Boat safety: importance of lief jackets (video)

Mechanical failure in the steering. It was either a blown hose or the cylinder popped loose. -

Good image...showing Ottawa behind the Leafs is accurate. BUT, you cut off the best part! Ottawa has let in as many goals as they've scored. Before the last game, they had a -2 differential! They just got back to zero last night. The Leafs are a +9. Plus, in the last 10 games Ottawa is 5-4-1 and the Leafs are 8-1-1 It's not looking good Matt...this lousy performance continues in Ottawa and the rest of the bandwagon jumpers are going to leap. -

LOL That's not the parade route...that's Ottawa fixing the road for the Sens to get out of town!!! And they'll be just as many people there to watch!!! -

Matthews really showed his game in both directions last night. His back-check and ability to strip the puck without a trip or a hook is super impressive. -
Well first off, how can it be a bow if it has no bow? It's an air rifle at best. The fact it shoots an arrow has nothing to do with the fact it's not a bow. I've shot traditional archery for 30 years so my views on what a bow is, and what bowhunting is, are much more skewed toward actually having a bow and string somewhere in the design. Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to be walking around with that thing and call myself a bowhunter. It belongs in the gun season at best.

How do you hook minnows for drop shot.
grimsbylander replied to Tjames09's topic in General Discussion
That makes more sense. Either way, that minnow needs to be horizontal. -

Hooking through the back doesn't seem like a very natural presentation for dropshotting. I never use live bait but through the lips seems like the only way to offer a natural presentation. All my plastics are dead and they work just fine. -

I thought at the time Quebec City was going to get that team. Ottawa obviously had more pull...from people on the business end, not people who actually watch hockey. -

Geez I'm glad I'm not stuck defending a team that nobody really cares about. Imagine an arena half empty and trying to get excited about a win? LOL Brutal. Ottawa is becoming the Hurricanes of the north. I read an article last with written by the Ottawa Sun about how this team will be in serious financial trouble if they don't start filling seats. And, how they're relying on the rival teams like Toronto and the big names like Crosby to boost ticket sales when they're in town. Ouch! There's also talk about how this new coach has done nothing to improve the team, he's only made them more defensive, thus stiffing the offense. It's looking pretty dark for this team going forward. But there's a bright side, nobody cares. GOne SENS GOne!! -

How's this?? "Hey you, lurker, yeah I'm talking to you. Start contributing or bugger off! We've got the Russians (not the two guys from Siberia, they ok) logging your IP addresses. Plus we can now track you to any spot previously photographed on this sight. We can't get through a political thread without fighting but we're like the Sheldon Cooper of fishing now!"
-
If you're on here to get spots, you're NOT going to be a registered member. It's one thing to anonymously show up beside you on your spot and play dumb and another to pull up the weekend after your great fishing report and look like a tool if/when recognized. If I wanted to fish a spot I saw here, pm'ing the OP would be the first thing I'd do. Don't underestimate the far reaching grasp of the info on here. I've googled lakes before and I think every damn time I get a link back to a conversation on OFC!

Limits on pan fish and limiting out
grimsbylander replied to Acountdeleted's topic in General Discussion
This is easy. Daily and possession limits are established and enforced by law. If someone is keeping fish and is acting within the laws, it is their personal choice and none of my business. Just like I can choose to release fish without having to answer to anyone. If either one of us were to step outside the rules, then either of us is well within our rights to see it get corrected. If I have an issue with daily or possession limits, I should take it up with the correct level of government or organization (eg. OFAH) NOT the fisherman. I don't have any more right to whine at a fisherman with 50 perch(and I wouldn't, good for them!) than I do a person driving 100kph on the QEW. They're well with their rights. -
I agree with most of what you're saying...especially the political and electronics line! Too funny. But, Pointe Au Baril is a very large area with countless individual structure targets. A very different scenario than what has been experienced in southern Ontario. Bill's example of the Notty is bang on. A complete stranger can break it down in a day by people watching alone. You know that you could fish PAB every weekend for a decade and not fish the same spot twice if you chose to. In addition, and most importantly, it's not 40 minutes from Toronto. You could increase the number of fisherman up there on any given weekend by 50 guys and never notice(other than the ramp)...try that same number on most rivers or a lakes. You're young, I predict that one day years from now you'll be posting about how you'd fish all day and not see another boat. Don't expedite that, just enjoy it now.
