When the fishings slow and it's miserable out

A bottle of Frank's Hot Sauce and that's a meal worth eatin! HH -
Hey Brian, Last year when Wayne was up, he had some kind of plastic "due dad" that seemed to work for him. I know he got the first fish of the day (To which he took a great deal of joy, reminding us!) and more. I don't remember what it was called, hence the scientific "due dad" name above. I know you prefer to not use live bait, but let me tell you a brief story... My first visit to Bernie's, I had two tackle bags, rods galore and an unwavering desire to catch the elusive Pickereye. I was fishing about 10 ft from Bernie, who was using a chunk of wood, with ancient 20lb mono tied to it. After Bernie had iced his third fish to my NONE, Being the smart guy I am, I decided to not fight it and go with the minnow. Now, I take one tackle tray and a couple of rods. Just thought you'd like to know. HH

If it makes you feel any better, I think I died a little inside, that day! HH

I should have been more specific.... I would'nt be caught dead in one, unless it was painted puke green. then it would be alright. HH

I have a plan in place for when my now 10 year old daughter begins dating. It involves a mayonnaise jar, a Louisville Slugger and testicles. You figure it out. I like your application form Bigugli! HH

Organized religion has had thousands of years to prepare their answers to people questioning them. It's only been a hundred years or less, that people have been able to question them, without serious ramifications. Tollerance would be what the religious man would have missed out on Mosquito. (Not to mention 52 fishing days per year!!) HH -
LOL. I had completely forgot about that! FnS greased him out while he was getting bait, after he had caught some nice slot fish. FnS got skunked! LOL HH

Lindners Angling Edge - questions Evolution

My neighbour is very much imbedded in his church. He and his family are some of the nicest folks I have had the pleasure to associate with. Under no circumstances would he or his family try to force their beliefs on me or my family. I also know for a fact, that should I or any member of my family need anything, they would be there for us in a flash. He also knows that we would do the same for them. We have had some conversations about beliefs and such and his comment to me was the folowing; Although I may not agree with what you believe Joe, I know that you are a good man, you take care of your family, friends and neighbours and have a good sense of what's right. To me, I think that is more than suffcient to leading a good life. Randy, keep doing what your doing... it sounds to me like your daughter is headed for a good life. She will thank you for that. HH -

The "small chance" might help to explain why we have identified so many planets in our universe, yet so far, we are the only known life forms in this universe. Beliefs are obviously a very personal thing and I get that... but organized religion hasn't done anything to secure my beliefs, other than my belief that it is purely a commercial endevour. HH -
that was my first thought as well. A hired call centre doing the cold calling, so I asked. He told me he was calling from a dealership in Durham and that he was a sales associate. That's what I found most curious! HH

So, like many here, I get those annoying telemarketing calls from folks who think I need my duct work cleaned, my water tested or an up-grade on my windows and doors. I usually just hang up and carry on with my day, but yesterday, I got a much different one... I got a call from a sales associate at a Chrysler dealership, letting me know about the newest offerings for Chrysler! Frankly, I was caught of guard. I have never been cold called by a car dealership before and I really didn't get how they had my name and phone number. I have never stepped foot on a Chrysler dealership! Truth be told, I wouldn't be caught dead in one of their vehicles. I told the guy basically that... he seemed somewhat put off by my comments!LOL Has this happened to anyone else? Is the car industry really that competitve that they are now cold calling people in an effort to sell their stuff? Just thought I's throw this out there! HH

I only take what god gives! LOL HH

Well, I'd probabaly say a few "Hail Mary's" if it would help me catch more fish. So far, saying the opposite hasn't really helped! HH -
I would agree... however at 2.9mill, I would think he would be motivated to: -pay attention to the coach! -back check -hit somebody -stand in front of the net -not take stupid penalties - get extra help with face-offs -try for crying out loud! HH

Uhmmm Kadri would be over-paid at half his current salary. He's got a long way to go to justify his current salary. HH

Jig and a minnow... hook the minnow in the tail, not the back or head, drop it down right to the bottom. Reel in a few inches so the bait is off the bottom and let that little sucker swim. You'll know when you're about to get bit, the minnow will frantically swim trying to get away... hold on! LOL HH

Let me know when you start taking orders Brian! The cat's behind is right! HH

If it's the plastic choke switch you are talking about, I feel your pain! At some point last year, mine snapped of as well. Fortunately there is just enough of the lever left, that I can move it with gloves on, but it's still a pain in the rear! Good luck and do let us know how it worked out. HH

For numbers and size, I would agree with Cooch... however if you are wanting a meal, Cooch would not be my choice. Sure they tend to be bigger on Cooch, but they are also wormy as all get go in Cooch. If it's just action and no regard to size, Cook's Bay would be my choice. HH

Can't imagine going that long in these temps! Happy for you it's finally resolved. Here's something that has been bugging me since the storm... Why is it that hydro was lost for so many, yet the Bell lines, which share the same poles didn't go down? I heard a Bell tech on the radio saying they had less then 5% outage of the Bell lines... Does Bell run stronger lines? I just don't get it... hopefully someone here can enlighten me! HH
