  1. A true artist wouldn't be using spinning reels. And that doesn't even look like Art. HH
  2. Tom Petty has sold over 80 million records... probably more since his passing has put his catalogue back up on the Billboard charts. Can't find Aldean's sales, but I would hazard a guess that they are not near the 80 mill + range. HH
  3. Last nights loss will be a learning lesson for the team. Babs will get them straightened out... HH
  4. Exactly, so I suggest, after watching these guys for 50 years, that we all slow down, enjoy the the good times, but let's keep our feet on the ground for a bit... HH
  5. When you hit 50 years of watching, you'll understand where I am coming from. I would hate to see my fellow Leaf fans go through what I and other long time fans have been through... and like every other team in the league, we are one injury away for being in the middle of the pack. Andersen goes down and trouble is on the horizon. HH
  6. Ok fellow Leaf fans, I am pretty stoked about our team this year, but having been down this road many times in the past, I am still somewhat reticent to dive head first. They have only played three games and mostly played well in those three. I see folks here getting themselves in a spin about how good they are, well, they haven't won anything yet! Are things much more promising than they have been in the last 50 years, yah, they are. But I think it may be a little early to start planning the parade route just yet. Stay strong and fish on! HH
  7. One tip I can pass along as a result of my buddy FishnSled getting his transom replaced. If your transom has a metal cap on it, I would suggest that you put a rubber gasket between the transom and the cap. It will stop any water from getting under the cap and sitting there, trying to rot your transom. And I would agree with the other poster re the cherry wood... likely to crack from the vibrations of trailer and or motor. At least with plywood, there is glue in place to help hold it all together; and glue is always stronger than wood. HH
  8. So sorry for your loss Cliff... HH
  9. John, with the "Hollis" group, that is now IA, you can avoid many fees if you invest in certain funds that they manage. I've been with them for years. HH
  10. Call the band "Free Beer" and you'll fill the place! HH
  11. I closed the pool last week... gonna be nothing but hot tongue and cold shoulder for me for the next week to come! HH
  12. Dan, I've had both Mustang and Salus jackets. My current jacket is a Salus. If I were to buy again, I would likely go with the Mustang as I have found it to be more comfortable to me and I hate the pockets, or lack there of in the Salus. Perhaps they have changed that in recent models, but the Mustang has pockets that are easy to get to and many more than the Salus. Makes it easier not having to dig in my tackle bag, in the cold. As I have never fallen in, I can't speak to their flotation qualities. HH
  13. Dan, I remember fishing Springbank Dam for Salmon in late August and September. Most years, there was a run of shad so thick, you could walk across the river on their backs. I'm assuming that that musky has followed the shad up the river and has been gorging on them all the way up. I still think the Carp are pretty nervous! HH
  14. I bet the carp are getting pretty scared!!!! LOL HH
  15. TD Centre under ground, entrance off of Wellington is flat $10.00 from 5:30pm to 5:29am week days. Same with weekends. You can then take the "PATH" right to the ACC and you won't need a coat in the winter. HH
  16. Nice to hear from you Gerritt! HH
  17. Thanks for sharing that Dan! I fished that section, well from the forks to Delaware by foot and bike when I was kid, but the dam was always there, in those times. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I sure am! HH
  18. Well Terry, that's something of yours that you haven't broke! Congratulations to you both and I wish you another 40 years of un-broken happiness! HH
  19. So, you are out on the ice and nothings doing... what to do. You could move around looking for the illusive bite or you could do this... http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/manitoba/crokicurl-curling-crokinole-game-forks-winnipeg-1.3953013 Looks like fun to me! HH
  20. I wonder if they'll take the tarps off for the Leaf games... gonna need the seats! HH
  21. I would suggest that you call J&G Marina in Espanola. They service McGregor Bay, which is just north of Killarney. we used them this summer and they were great! Give'm a shout and ask them about camping spots in the area, they will know. The fishing opportunities in McGregor Bay far exceed what's available in the Killarney area as the bay is stuffed with islands and shoals, where the Killarney area has less fishable areas. Also, McGregor Bay can be fished regardless of wind as there are so many islands you hide out and out of the wind. HH
  22. I'm wondering how/if the renegotiation of NAFTA will affect future prices. Canada is bound by NAFTA to supply the US with crude at a price lower than world markets. I wonder how Uncle Donnie is going to react if the Canadian government has the testicles to re-jig that tid bit and use it as leverage with respect to things like softwood lumber and such. HH
  23. I think the real question here should be how long will it take for the prices to go back down to where they should be? I look forward to the litany of piss poor excuses government and industry will spew, keeping prices high well after production in the gulf coast area is back to normal. HH
  24. Yah my heart goes out to all those poor folks. Just a heads up. It might be a good time to fill up all you vehicles and gerry cans as it is expected that this storm will reek havoc on fuel prices. I think the word I heard was the 16% of the U.S. gas supply comes from that region. It will be some time before they are back up producing... HH
  25. Dan, if they see you driving in with that beauty, they may charge you more!!!!!! HH
