  1. that sort of rise does seem out of whack. Maybe one of the readings you got was from a faulty gauge unless you used the same both times. should only go up maybe 20% tops. And yes it is normal for tires to fluctuate from 1st thing in the morning, and only takes 10-15 min to reach proper operating temps.
  2. maybe no safety course where he lives for sure. I too thought it was somehow staged but "funny" nonetheless
  3. epic 9 and 8.5 games back, never before and never again.
  4. should be one soon as there were quite a few earlier in the year. I say October. and will apply to most items not on "special" and lately not applicable to CanGoose, but was at one point not too long ago.
  5. ok I'm slow and had to listen to it mute but why is the deer wearing a vest??
  6. Got my reels today, 1 week pretty good. Reels BTW are super smooth. They say daiwa all over them
  7. this is what happens when your mind wanders and neglect the useful search tool.
  8. J, might I ask if that is Ray in your top two shots? I haven't seen him in months WRT PnS I too have gone back to them. I use a panasonic waterproof for my fishing and a GF1 micro for the rest. about a year ago I sold off all my Nikon gear save for a 50mm which works on my micro. Had a D700 with some nice glass but found it was usually the one left behind, so that's where I'm at currently. There are days when I miss firing off a ton of frames for sports and the like, but not very often. The quality form the micro is fantastic for my needs for now.
  9. It's pouring out now and looks like river is out of the question for the time being, so thought I would ask everyone here what's in a name? More specifically your display name (username) and how or why you chose it. Some are yes very obvious, but those that are more obscure, please share if you like. Mine, it's a play on words from a CBC radio host during the afternoon drive. Been listening to him for a couple years and really enjoyed his show and music and my buddy also messes up his name all the time. He thinks it sounds like "registerfry" (his name is Rich Terfry and fellow hosts and guests poke fun at the name). This is also the same guy (my buddy) who penned Patrick Swayze's song "She Breaks The Wind". Kinda caught on and I added "fly" cuz I started fly fishing before spin. your turn, and here's hoping the rain eases up, only 7 days left...
  10. Nice to see someone else using pontoons. I've got a 12ft Dave Scadden fitted for 2 and it absolutely was the best investment I made for fishing outside of fishing with my 13 yr old. BTW I still remember when my guy was the same age as yours and I would chuck him up as high as yours. Mine just made the scared look everytime I did it. Now he picks me up. enjoy this time.
  11. that was quick, clicked on their international shipping on my reels and was 2-3 weeks was yours sent here or you pick up by the border?
  12. Itunes please. costs less then what used to be 45's, and although Apple gets most of the $ the artists are at least getting some percentage share. It's the right thing to do.
  13. For our (13 yr old son and myself) first real fishing season, I'd say we fished quite a bit. Not the numbers quantity wise like some of you but learned our fair share. Bought a guide pontoon in the early spring and wasn't able to get her into the water due to a crappy May, but once we did it was like both days each weekend. Mainly smaller lakes and reservoirs. I would have to say the young guy has a knack or passion for the sport. Outfishes me and the buddies this year, and looks like the patience is setting in. Blow by blow of the season. Ice fishing mainly Simcoe. This season we are all geared up with hut on order and new heater (we're wussies in the cold) WaterFalls Lodge trip-great LMB/SMB/and pike. 3.5 days of complete fishing. Rice Lake walleye opener, brought home 8 between a couple guys and many SMB that went back in L Ont charter ended up bringing in plenty of salmon and rainbows. Kid got the largest again just under 30lb or so. Island Lake, Scugog, Mounstberg, Valens, Ken Whillans, we hit them all multiple times. Would have to say majority of fish were pike and LMB. Thanks to fellow member Roger, spent almost a full week up at his beautiful cottage fishing SMB and pike to end off August. Kid won the min derby we there too. Been hitting the Grand and Credit as of late with good success. SMB and freshwater tarpon (mooneyes I was told) on the Grand. Beautiful browns on the credit. that leaves us with steelies for the fall. enjoy the rest of the season, might post up some pics later on if I can.
  14. Nice smallies there, got me some as well today in probably the same river. cheers
  15. Couple tourney reels ordered, great deal for a Daiwa. thanks OP for the heads up.
  16. best bet for walleye is below the dam I've been told. will fish that section this weekend on my pontoon from Bean Park down. Other than that you should be able to hit pike and smb. smb mainly.
  17. bass, perch and rock bass so far for me, oh and pumpkinseed too
  18. +2 I never tire when he outfishes me, which is most days
  19. I think it worked perfectly. All newfies rejoice!!
  20. LOL I couldn't have said it any better
  21. Decided to ditch work today instead of tomorrow as rain is in the forecast. Good idea as you can see. The young man decided to do all the heavy lifting for Dad today. enjoy first of the day dang that sucks, best rods on earth NOT
  22. heights give me the willies and buck seventy five is a lot of money.
  23. Kelso I initially thought didn't hold much fish. But recently we caught onto LMB and perch and pumkinseed. Also got a strike from some bright red fish which we never hooked. Another spot also held some decent size bass, approx 14". There doesn't seem to be any current listing of recent stocking efforts, but now am interested to see where the SMB are. weekend trip in order...
  24. I too switched over recently and am a total convert. My wife unfortunately still goes to Timmies. I love the Med coffee with $.20 muffin. Can't resist the muffin.
