I think it is minimal as far a charges are concerned... drop box near the launch. Parking, especially this time of year is the challenge. Don't, I repeat don't park in the hotel parking lot as folks have been getting tickets... it's private property. You might have to do some walking to get a safe place to park. We were up last weekend. Mid week last week, our trip looked like a write off based on the forecast for pretty high winds. Well, I'm glad we didn't take too much notice as Saturday turned out to be a great day on the water. Moral of the story, don't let the weather man mess with your plans! HH

And Long Reach... launch at Picton Harbour, run up the west side of Picton Bay and that should keep you out of the wind. Some fish were caught on Long Reach this past weekend. HH

9th Annual Live Release Fall Classic Walleye Derby

Thanks for the the report SD... we were there on the weekend and launched a little later Saturday morning, knowing the tourney would make the launch crazy. Hindsight says we should have entered the tourney as one of our boats pulled a PB on Saturday... that would have won that tourney fairly easily. I expect a report will be put up in the near future. Thanks again SD! HH -

Rob Ford being grilled this morning by TO city council

I have been a supporter of Robby since he took office. The best reason I could come up with was the fact that he has always been the exact opposite of the typical elected official in this city and more specifically, our former mayor. I will admit that it has given me a great deal of pleasure to watch some of Robby's council opponents squirm under Robbies leadership. Yah, I can be that way. With all that said, the events of the last few days have brought me to realize that Robby has to go. I can usually forgive a few indescretions, but Robby has now blown the doors off a few and turned it into a freak show. Hopefully by this time next year, an individual will make themselves known, who can and will, champion the interest of those who lean to the right. Time to go Robby.... HH -

Based on the thread title, it had better be a really big grill! HH -
My brother broke his leg in a similar fashion about 15 years ago... he was playing defence and fighting another guy to get the puck as it was heading toward the boards. Both guys went down a few feet from the boards. My brother's leg flew out from under him and his foot hit the boards... snap! Tibea (SP) snapped. He went to get up, but his foot just dangled there... that's when he knew he was in trouble. The human leg is designed to carry weight vertically, not designed to handle horizontal stress. It was pure agony for quite a number of months... it didn't help that he had a newborn at home at the time. We now call him "frankenlegin" as he has scars up both sides of his leg, where they put steet support rods to hold his leg together. Yes, he's playing hockey, skiing etc... but it was well into a year before he could get back to work and few more before he played hockey again. HH

7:30 start time tonight I believe... that should make for an interesting time at my band's gig tonight! Usual start time for us is 9:30, but the "crowd" gets unruley if the band starts playing in front of the TV screen! LOL HH

Thanks for the report SD. Not really the encouraging report I had hoped for as we will be fishing those waters next weekend, but thanks for keeping us up to date. BTW - how are the water levels? The usual low for this time of year? Thanks, HH

Well, it's a new day at city hall, I've got the popcorn ready and I can hardly wait for the next shoe to drop. I hope I'm dead wrong here, but I really am concerned about Robby's current mental state. He looked like a man on the dege of a breakdown yesterday... regardless of his actions, he's still a human being and I feel for the guy. I hope he gets the help he needs. HH

Pamela could write about it! That's just too funny Lew!!!!! HH

With that said, who then is going to replace him on the right? I'm sure that many right leaning voters would at this point anyway, gravitate toward a right leaning option as opposed to the steady flow of left wingers who have had the reins in the past. HH

Devil’s advocate for a moment... I was listening to Robby's brother yesterday and he said that Robby is the most photographed person in Canada and he never refuses anyone an opportunity to take a photo with the Mayor. Given his propensity toward the drink, I don't find it that farfetched that he can't remember the video being shot or any specific photo being taken. No, that is certainly not an excuse, but I can see where they are coming from. On a side note, I gotta admit that is has been fun watching to lefties on council salivate as they foresee Robby's demise, only to have to back track and "hope that Robby steps aside to take care of himself and his family." Time to check out Harper's new hockey book and hope that there is some semblance of leadership in there! LOL HH Edit to add... I bet our Premier is pleased with the shenanigans at city hall as it takes the spot light away from them for a bit!

I've had my stainless thermos for the better part of 20 years. Works perfectly as long as you pre-heat it with boiling water before you add your beverage of choice. I remember the first time I used it, we were fishing Quinte in a tinny. Spray was flying everywhere and with temps in the minus 10 area, I found my brand new thermos frozen solid under an inch of ice, to the bottom of the boat. Had to literally kick it free in order to enjoy my still very much steaming beverage. A must have as far as I'm concerned. HH

I used to get quite a laugh out of ordering OV. The case would roll out of the back and I would have to blow the dust off of it, before I took it to my car! HH

Yup... there sure does seem to be a complete lack of leadership across all levels of government... notice I spelled government correctly! LOL HH

Dude might need a drive through on the way back to the station! LOL HH

Thanks for posting the report... OV was the beer I would take to parties in my youth. If I saw another person drinkin OV, I knew where they got it! LOL Thanks for the pics! HH

A recent poll over the weekend showed Rob Ford's popularity up by 5%. As much as I personally don't agree with what he has been put through, without due course, I find it remarkable that his populartity has risen. There may be hope for this city yet! HH

I didn't catch the first period inthe last game... caught up with it during the 2nd intermission. So, I guess what your saying is, I should be on the panel between periods! LOL HH

Does anyone else find the timing of Dion's resurgence as a top defenceman in the league interesting, considering he is playing in a contract year? Why do I think we will see the same ole Dion next year, once he has signed his new contract? Just throwing that out there! HH
