Lindners Angling Edge - questions Evolution
Headhunter replied to farsider's topic in General Discussion
My neighbour is very much imbedded in his church. He and his family are some of the nicest folks I have had the pleasure to associate with. Under no circumstances would he or his family try to force their beliefs on me or my family. I also know for a fact, that should I or any member of my family need anything, they would be there for us in a flash. He also knows that we would do the same for them. We have had some conversations about beliefs and such and his comment to me was the folowing; Although I may not agree with what you believe Joe, I know that you are a good man, you take care of your family, friends and neighbours and have a good sense of what's right. To me, I think that is more than suffcient to leading a good life. Randy, keep doing what your doing... it sounds to me like your daughter is headed for a good life. She will thank you for that. HH -

The "small chance" might help to explain why we have identified so many planets in our universe, yet so far, we are the only known life forms in this universe. Beliefs are obviously a very personal thing and I get that... but organized religion hasn't done anything to secure my beliefs, other than my belief that it is purely a commercial endevour. HH -
that was my first thought as well. A hired call centre doing the cold calling, so I asked. He told me he was calling from a dealership in Durham and that he was a sales associate. That's what I found most curious! HH

So, like many here, I get those annoying telemarketing calls from folks who think I need my duct work cleaned, my water tested or an up-grade on my windows and doors. I usually just hang up and carry on with my day, but yesterday, I got a much different one... I got a call from a sales associate at a Chrysler dealership, letting me know about the newest offerings for Chrysler! Frankly, I was caught of guard. I have never been cold called by a car dealership before and I really didn't get how they had my name and phone number. I have never stepped foot on a Chrysler dealership! Truth be told, I wouldn't be caught dead in one of their vehicles. I told the guy basically that... he seemed somewhat put off by my comments!LOL Has this happened to anyone else? Is the car industry really that competitve that they are now cold calling people in an effort to sell their stuff? Just thought I's throw this out there! HH

Well, I'd probabaly say a few "Hail Mary's" if it would help me catch more fish. So far, saying the opposite hasn't really helped! HH -
I would agree... however at 2.9mill, I would think he would be motivated to: -pay attention to the coach! -back check -hit somebody -stand in front of the net -not take stupid penalties - get extra help with face-offs -try for crying out loud! HH

Uhmmm Kadri would be over-paid at half his current salary. He's got a long way to go to justify his current salary. HH

I hate to say this, but I am beginning to think that this team might not win the cup this year... HH

Jig and a minnow... hook the minnow in the tail, not the back or head, drop it down right to the bottom. Reel in a few inches so the bait is off the bottom and let that little sucker swim. You'll know when you're about to get bit, the minnow will frantically swim trying to get away... hold on! LOL HH

Let me know when you start taking orders Brian! The cat's behind is right! HH

If it's the plastic choke switch you are talking about, I feel your pain! At some point last year, mine snapped of as well. Fortunately there is just enough of the lever left, that I can move it with gloves on, but it's still a pain in the rear! Good luck and do let us know how it worked out. HH

For numbers and size, I would agree with Cooch... however if you are wanting a meal, Cooch would not be my choice. Sure they tend to be bigger on Cooch, but they are also wormy as all get go in Cooch. If it's just action and no regard to size, Cook's Bay would be my choice. HH

Can't imagine going that long in these temps! Happy for you it's finally resolved. Here's something that has been bugging me since the storm... Why is it that hydro was lost for so many, yet the Bell lines, which share the same poles didn't go down? I heard a Bell tech on the radio saying they had less then 5% outage of the Bell lines... Does Bell run stronger lines? I just don't get it... hopefully someone here can enlighten me! HH

What were you using as bait? How deep were you fishing. Those silly perch can be a pain to find, but trying 10-15ft of water, then moving deeper if they are not there is a good starting point. Jiggin Raps tipped with power grubs always work on those little brats! HH

Just me and the dog Bernie. I would stoke the fireplace, run over to where my wife and kids were nearby, grab a hot meal and get back home before the Kardasian, I mean fireplace ate all the wood. It was the only way to keep the house from freezing up. The pup sure was confused for the first day or two! And thanks again as well Cliff! Much appreciated buddy! HH

This team is two to three years away from knowing what and who they are, given the young players they currently have on their roster. They will not win the cup this year or next, so IMHO, I would trade Dion now while his value is high. I have absolutely no proof of my feelings, but I can't get over the feeling that he's not really liked by his teamates. I know, no proof, but a gut feeling. Get a front line centre for Dion now and let the kids learn by fire. HH

After 90+ hours of no power, our hydro finally came back on on Boxing Day at 6:30pm. It left us at 10:00pm on Dec 21st. The first night was fairly eventless, with most of the household already asleep, when the outage hit. A run to the grocery store for essentials and we as a family spent Sunday night together. As Monday rolled in, I could tell that my wife and kids had had enough and they took up an offer from a friend that still had power. That's when my solitary confinement began. I had limited fire wood here at home, to keep my fireplace going and keep my home from freezing up. With the generosity of neighbours, I had enough wood for a couple of days. I had heard that Oshawa had also been hit, so I called FishnSled the make sure he and his family were ok... They had power so no worrys there. He asked my how I was doing, well, I wasn't doing great, sleeping on the floor in front of the fire place, the fire place that eats wood like a Kardasian eats men! FnS said he had some wood in the back yard and after he and CCMT took the time to split it, he delivered it to my house! That wood saved my bacon and allowed me to stay in my house until the power finally came back on, on Boxing Day at 6:30pm. I just wanted to again thank FishnSled for being the kind of friend that really exemplifies what a friend really is! Thanks again Bud! HH PS... yes, having experience ice fishing certainly held me in good stead during this outage. I was actually quite shocked at how little my neighbours knew about cold weather survial and how to protect your house. And having the gear to survive was certainly an asset.

I'd like to ride the storm out with Jaclyn of the weather network! HH

This by the way was a poorly executed attempt at some humour... I was hoping that anyone who watched the HBO special, would have caught on... my bad! HH

Well, if this type of play keeps happening, I think Randy may be "toast" by the new year! He must feel like he is "stuck in an oven" feeling the heat! HH
