  1. Nice to hear from you Gerritt! HH
  2. Thanks for sharing that Dan! I fished that section, well from the forks to Delaware by foot and bike when I was kid, but the dam was always there, in those times. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I sure am! HH
  3. Well Terry, that's something of yours that you haven't broke! Congratulations to you both and I wish you another 40 years of un-broken happiness! HH
  4. So, you are out on the ice and nothings doing... what to do. You could move around looking for the illusive bite or you could do this... http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/manitoba/crokicurl-curling-crokinole-game-forks-winnipeg-1.3953013 Looks like fun to me! HH
  5. I wonder if they'll take the tarps off for the Leaf games... gonna need the seats! HH
  6. I would suggest that you call J&G Marina in Espanola. They service McGregor Bay, which is just north of Killarney. we used them this summer and they were great! Give'm a shout and ask them about camping spots in the area, they will know. The fishing opportunities in McGregor Bay far exceed what's available in the Killarney area as the bay is stuffed with islands and shoals, where the Killarney area has less fishable areas. Also, McGregor Bay can be fished regardless of wind as there are so many islands you hide out and out of the wind. HH
  7. I'm wondering how/if the renegotiation of NAFTA will affect future prices. Canada is bound by NAFTA to supply the US with crude at a price lower than world markets. I wonder how Uncle Donnie is going to react if the Canadian government has the testicles to re-jig that tid bit and use it as leverage with respect to things like softwood lumber and such. HH
  8. I think the real question here should be how long will it take for the prices to go back down to where they should be? I look forward to the litany of piss poor excuses government and industry will spew, keeping prices high well after production in the gulf coast area is back to normal. HH
  9. Yah my heart goes out to all those poor folks. Just a heads up. It might be a good time to fill up all you vehicles and gerry cans as it is expected that this storm will reek havoc on fuel prices. I think the word I heard was the 16% of the U.S. gas supply comes from that region. It will be some time before they are back up producing... HH
  10. Dan, if they see you driving in with that beauty, they may charge you more!!!!!! HH
  11. Dogs and cats are now playing together in the street! I think they must all be blind... HH
  12. My wife and I spent a week there back in the early 90's. Fairly rustic, but they did have a generator that they ran during daylight hours. Fishing there can be tough and has been mentioned, reefs are everywhere! Don't know what happened to the place as we have never gone back. HH
  13. We watched that match last night and I gotta say that it was some of the most entertaining tv we have seen in a long time! Talk about David vs Goliath! So proud of the way this youngster has represented Canada and most likely will continue to do so... unlike a certain young lady who see's herself representing her country as a "burden". HH
  14. You'll never win that argument south of the border pics! HH
  15. Well, I have a vacation report I was going to put up, with pics. Now, I have no idea how I can post the pics, so no report from McGregor Bay from me. If anyone has a recommendation, I'm all ears. I did set up an Imgur account, but I can't figure out how to move the pics from my pc to their web site. I am and will always be, a technical dunce! HH
  16. You forgot the Hickory Chips on the board Art! Gotta mask the taste of the fish when eating the board. HH
  17. Most likely to break something at the worst possible time... Terry! HH
  18. I couldn't watch more than a minute as I could feel my blood pressure rising! The only thing that would have saved that self righteous penis from my full wrath was the fact that there were kids present. Had they not been there, my response to him would have been banned from bookface. HH
  19. Well done MNR! Doubling the fines would be even better!!!! HH
  20. Thanks for this! That's the plan OI! Pike and Musky I am told. Loading up one rod with full floro, well because I can! Again, many thanks to all who took the time to respond, all are much appreciated! HH
  21. Thanks everyone! I have most of what you guys have mentioned, so I am developing a plan of attach. Underlining theme seems to be light line and floro leader. We'll have a bunch of "kids" with us, so my thinking is setting the kids up for any that follow up to the boat (jigs w/ worms, minnows) and me tossing baits to draw them in. Thanks again everyone! HH
  22. Hey folks, I have a trip coming up where I am told, I will find smallies. I don't really fish for them, so I don't have a great deal of experience targeting them. The place we are heading is said to be clear water, with temps in the low 60's. There are tons of bays, reefs etc nearby, so we should have structure to fish. Hoping you good folks could make some suggestions as to lures you would toss at them. I have a few top water baits and an assortment of lures to chose from, but I am wondering what you folks who target them would recommend given the clear water and cooler conditions. All suggestions are appreciated! HH
  23. I'd call that a lead head as a steel head wouldn't have bent. HH
  24. As my friend Bernie would say about sheep head, "if a seagull won't eat it, I sure as h e double hockey sticks won't". HH
