  1. Absolutely dead on Roy! No one knows gobies better than the king! LOL HH
  2. Well done buddy! I am freakin jealous! Nice pics too... and don't worry too much about identifying those fish... aren't they all just different varieties of spotted carp? LMAO! HH
  3. I think this is a really good move for the Jays... Escobar's recent move, not so much! HH
  4. The way Lew's sitting there, I thought it was Tim Conway doing a skit on the Carol Burnett show! HH
  5. Lew, check out a product called "Top N Bond". you can get it at any Home Depot. No need to pin it, just make sure that when you apply it, you wet down the area well. You'll need to frame out the area, wet it, then trowel in the Top N Bond. Let it dry for a bit until it sets, then spray it with a utillity sprayer (mist) to dampen the surface. Trowel it smooth and it will dry white or close to it. HH
  6. Saves a lot of chopping Lew! LOL I think Bernie took a pic of Spiel and I by the BBQ with our bounty... I forgot the gloves again Roy! Funny we took a close to ten mile run out onto the lake and at about the half way point I asked Bernie and Spiel who had a camera... we all did, back at the cottage! HH
  7. Well another weekend at Bernie's has come and gone... man, the three fastest days of the year! FishnSled, CCMT and I left Whitby at 9:30 Friday morning, knowing full well that the weather predictions for the weekend were grim at best... Spiel left from the Hammer around the same time. We met up with Bernie at his shop in Powasson and then off to the island for some fish'n and some R and R. Knowing that the weather was going to change for the bad, we got out early Friday evening before the front came in. Spiel, Bernie and myself in Bernie's boat and CCMT in FnS's boat. Our boat had the hot bite with us boating 13 Pickereyes in about three hours. We ended up with four keepers, the rest returned to grow a little, but instructed to watch out for nets! LOL! Cliff was up for taking care of one meal and he picked up some exquisite Strip loins, home made french fries (picked out of Bernie's garden that day) and of course, corn on the cob. We have as a group decided that CLiff will be buyng the steaks from now on! Saturday was a wash out... winds at 40k gusting well above that, rain all day, mostly going sideways! Good day for; -a nap! -painting ups some jigs Bernie had some friends arrive on Saturday afternoon, one of them from Bristol England. Good to meet both Ricnick and Bob! Dinner Saturday night was extra thick pork chops, garlic mashed taters and of course, corn on the cob. Thanks FnS! Sunday was clear, cold and windy... Fns and CCMt went out got some small ones, all returned. The drive was quick and uneventful, just the way we like it! I know some of the guys took some pics (WILL, CCMT and I think Bernie as well.) Hopefully they will drop in and add to the report. Thanks again Bernie and to the other guys as well, it was a fun game as everyone played it quickly!LOL HH PS... what key were we playing Sultans of Swing in Cliff! LMAO
  8. Congrats on the wedding... you could have told your wife that you were living in a gated community! Glad no damage and more importantly, no one hurt! HH
  9. Well, for once I have to agree with BB... scarey as it seems! LOL I would have no issues with a two fish limit as long as they scrapped the slot... as far as ice fishing is concerned, I don't personally care if they scrap it, although I would bet that many local businesses wouldn't be happy... unless the buy-out compensated them well. All of these moves though would be inconsequencial should the netting continue... HH
  10. Well if the NHL does go on strike AGAIN... I just might reach my lofty goal of being mediocre at bass guitar! More practice time for me! HH
  11. A couple of white buckets and some drum sticks Chris and we would be golden! HH
  12. It was fun out there Will... could have used a little more action after 8:00am, but thems the fishing gods... Man did it get hot out there by 11:00am... hardly any wind and that dirty rotten sun had no mercy... Cooked up the bow for dinner Saturday night... cut into steaks, marinated in teriaki sauce, ginger, garlic, salt and pepper and it was a hit with the Warden, my niece and her boyfriend! Thanks for getting us out Will, gonna have to try to get out again! Fil... had my "frilly" shirt on, but my jacket covered it up! Cliff... song number 2 from Blur!!! LMAO HH
  13. Looks like Sunday morning at Bernie's! I like the nail idea above! HH
  14. Maybe we should rename it "Jersey Shore"? HH
  15. Thanks for the info guys... so if I get what your saying... we don't want thriving wild fish to mate with Kardashian fish... lowers the genetic pool so to speak? HH
  16. Ok... I'm trying to understand this and I am NOT trying to stir anything up... given my limited knowledge of these things related to spotted carp... (ok, that was a stir!) Given that Rainbows, to my understanding and I may well be wrong... are not native to the Great Lakes, how can farmed fish "dilute" the wild species by escaping from farmed pens? Today's a learning day for HH! HH
  17. If you're going to be trolling cranks and want an accurate understanding of depths, you should look into the Precision Trolling Guide. Google is your friend. HH
  18. Great video and yes, the tunes matched up very well with the action! Love the look on your son's face! A spilt second of fear, closely followed by a glance at Dad to make sure all is good and carry on! Thanks for posting it! HH
  19. Can't Paul just talk that tree down? Joey, check with your city on protocols required... especially if you have a busy body neighbour... HH
  20. Nice going guys... only wish that the weather was as good the last time we tried to venture out... Not sure what the above comment is directed to specifically, holding a dead fish can be done in many different ways! Keep these comments up and no one is gonna post pics anymore... HH
  21. I agree with Randy... a bucket, the shoreline and all it has to offer... add in the swimming, tubing, baci (sp) croquet, they sleep like babies.. ALternatively, a bag of bungy cords, some honey and a tree... that'll keep 'em quiet! LOL HH
  22. Late 70's I was fishing the Hartley Bay area of the French... we were sitting around the fire, enjoying some brown pops on a clear, star filled night. Suddenly we notice this huge fire ball in the sky, we thought is was a meteor as it ripped from horizon to horizon... It wasn't until we got home that we found out that a Russian Satelite had crashed in the Prairies... kinda a cool site... Yah, we took pics, but didn't really get anything out of my 110 pocket camera! HH
  23. Great video... and yah got real lucky at the net! HH
  24. Thanks for doing that Bill! Gotta try making some of that Carolina sauce myself... and the boys who partake in our Weekend at Bernie's, this September will be munching on left over pulled pork! HH
  25. Only after a few cobs of corn!!! HH
