Not sure this is the sword I would fall on myself, but I'm not in his shoes with a business to run. I do understand the draw of the Park but there's a boatload of crown land up there so why get in a pissing match with the government ? Running sleds in the Park has been an issue for some years and it does appear that the park page is confusing when it does show sledding as an activity. Guessing no one updated it ? I hope he considers editing his video so it's less rant.

couple of years. and yeah, people will hear you screaming down the lake lolol . pretty miserly with gas from my experience. for back lakes, this is ideal, or for those springs trips to North Tea in Algonquin.

have one as well and it's been described when wot, accurately imo, as 'a swarm of angry bees' lol, but the weight and air cooling are big features

never had the honour/ privilege of meeting her but regret not buying one of her fish prints, they were absolutely beautiful.

Quetico is just amazing, so fewer people than anything down here, esp compared to Algonquin. no signage anywhere but portages and campsites obvious. fishing is great. some of the campsites were the best I've ever had the privilege of setting my tent upon. pro tip - bring a metal trowel with a serrated edge on one side. makes digging catholes less aggravating

if you have the money and plan to freeze A LOT, I'd buy a chamber vacuum sealer. I have a Foodsaver and reuse the bags and it does the job very well, but its a mess trying to seal liquid items (unless one froze it beforehand). Chamber sealers can bag liquids, but they cost waaay more than Foodsavers. and get the unit with built in roll cutter.

Left or right retrieve and left or right handed person
woodenboater replied to Canuck's topic in General Discussion
never really got the 'cast with one hand, then switch over to retrieve' method. Also since my right is stronger, prefer that for rod handling where I want more control/finesse. does make it harder when looking for used reels in the classifieds lol -
I can't give you enough props for this Chris ! let's hope Google brings this thread to the top of their searches for xwrp. stinking snakes they are

much happiness and health to everyone here and may the space under your trees be brimming with presents. keep in mind as well, those who are less fortunate and to be grateful for what we have

brush cutting blade on a weed trimmer
woodenboater replied to super dave's topic in General Discussion
I have the Ryobi gas trimmer with chainsaw, cultivator and brush cutter attachments. The brush cutter is three bladed and cuts like the devil through most vegetation. tbh tho, it doesn't seem to like anything thicker than maybe an inch (I think) but will still level it. -
I think many of us have boated without wearing our pfds and I've done that as well. wearing one needs to become a habit not unlike seatbelts. I hope there's something that can be learned from this. rip BFSC

think it's reply about another member talking about how unusual/rare it is for young people to have cardiac issues, aneurysms or strokes. Age is a factor but sometimes it's genetics. Had a friend young woman (under 30), full of life, suffer a debilitating stroke. She's no longer who she was and is mostly non responsive. as well, the point of wearing a pfd, is that if there is a health issue, it will keep you on the surface at least and thusly, easier to rescue/ recover. also I do hope they can confirm the identity so that the grieving process can begin for the family. such a tragic loss of life...

quite a few members I who seem to have gone dark. Mike from Cornwall who posted a lot about muskies is one.

yup. my chainsaw has been drinking this stuff for years but I still carry reg mixed and bar oil in those combo cans if I'm in the bush for a long day. sometimes you can catch a sale at TSC for cheap. but also saw Home depot now carries it in 4 litre cans ! this is for the 1:50 mix tho

Waterwalker has a really good soundtrack (Hugh Marsh and Bruce Cockburn) and shows some great scenery of Lake Superior and its rivers.

I'm so sorry for your loss OI. With your support and those of his family, I hope your dad can find peace knowing her suffering is over. On the dnr, my dad died after we asked the doctors for no heroics and to let him go. It was a tough decision for us but the best for him as his chances were next to none.
