Most teams in the NHL are one or two injuries away from not making the playoffs but yeah, they're short on grit. I never think of Hyman and grit at the same time! -

The officiating really does seem one sided lately. I wonder how much of that is actual biased officiating and how much is the Leafs playing pond hockey, stick checking hockey versus actually getting close enough to physically take someone off the puck...heaven forbid. -

I could be wrong but in an interview last week when Babcock was asked about the zero retaliation from his team after the high hit on Matthews he said "who's gonna do it??" It really seemed like he was throwing at Dubas' feet with that comment. This is why I don't really believe this is 100% a Babcock issue. -

I watched the games as well and THAT was a great game. Gritty and super competitive. The Leafs have built the perfect replica to the 2010 era Oilers....young, highly skilled, and zero toughness. We all know how that played out. I'm not convinced this is a Babcock issue quite yet. He plays the cards he gets dealt by Dubas/Shanahan and they are open about skill over toughness. The Red Wings teams under Babcock were not exactly powderpuffs. It's all about balance. -

Can’t beat a good “Florida Man” story. I’ll bet there’s a hundred guys floating around “lost” in dingies today. -

Tonight was another great example of why the Leafs to at least finish checks! When a team is known for doing it, the refs let stuff go. When you don’t, it looks out of place and you take crappy penalties. Boston gets away with a lot because “we’ll thats just the way they play.” Oh, and it drives me nuts when Hughes calls Pasternak “Pasta”. Wonder if that moron is wearing a Boston jersey under his sports coat??? 🤬 -

Geez, let it go man. Chris wants a tougher team...I get that. Stop insinuating that there is no middle ground between having a team that is physically responsible within the rules of the game and icing a goon squad. -

It seems some of you are slowly coming over to the Chris and Grimsby camp!!! Lol We only need grit when we play gritty teams and they just happen to be the best teams. -
This whole tick issue is a bit of a conundrum. The Revolution treatment is not great on ticks and the "new and Improved" stuff is scary. Ever google them?? Everything from vomiting to seizures to death. I bought some and after researching it, promptly returned it. I totally understand the importance of controlling ticks but I have a problem with having my dog ingest enough poison to kill an insect(s) through his bloodstream. Even when I give him Revolution he is quiet and very lethargic for 3-4 days. So, I bought all the hair cutting supplies and in August began home grooming. I now stay on top of it and can do more frequent trims versus the $125 per cut I was paying. This also allows a very thorough inspection. What to do??

I think the answer is somewhere in between. I’m not so sure Chris is implying we have a goon out there dropping the gloves every time someone gets bumped either. In this game that just puts you down a man and probably a goal too. However, playing the heavy game is still absolutely relevant in this new NHL. It’s no coincidence that the Leafs don’t play well against teams that play rough...finish every check...look for opportunities to legally crush a guy, AND target anyone that goes after any of our key players. I believe that is what Chris wants to see and I agree 100%. Teams fear the Leaf’s speed and skill but know that if you start running them, they hot potato the puck cause nobody wants to get hit. We don’t need Belak type guys, we need guys the keep a mental score of who is taking liberties and go paint the boards with them. Funny, after a while, teams know which teams you can push around and which teams you can’t. Boston comes out in the 1st period and ignores the puck because they’re too busy hammering anything in blue and white. Sets the tone for the whole game and you can just see the Leafs trying to play while looking over their shoulders. Anyhoo, I think there’s been some good additions to the team so Go Leafs Go!! -

What irritates me about this is the holier than thou crap from people criticizing a young guy for messing up. Get over it. I did worse but didn’t have to go on tv and apologize to the world. And if the people judging him didn’t pull any meathead moves as a young adult, sorry for your boring life. The security chick said to the cops “So I didn’t recognize him at first”. Lol But when she did all she saw was dollar signs!!! -

I've been watching hockey far too long to put any stock into analyzing teams by looking at stats. This includes how many 30 or 50 goals scorers a team has. St. Louis has ONE 30 goal scorer, Tarasenko, and he only got 33....oh, and a Stanley Cup. If the Leafs don't gel and start playing because they give a damn about the logo on the front of the jersey, their team mates, and the fans, this will be another season of "what could have been". -

Hey honey I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is we’re moving up north so I can enjoy the great outdoors! The bad news is you have a 3 hour commute. ? It all sounds good. I’ll I can add is think about what life you want to live 10+ years from now, not today. What are your career aspirations? Want kids? Schools? Is culture important in your life? I tell young people this all the time...build a safety net in your life. What does option B look like if your existing company restructures or goes under? Is a happy medium a better choice? Say lower GBay whereas it’s still commutable to TO for work, healthcare, etc if necessary? Just playing devils advocate but you’re not just deciding for you, you’re deciding for you and your future family. If you’re all good, go for it.

Black bear encounter leads to sudden death

Blacks bears are native to N. America. This one just happened to be in Canada. Strange situation here as black bear attacks are not all that common.
