My 11 year old boy... Mr. Si Robertson...HEY! My 10 year old daughter... clown. Both have assembled their own costumes, picking up pieces and parts from the dollar store. Both are in full blown freak out mode, much like a musky fisherman one day before season opener! LOL No pics today, but will have some tomorrow night! HH
-
This has been my experience as well... HH

Those boys sure weren't monkeying around, were they? HH

Karma... it is a three way street correct?

Great pics! The kissin Crappie make coffee come out my nose! Awesome! HH

As the OP of this thread, I think MM has every right to make comments. He started the thread. Some of us need to grow thicker skin or pause a moment before hitting the "post" button. Comments like the one above, will get this thread locked. Not what anyone here wants to see happen. That all said, it's gotta be a good day to be a Sen's fan and not a Dead Things fan! LOL HH

I agree and what will make it even funnier/interesting will be all the Leaf jerseys at an Ottawa home game, with no Leafs present! HH

Are they good to eat? Well, that really is a matter of opinion. If you are hoping that they will as good for the table as say a Lake Erie Pickereye, then no, they will not. If you are hoping that they will come close to eating a Kawartha or Nip Pickereye, then no they are not. Are they eatable, well yes, but after having tried both resident BOQ and migrating Lake O Pickereyes, I would suggest that you take a pic of your catch, head to your local fish monger and get something tasty. JMHO... HH

Well that report helped to light the fire for Pickereyes, that's for sure!!! Looks like you guys had most of the bay to yourselves as well! That would have been a blast! Thanks for posting! HH

I have heard of the infamous C.I.L. wobbler, but have no actual experience... do they handle boards well? Should I tie them on with floro? I wonder if someone makes a rod dedicated to running these "baits"? Can I be sure that they won't travel deeper than 30ft? I try to make every effort possible, to insure the well being of the fish yah know. HH

Alright, I'll be the one to take a shot! I would have preferred a closer up photo instead of the full length shot! LOL Sounds like a great night out to me! Congrats! HH

Thanks everyone for your input so far... Just curious if anyone has tried using blades and meat on Quinte this time of year? Has crossed my mind many a time, but, given that most of the time, others are pulling body baits, running blades at the same trolling speed can be problematic. Thoughts? HH

Another stellar video! Thanks for putting it together... I think "Dave" has taken a shining to you! HH

Glad you got that all worked out! Sorry, but your story made me LOL... Reminds me of my brother who likes to chase the toothy critters. He likes to sit on the top of the back of his boat seat as his seat is pretty low and he can see easier from up there. Well, that's all fine and dandy, if you remember that you keep dumping your musky lure on the seat after changing up. So one fine summer day, he is fishing the Moon basin with his family in the boat. Notice a thunder storm making it's way across the bay and decide to boot it back to camp before it hits. So he is sitting on top of the back of the seat again, travelling along at 30 mph, when they hit another boat's wake. He slips off the back of the seat, right down onto a cluster on 10 to 12 inch baits! Yes, he now has a 12 inch musky lure attached to his rear end! He had to lay down across the back seat of his truck while my Sister in law drove him to the clinic. I think the folks at the clinic in Mactier are probabaly still laughing about that. I'm pretty sure he has started putting lures away after that encounter! HH

Well, my intent was to discuss the fall migration of Lake Ontario Pickereyes, but I know that there are some who chase bass this time of year as well. And the Bay has some pretty nice bass! HH

Anyone who thinks this team is going anywhere givin their current play, is delusional. The Leafs have be fortunate to have the record they have. Goaltending has been their saving grace. Without it, this thread would be far more interesting. They have played one teamso far this year, that has been on a roll and Patty Roy's team made us look pretty bad. Agreed that Saturday night's game should be a decent barometer for this team. On the up side, if they simply play .500 from here on in, they should make the playoffs. However, as far as I can see, they are only one or two injuries away, from being in some trouble. HH

Well, that time of year is fast approaching as the leaves drop and eventually, the temperatures will begin to fall. That says Quinte to me! As we typically get a number of threads here regarding Quinte in the fall, I thought I would put this up ahead of time and have folks put up their "go to" lures or techniques for Quinte. The Bay has certainly changed a lot, since I first started fishing November/December and sometimes, January in open water. There are probably any number of reasons things have changed, including zebra mussels, gobi and algea to name a few. As a result, anglers have had to change up their approaches to be successful. So, all that said, what are your "go to" methods for this body of water? Me, I am old school, still trying to use what was really effective 20 years ago... so that means I have to have my Mann's Stretch 20 or 30's. Let's see where this goes! HH

Actually, as a life long leaf fan, I find MM's comments not only hysterical, but also generally very truthful. Sure he takes his shots, but I also think most folks get that it's just ribbin and they don't take it personally. Others could learn from that. RE the game last night... it was like watching two junior teams; with the team that made the last mistake, losing the game. Sure was entertaining, but I think the Leafs have alot of work to do, if they think they are going to be contenders. HH HH

Don't forget to add to the total the billions spent on E Health... with nothing to show for! A rough estimate would put this Ontario government into the 3 billion dollar mark in spending, with absolutely nothing to show for it. Just to put it into another perspective... the billion plus would have paid for 750 MRI's for the province. HH

I used to see jet fighters flying down the French River as a kid... don't know if they still do that though... So many sightings while fishing BOQ that after a while, you don't even notice them! HH
-
The best ramp at BOQ is the ramp least affected by that day's wind. Simply put, there are a number of ramps available, but you must choose the right location based on the wind that day. Another option to consider is the ramp on the north shore of Hay Bay. That ramp "typically" can be used most of the time as it is somewhat sheltered from the predominate west/northwest wind. Lost of parking and I believe a $5.00 honour system. Where you launch is also determined by the time of year you are fishing. Late November into December, you will most likely be fishing up-stream from the ferry... one line out per angler. HH

Perchasaurus! Just curious as I have not targeted them this time of year... The fish in your pics have pretty big bellies, are they already starting to form egg sacks or is that just a perch with a boiler? Thanks, HH
