just extra income afaik. As for the states, no idea but wouldn't be surprised if the pay was not as decent as up here.
  21. not Muskoka but how about this place. Boated past it this summer and it kinda stood out beautiful scenery and guests can hit pike and musky after the nuptials lol http://www.sf-nipissing.com/
  22. Don't understand carpets either and if slipping on vinyl is a worry, just stick some anti slip tape down. They come in clear or white so that should make them stealthy and they're fairly weather resistant as well. The ones on my front porch have seen all manner of weather and heavy foot traffic and still have great stiction. Yep Skipper, the Mink line looks pretty good. First saw them while heading up 69 and they sure catch the eye don't they.
  23. thanks LFW, Changing oil will be my next to do chore after I pick up a quart or two. Changed the gear lube this summer so guessing I can deal with that next spring. WB
