  1. I don't know what to say other than CLASSIC story for the future. awesome
  2. don't be a hater, I wanted to see the opening ceremonies, and besides at least there is a reason to watch when they are in contention, as opposed to the spring
  3. Phew found it on SN which had it listed as Alpine Skiing
  4. what the hell are we blacked out in TO??
  5. unfortunately Monday is the travel day for many of us. Most friends of ours as well as our group would love to be able to head up early Friday and get in a day of fishing or even late afternoon evening bite. Would have thought most lodges would support a decision like this.
  6. not a direct comparo but I have 2 cabela branded Daiwas from a couple seasons ago before they changed to the current make. and they are absolutely fantastic. As much as I like shimano and own them, these particular ones are head and shoulders above the shimano. not to mention the newer crop of shimanos are cheaper made and inferior to the ones from a couple seasons ago. You don't get price drops like they have had without compromising somewhere.
  7. everything has been reduced ever so slightly with no or very little price increases. Ice cream for example now comes in strange sizes like 1.6L but you're paying for what was 2L pricing. Same with OJ, it's rampant practice in the food industries. maybe the weeners are just trying to catch up with the deficient bag of buns...
  8. Icom or SH are tops. Icom slightly better quality but SH have all bases covered with features. The better SH models float, which I think is a major priority when I am out on my yak. I ended up with a SH 851 and 751 for my son. Both float and have lit seals when wet so you can find them in low light. The 851 has rudimentary GPS as well. $ wise, Icom slightly more $ for comparable models.
  9. as others have stated it is for the trap. For the laundry tubs they I believe are code so you need to purchase the correct type of faucet with the line out. I also found out after the fact and had to return a standard 4" faucet for the correct version. Problem is you can never find a nice one for the specific purpose.
  10. I got the swaggerwagon. No issues at all but I only have 94K on mine. Great for loading up all the fishing gear and then some for 4 guys. I also tow a yak trailer with it (not that dinky Yakima one) and transported my pontoon on the roof. Love it much more than my Odyssey.
  11. X2 tubes rock, so smooth and clean
  12. yes pilot one if hand is too much. Always by hand since a drill would be more space taken up.
  13. another case of getting used to a TO sports team losing. OTOH the Jays look exciting this upcoming season
  14. at those prices you can be GUARANTEED they are FAKE. No legit retailer be it brick and mortar/online is allowed to discount CG as it is not allowed by them. As was mentioned in earlier post, LeBaron is the best bet with your card. The Richmond Hill location moves a ton of them.
  15. mathematical or not, I personally don't understand why we as a life form are looking so hard for "life" as we know it elsewhere in the universe. I mean aside from unexplored regions of say our oceans to explore, whats to say that "life" can't take up some other makeup to be viable that is totally foreign to us? I mean we see it in science all the time of organisms evolving to suit it's environment, and humans do as well to adapt. So why not have a life form elsewhere that has adapted and evolved to live in their specific part of the universe that doesn't rely on what we need to live?
  16. let us know how you make out, should be warm weather this weekend. might take the yak out
  17. Gagnon is ONLY ok if you are local, can plan to purchase many items on sale at the same time to make it worth the 1hr drive from GTA. "personally" I would much rather save the gas money and shop LeBaron and or Sail and then Bass in that order. If you are shopping cost, LeBaron is almost always the best for that. If you want better service, I find all three are on par and find uncaring and ignorant salespeople the same across the board, then spend any amount of time and $ in any of them and you can strike a repoire and get the service you want. I realize there are LeBaron HATERS out there but I honestly love it. My son and I go there quite a bit and know half the staff, almost like Norm walking into Cheers. YMMV
  18. portable WRT FF means no size 27 battery to lug around, so yes to the 12 v little guys and in the case of the Lowrance dry cells if you must but PITA really.
  19. yeah stay away from the HT hut, my buddy went through 2 of them last year. He just grabbed an Eskimo Quickfish last week like ours.
  20. mini marathon tonight as no new episodes this week. all very funny and contrived at the same time. but nonetheless watch all shows. Si is priceless.
  21. this isn't hype, guaranteed at least. I did my US shopping Monday, got some good deals, no lineups anywhere and great day to play hookie with the wife. I don't believe there is anything in this world that would be worth the line ups involved unless they were giving away organs, and it was my blood type. (body) And if they open at 12am, they're late. This year they are starting between 8 and 9pm, THURSDAY during dinner. Some states workers have set up protests about the earlier hours despite holiday pay.
  22. beat me to the punch. do you have reason to doubt? hopefully this is true
