What the heck was Joe Runabout thinking???? Seems like a mechanical malfunction such as steering would be far too coincidental.

I agree with this. If I’m the guy standing there holding the gas pump nozzle, I’m going to want to see those blowers going for a while first. My butt....my choice. Should be legislated. The guys that refill propane have tight do’s and don’ts for their licences.

I’d buy a good used Stradic, Patriarch, or Tatula before I’d buy a new $100 - $150 reel.

Oh!!!! I was one more do it away from pulling the trigger!!! Lol ?

If you’re going to bottom bounce either end of the River, use a three way with a 4lb drop line to your weight. Snags on the river are inevitable, so when you break off you’re just replacing the drop line. What Dave said above ^^^ is bang on.

Public Service Announcement/Movie rental, save your $$

I agree!! Lol -
Personally, if your boat is rated for 30hp, I’d hang on to your Yamaha until you decide to upgrade and then go to a 30hp. Wouldn’t be overly concerned or influenced by brand opinions.

All great looking fish there. St. Clair appears to be a very healthy musky factory so I hope it gets looked after. I know those musky have lots of 5 lb smallies to eat!! Lol Seriously considering making a move to a Ranger walleye boat...620 or 621. St. Clair musky would follow shortly afterwards. ?

I thought The Rock with Sean Connery and Ed Harris was a good movie too. -
Three dogs and their owners are sitting in the waiting room at the vets office. First dog says to the second one, “What are you here for?” to which the second dog replied “every time I get too excited I pee all over my owners carpet”. “So Im here to be neutered!” “You?” The first dog answers back, “Every time the mailman comes to the front door I go nuts and try to attack him.” “So unfortunately I’m here to neutered too!!!” They both look at the third dog and ask, “What about you?” “Well, it’s embarrassing but every time my owner bends over to pick something up, I jump her from behind!!! I can’t help it!!!!” ”Wow” says the first two dogs. “I guess you’re here to be neutered too right???” To which the third dog replied, “No, I’m getting my nails trimmed”.

What's your best boat ramp argument or funny story?
grimsbylander replied to LostAnotherOne's topic in General Discussion
Geez OV Pro Bass brings back memories. Yeah people are surprised how quickly an entire tournament can launch, park and be gone from the ramp. ? -
Is a 1/2 ounce weight heavy enough for a punch rig.
grimsbylander replied to Bassin15's topic in General Discussion
1/2 is borderline ok for pads. As soon as you get into any floating mat, I agree with the other gentleman...1-2oz -

They’re nice but tough with bigger boats -
My boat is either plugged in, or in use.

What's your best boat ramp argument or funny story?

The ramp at Crystal Beach is a double as well...one in/one out. One day I was waiting at the top while two boats, one at each side, shuffled life jackets, coolers and played with outboards because we all know, the best time to start your motor for the first time of the year is on a crowded boat ramp!!!! Idiots!! I got sick of it and because I can completely unhook my boat from the trailer before backing down, told my friend to hang on we’re going down the middle!! Lol I had about 5 feet on both sides and shot the boat into the water in seconds. Best part? I got dirty looks from both sides!! Lmao My biggest beef is the ramp mechanics that say “it ran great last year”!! Grrrrrr -

I was at Midland launch one day and watched a guy with his new 17’ fibreglass boat preparing for the first launch. Unfortunately he didn’t do much homework prior to heading to the lake. He’s parked at the top of the ramp with the transom about 20’ from the waters edge and he’s figuring out the winch. You boys know what’s next...he flips the directional switch and away she goes!!!! The damn handle was spinning so fast it sounded like a helicopter. The boats transom hits the concrete and just keeps on going. When the handle finally stopped spinning there was a 20’ white racing strip down the middle of the ramp. Those ramps that get raked while the concrete is wet sure make launching easier but they also grind a boats keel down to the glass fibre in no time. I felt bad for the poor guy. Know your trailer!! -
as a friend would say.. nice visit to the grocery store.

Congrats on a great day. I'd love a load of walleye too! The problem with the picture is simple and has ZERO to do with Freshtrax. Ethical people will stick to the limits and follow the rules. But...this is the internet, where idiots come to get their bright ideas. lol By Freshtrax just acknowledging his reluctance to post the pic tells you he's a stand up guy. Good on you! PS I think I really need to trade my bassboat for a walleye boat!! -
Hmm maybe he’s speaking from experience...my money’s on meth. ?

Quality of the bearings aside, the bearings you used were far too small an ID and I'm surprised you got them on. A typical press fit is 0.001" - 0.0015" of interference. You were at .006" which could very well have damaged the bearings just by installing them. Wheel bearings should be even be a slip fit...not press fit. As for your micrometer, yes the 1.000" block is to keep it in tolerance. It should have also come with a small hook shaped tool that you can use to gentle rotate the barrel to align the zeros while using the test block. Currently your mic is out .0006" (6 tenths) which for 99% of what you do means nothing. Check the axle shafts carefully for any damage, scratching, galling and if its present, you'll have to replace them. Any new, high quality bearing you put on will not seat properly causing runout and vibration. This will shorten the life of any new bearing. Good luck!

I guess it would depend more on the boats layout and what type of fishing your doing. For me it’s the bow.

Nice fish Brian. Saw the title and figured you were either a cowboy or caught a cuddlefish ?

Good on you for putting that trip together! You have your priorities firmly in order and your son will remember it forever. And yeah, awesome pics and the sunrise is beautiful!!

Can bass get familiar with the same topwater frog.
grimsbylander replied to Bassin15's topic in General Discussion
Sure they can. But I’ll bet you fish it they same way every time too. Change it up....try fishing it very aggressively or add in very long pauses(1-3 minute) before a twitch. Any bait can work differently just by fishing it differently. As for trying new baits, it would be more than a little hypocritical for me to not suggest buying more tackle. ? -
B1 Fishing - Mortality Rate - 44% - Not A Good Look
grimsbylander replied to AKRISONER's topic in General Discussion
Her pics are not associated with tournament angling. There’s at least three separate topics all running under one article about the mortality rate at one bass tournament. Hence the confusion. Read comments that start with “Garnet” and you’ll be good. ?
