  1. It's after an term in office when history reveals whether the candidate was the right choice. Not after their acceptance speech. Let's save the hope's for Canada for the reality of what's to come. This election was about change and it was change at almost any cost. Donald Trump or Donald Duck...they wanted change and they got it. Here's hoping the gamble pays off.
  2. Steve, I used Canada Doors on Hwy 20 for a new door. They were very good and install quality doors and openers.
  3. Not exactly true anymore Bill. A colleague of mine has a complete server installed and now has 200+ customers paying a very low monthly rate for "cable". He has most of the local channels all in HD. I was quite surprised when I saw them.
  4. Since when did it become the responsibility of the Leafs to pamper other teams stars? For decades, the Leafs got zero respect from any other team in the league and on many occasions got hammered. They had no defined superstars or enforcer so everyone was considered a fair target. Now the team has some juice and they're playing with moxie. I like it. Martin grabbed the kid but let's face it, that was because Dorcett whimped out and went after Komarov. The message is clear, pull that crap and all your players are fair game also. I'm absolutely ok with it and I'll bet Vancouver knows Dorcett was responsible. Kadri's hit was fair and nonpunishable. The league can't enforce unwritten rules. Unfortunately, the door swings both ways and when it does, let's hope it's not costly. In hindsight, I wish he hadn't hit him so hard. He had already released the puck and scored the goal. It didn't change the outcome of the play whatsoever. Easy to say after the fact though and Kadri would have no way of knowing. Reilly hit was freaking magic. I'm sure lots of tape was reviewed and Babcock will make sure everyone knows their roles and what is excepted. More importantly what is not expected in the future. For me, that was a great game with a little bit of everything. It's been too damn long since I got to watch the Leafs shine on the scoreboard, show off tremendous new talent and kick some a$$ along the way. Welcome back, it's been a while.
  5. ^^^ Same for me...My HDS 8 Gen1 died but I upgraded to a HDS 9 Touch.
  6. It'll depend how old it is. I know the boats a 2012 but the unit may not be. Call and find out but have the serial number handy.
  7. Good reminder. Remembrance Day is just around the corner.
  8. I've had them for a very long time. Here's my advice to people... 1) They are NOT plug and play. You don't hook them up and live happy ever after with free TV 2) They are not good for live TV. If you want to watch TV as it happens, news, sports, etc. it can be impossible at times. 3) Tons of movies and shows are available but...some you'll watch in HD without an issue and others either won't work or will be in low def. 4) My opinion is they are great as an add on to cable...NOT a replacement. 5) Lastly, I've had 5+ different models with upgrades in both hardware and software. Find a person you can trust to buy from them. You'll need help or an upgrade sooner or later.
  9. Your grouse hunting reports sure bring back memories KF. After first getting my license at 15, grouse hunting was what I did the most of. Walking along those long town lines bordered with old, scraggly apple trees while listening for the faint bump, bump bump of the mating males. And no matter how many times you tell yourself you'll be ready when a bird blows up out of the cover, it startles the daylights out of you and the bird gets a head start on their escape route. Grey County had a lot of birds back then...probably still does.
  10. Just my perspective but I look at this from a different angle. I focus on the boat and not the motor...meaning I hate fishing out of a boat that is tippy, uncomfortable, lacks storage. I'd rather find a used older boat in the 16'+ range than a buy a new 12 footer just so it fits my 9.9. If I fished small cottage lakes mainly I'd still have a 16-18 foot boat. I can fish longer and be more comfortable. And if you do want to venture out to a larger lake, you have options. Just my opinion.
  11. Sounds like a great time. Next time, could you please take pictures so I can look at the background and figure out where you catch crappies?? lol
  12. I read through the online manual for this heater. There's no way I'd use it in a bunkie...it's designed as an emergency backup heater with very specific venting requirements.
  13. When cropping photos make sure you don't crop off your shirt
  14. WOW...I didn't see that coming! Last trip for the green parka?
  15. Maybe, Reimer needed to make a couple saves late in the game yesterday too. Andersen needed to make a couple saves in every period! lol
  16. Ice stops the boats but not the bite. There is a great late season and early winter bite on Erie...in fact, I'd pass up the entire summer to fish it. On northern, smaller lakes, big baits produce well right through November.
  17. I agree with Bill...it's way too early to pass judgement. Cherry knows his stuff but he's hardly accountable for his opinions.
  18. Just a couple points to contemplate and then I'm done with this thread. Maybe... It's not your place to call anyone out to fish It's not your place to give passes to those that you deem as too old That posting reports is a personal decision Status or success is not measured by posting reports Many of the "oldtimers" on here have forgotten more than many of us know People use this site for many reasons...some it's just a spot to drop in and get caught up with the banter or see how the fishings has been lately. For others, it's a way of advertising their position as fisherman for personal or business reasons. Whatever. Either way, do what you like but what everyone else does is none of your concern.
  19. Ok Art, I found a picture of my 1986 Yamaha FZ750. Almost completely original with the exception of the pipes. The bike was 24 years old at the time. I still regret selling it.
  20. You win! LOL You have a couple toys you couldn't trust me with!!
  21. This is for sure the best time of the year IMHO. The complete lack of cottages around the lake is awesome.
  22. Sorry I was too ambiguous...yes, yes I was.
  23. LMAO!! Yeah Lew...he's for real! I think that's probably the first time Lew wishes he had his boat again...to go kick azz!
  24. Looks great Bunk...you're living the dream.
