Have a great trip! One of my favourite fishing spots is right near Golden Eagle, actually you will pass right by it.

Favourite comedy show heads south N/F

I must have missed that one! Trailer Park Boys is a different sort of humour again. I'm not a prude, but crap there is a lot of swearing in that. The UK version of the Office has a fair bit of language in it too, I saw a few episodes of it and thought it was really funny but was set back a little with the use of the "F" word. I was sort of surprised at the British openness for what I guess is a primetime TV show. Most of the Brit shows we see over here are a bit older than the Office so the language is not as bold. Glad you enjoyed the Trailer Park movie English. -
I was just wasting some time looking at Corner Gas clips on You Tube and came across a reference to Corner Gas being picked up by WGN Chicago. CTV Release link Clip I like the dry humour the show and the laid back style of Brent. Now if we could get them to do an episode about fishing in Saskatchewan that would be great!

Musky and the Conservation License

LOL, just like Deputy Dawg! Deputy Dawg:- Not to bright deputy sheriff who resided mainly in the jailhouse. Occasionally got the better of his adversaries but by far he ended up getting into trouble. Favourite expressions "Dag nabit" "Cotton pickin pesky" -
There is a Trophy that is at least 20' with a small cabin and twin 120 hp Mercs on it located in Burlington on Queensway Dr. between Guelph Line and Brant St. at a small motel next to the Best Western. It sat covered with tarps for what seems like an eternity, presently it is uncovered but it never moves from it's parking spot. From the appearance, as I'm driving past, I would say the motel owner is the one that has it. There isn't a for sale sign on it but I bet it could be bought if he was approached. Might be an OK boat This sounds like it fits your description of the ideal boat. Just let me know if you want me to check it out for you.

They are a nice well made boat. If you decide to make this purchase I'm sure you will be happy with it. BTW you have a PM...

Nice catch! The big lakes can be dangerous. There has been many times I have gone to Pt. Mait. and turned back because of the conditions. Be careful and don't stray out there when it's blowing. Even if it isn't bad when setting out you really have to keep watch over both shoulders, it can change so fast. You probably made a wise choice when you called it a day.

Something like that lodged in your tract would cause incredible pain for sure! Take it easy for a few days and you'll be back in fighting form once again. All the best to you. -
Good job Dave! I have to get around to say hi one of these days soon. BTW, we were out on the river on Sun. not a thing, had a bight or 2 and caught nothing but a stick. It appears that the eyes have all moved out into the lake.

Not likely a record bass, hard to believe it is that heavy, but it is one big bass

So true! So true! That was good for a morning chuckle

Sorry to hear of your loss. Nice report and pictures, it's great to see that the fish were somewhat cooperative. That is a nice sink of crappies. Looks like Dalrymple is a good place to find them.

As stated about the ice shield and metal valleys. And don't forget the DRIP EDGE! I have been in the window, door and siding business for a long time and I am amazed to see people putting new roofs on and not do everything! I encounter water damage weekly from cheap roofing jobs. Pay the few extra bucks and get it done right.

Boatlaunch: Hwy 12/Atherly Rd. last St. on the right before the bridge that crosses the narrows. Take it and then take an immediate left and follow it to the end there is a gravel shallow boat ramp with limited parking. You can see this ramp from #12 but can't access it directly from the Hwy. The other end of the lake, Washago, has a similar ramp too. Just find the train station and follow that Rd. to the park at the end of the. Sorry I can't be more specific with street names, I just know where to go. Kind of like following my nose to where it takes me. Have a good trip to Couch.

I think it must have happened somewhere in the late 80's and early 90's. I lost interest in fishing around then and got back to it about 5 or 6 years ago. I'm still a pretty low tech guy but have moved up to a fishfinder and once in a while I may even use flourocarbon line as a leader. Call me old fashioned, call me cheap, I don't worry I like to fish and that's all I care. Have fun with your new boat and catch some nice fish so we can all hesr about it.

There is a large rocky area between the 2 islands near Fern, I think the 1st. from the narrows and the 2nd. Drift around in there and you will find bass, perch, sunfish and rockies. Tiny spinners jigged, 2-3" white or yellow twisters jigged, white or opaque tubes with varied coloured specks have done the trick too. And don't forget the worms. Can't help you find pike but they are in couch. Next to the channel buoy near the end of the point that runs out from the narrows is popular also. In Simcoe a popular perch area is just between the channel and the free boat ramp Just look for the boats out there fishing and you will find the spot. Be careful of heavy boat traffic on Couch, especially around the channels and the narrows. It gets busy on the weekend and the big cruisers kick up quite a large wake.

I have a f.glass telescopic from the 1970's that my uncle gave me. I still use it as a back up rod set up and it still works, still catches fish. It's a 6' spinning and I have brought in many 30" pike on 8lb mono with it. BTW, it was not an expensive rod but probably more than some of the cheaper ones I have seen lately. They are popular in Europe and I gather that the selection in Germany is better than what is offered here. At least that is what a German guy told me.

Can't help you much with lure or colour. We fished it a few times and only caught one crappie, a big one though as it was about 11 1/2" long. My wife got it on a yellow twister tail. Be careful of the underwater rocks, they are located off the end of the point and run a long way out from it. I believe there is a drum at the end of them marking the spot if I remember correctly, but maybe by now it has been replaced by a buoy. Also the channel between both Dalrymple lakes is very shallow and has some nasty rocks. Take it slow and bring your motor up for shallow water running. I was told by locals that the eye population is down due to water clarity. Guess zebra mussels have invaded this lake too Hope you get the answers you are searching for.

Yep, but that green glowing hue to his skin looked a little peculiar though. We have had several meals of L. Erie perch this year, one thing I liked was that there was not one grub or worm in any of them. I wish I could say the same for L. Simcoe perch

English that's sad, really sad. While taking a travel and tourism course last year my instructor was trying his best to talk me into setting up a fishing tourism travel business geared to Europeans and Brits. I think he is onto something.
-
You are talking about the water temp. right? If the lake water changed you experienced an inversion, L. Ont. is known for that. One day the water at the beach can be 75, next day 40 something. The lake goes through a total flip, cold comes to the surface and the surface goes to the bottom. At least that what you experienced sounds like. But it does seem kind of sudden.

Just saw your post and caught the very tail end of the show and the credits. Looks like I missed a good one. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello and good morning to everyone! I really don't know why I'm up this early Woke up about 2 hours ago and couldn't get back to sleep so I figured why not play a couple of games on the 'puter and drop into OFC. I think it's going to warm back up again, we had about a week of really great weather with warm days and cool evenings, perfect! But it sure looks like were going back into a humid warm cycle again. Maybe I can make a couple of phone calls this morning and then if nothing is happening with my customer list I'll head out to fish too. Good Day to everyone

Good to hear from you Gary Keep up the high spirits and you'll be back to feeling great sooner than you can get snagged on an underwater tree stump!

Great job! She will never forget the swing that her daddy made for her.
