Pretty much said it like it is Jerseydog. We are regulated and questioned by ridiculous tests far too much. We don't need fish tests to get a license. Responsible fisherfolk know the regs or are at least somewhat familiar with what they say and what a bass or a trout look like. Back in the 70's a $3 fishing license became a requirement, the funds were to go back into the sport. The license was then dropped and nobody was required to buy one. Then a few years or so passed and the existing system came in. The present license seems OK, pay your money and go have fun. It's the asses that poach or disrespect angling that need their asses kicked. I would like to have assurance the the fees we pay do go right back into the sport fishery.

I have the type that are on a set of aluminum slides so the seat can be slid from left to right. They are screwed to the aluminum seat and haven't had a problem yet. Been there since the boat was new in 2005, not that many years true, but they hold my weight so that says something! Link website picture of sure mount seat bracket You can buy these brackets at most marine dealers, some tackle shops and I think BPS has them too.

That was good! Love the ending too.

That's the way mine rests on the bunks too. Or at least very similar to this.
-
kinda looks just like BPS. Nice bunch of pictures, glad to hear you had a good time.

Ahhh the good old days. Sounds like we have grandfathers cut from the same cloth.

Check this page out from Legends website regarding motor upgrades. Legend Upgrade Options The boat you are looking at comes with a Merc 2 stroke 50ELPTO. The upgrades to larger motors or to 4 stroke are in the thousands. And as for the "hidden charges" I was speaking of is mentioned right here, at the page bottom. Xterminator16 Note that the $ amount of the extra charges are not stated. Maybe in the actual paper brochure they are, at least they used to be, in real fine print in the back. Get everything in detail, then compare. I'm not trying to critique Legend, just like some others said, we're only making you aware of how they market their product. Read all the fine print, just like the car ads in the paper, you know the ones advertising the great lease rates and the 0% financing and then you get out the magnifying glass to read the bottom line minuscule print!

That's true Wayne, I wasn't thinking clearly I guess. Either that or my brain is waterlogged! I wouldn't say you were an idiot for leaving the plug in all winter. Now if you forget to put it in when you launch it for the first time after all of this, well, I have no comment.
-
Another thought, before you make your final decision as to which is the best for you, check the fine print on the Legend brochure and with the dealer. Add it all up, every last little detail. Do the same with Lowe. You might find that they are a bit closer in price than what first appears. Legend has lots of extra charges added on at the bottom line. Everything from shipping to hooking up the motor. Clarify the very, very bottom line on both boats, then compare the true price. Best of luck.

I guess you now have one huge live well. Guess the worst that may have happened though is expansion from ice freezing during the winter inside the boat. If you have any new leaks this year you can figure out why, but I hope all is OK.
-
Probably, but then I own a Lowe. Look around at other Lowe dealers for a price comparison. Either that or pay the extra money and get a higher hp motor on the Legend.

That would sure make Red Green proud! Happy to hear you made it to your new boat's new home all safe and sound. Great journal of the events along the way.

I like to do that too! Fun, isn't it? We were going into a furniture store a couple of weeks ago and my wife says to me: "You ever notice how the women walk out of there all smiles and giggly and the guys are all sad and depressed looking?" I said yeah...they are seeing their new boat sail away or their new dream bike crash into a brick wall because she just spent 10 grand on furniture.

Took a little drive around today to see if there were any signs of the soon to come fishing and boating season and took a few pictures. Putting up the seasonal breakwall at LaSalle Park Burlington Docks waiting to be put in Swans near the LaSalle ramp The swans thought I was going to feed them and came swimming over Hamilton Pier 4 ramp A view looking back across the bay to LaSalle Park and LaSalle Towers Apartments through the centre of one of the many steels coil stored near Pier 4. Some of the members from Toronto may recognize this ship? And here is the starboard side of the Haida If I'm lucky my next picture post just might be of some fish!

Same here.

Good job Steve. Nice looking eyes. How are they being netted? Have never seen the ministry do this before. If a chipped fish is caught how can you tell if it has been?
-
Also caught a Mooneye last year on the Grand, above the Dunnville Dam while trolling for Pickerel. Kept going back over the same spot but couldn't find anymore but it lived to be caught again.

Never gambled on line, guess I must be paranoid too then because I have never had trust in it. At least in a brick and mortar casino the gaming commission keeps tabs on the activities. Ontario's gaming rules and regulations for licensed facilities are among the strictest. The licensing background check of staff is second if not higher than that of the nuclear industry. Your fear probably has some merit.

Crap! I just emptied the remainder of the snowblower's gas into the car! The snow should be quick to melt anyway.
