  1. He may be a bit rough around the edges but that is what makes him unique. I enjoy the way he speaks his mind. It's kind of fun to see how many times and how he can finesse a sponsors name into the chatter! Reminds me of Tim Allen's old TV show "Tooltime" Tim would sneak the Binford name in every chance he could. Same as what's his name's show, "This Old House" which Tooltime was a take off, get a sponsors name or label worked into the shot as much as you can. However.... he keeps the catch out of the water for what seems like an eternity but geesh the fish is a TV star! After all it's lucky not to become a shore lunch all coated in his new fish batter. I practice C&R but I do keep some edible fish if I feel I want to, so I don't condemn him for that. Cheers Daryl.
  2. Yeah got me too Thought I was going to see another photshopped bass picture LOL Some nice looking fish...even though it wasn't a 10 pound bass.
  3. I heard a similar story on the news the other day as RHYBAK had said. I can remember the report was saying something about the favourable exchange rate has created an incredible increase in the amount of items being ordered and shipped from the States. This has caused slow delivery of parcels with some orders are backed up in the system for weeks! If you have an order being shipped through Canada Post don't be too surprised if it doesn't arrive on the date expected.
  4. Strange how things happen Lew. Very sorry to hear of your old friend's passing. It is good though that you were able to get in touch with him. Got to agree that life rushes by too fast and then it's gone. Enjoy all you can and ensure the ones you are close to are happy and the ones you don't know too well glad that they had the good fortune to have met you. We all need to be happy, enjoy all life can offer and do plenty of
  5. Congrats Bosc. All that time floating along the river paid off well for you. See you out there again some day.
  6. That is exactly why you need at least one battery operated smoke detector. Get one, even a cheap one for less than 10 bucks.
  7. Wow Glen, WOW, what else could I say! Great report. I was out yesterday too, but I had on a pair of lined jeans, a T shirt covered by a double layered reversible hooded sweat shirt and then covered by what you guys down there would call a winter coat. And it was still a little chilly going along at full throttle. 75 degrees....niiiiccce.
  8. LOL Wayne, you got that right!
  9. Had some time to do a little fishing today and hooked up the boat and off to the Grand. The BBQ ramp has been taped off for repairs and is unusable and all the docks at the other ramps have been pulled out making solo launching a bit of a challenge but I managed just fine. Tried fishing the dam for a while and then trolled down to my usual places. Had a couple of delicate light nibbles but that was all. Guess that what was a sure bet for tackle in the first half of the season just won't do the trick in the fall. There were plenty of minnows jumping out of the water fleeing from bigger fish so at least I had some entertainment. It was a perfect November day with clear skies, light breeze and fairly mild temps so the day was not a complete write off. The water surface temp has started to drop and was down to 50 - 52 degrees. It was just nice to be out there and take it in before winter takes hold of the weather. Good luck to all who are entering the Walleye tournament tomorrow.
  10. You found a way to turn a non paying estimate into something profitable Congratulations! It's always good to figure out a way to do that, the one thing I don't care for is running around the countryside for no pay and giving free estimates when it's my gas, time and wear and tear. Both Lew and you saw this opportunity and lunged for it. Except for the weather it was as close to a perfect day as you could have hoped for...well maybe not so hot for Lew LOL. Next time luck will be on Lew's side.
  11. How do you tell the difference between a Canadian Police Officer, Australian Police Officer, and an American Police Officer? Pose the following question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? CANADIAN POLICE OFFICER Answer: (Immediate thought processes) Is the knife a ceremonial kirpan? Does he prefer to communicate in English or French? Will this negatively impact my chances of promotion? Is this just his way of telling me that he pays my wages, and wants my job? Would this be an appropriate time to hug him and sing Koombaya? Will the media do a profile of him and how he was loved by everyone including his dog? Is the alleged "client" a member of the NDP or an Environmental Group? Is he just a squeegee kid / pan handler trying to make a living on the mean streets? Is he a member of a gang that is just "misunderstood" by society? Is he a recent illegal immigrant to this country, and just doesn't know how to approach the police? Is he recently released on parole and hasn't been properly integrated back into the community? Is he a victim of fetal alcohol syndrome and just doesn't understand what he is doing? Is he a member of the Muslim community or other visible minority group? Warn and Charter him as he approaches. AUSTRALIAN OFFICER Answer: BANG! AMERICAN OFFICER Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click.... (reloading) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! 12. You have a PM Meely. Have fun on your quest for a boat.
  13. I had respect and admiration for Suzuki when I was young. It faded once I entered into adulthood... a long time ago. Only my 2 cent opinion. Maybe he needs to be taken out on a real good fishing trip to set him right A day with Chronzy??
  14. $1426.11, final offer. if he refinishes the teak trim I'll go up to $1497.57 Looks like it was a nice boat once, but so was the SS Minnow (Gilligan's Island)
  15. Looks like a good boat. But your car will never talk to you again now that it is doomed to be out in the cold all winter
  16. Nice You know that stretch of river like the back of your hand.
  17. Interesting....oh yeah, Hi!
  18. Holy Catfish! There are some really big cats in that river. Or are they "Red Neck Trout" Looks like a fun day for all involved.
  19. I really hate to brag and show her off, but you asked for it. But this is the everyday fishing boat we keep at home with Pikehunter Jr. at the tiller. 2005 Lowe 1667T (16', 68" beam) with 2005 Johnson 25hp long, galvanized trailer, custom Topgun cover. And her we are giving her the fall clean up last year. And with the cover on Nothin' fancy, but a solid well made boat that does the job. Sometimes I think that maybe I should have bought a used larger console model with more power, but I wanted new at the time and it has worked out very well for us and I am happy that I did go this route when I purchased it.
  20. Sounds like Gerritt has a good idea. Or... If lucky you may be able to find a truck delivering a load of cement to a job near you and they might throw in an extra yard and drop it off for a price. Used to be able to do that, don't know about that these days. Now if somebody in the Hammy area on the board drives a cement truck...perfect!
  21. A meal fit for a king. Looks good, thanks for making me hungry...again.
  22. Wow! Scary ride! Glad to hear that you are all well after the incident. Yuma is a dry dusty town, at least for the couple of days we stayed there back in the winter of 1989/90. I believe it's one of the warmest places in Arizona during the winter. We were there right around the time that there was a big gem show happening. Have a good time down south and post some pictures of your adventures.
  23. I feel sorry for all OFC'rs. As if things weren't bad enough having to put up with me around here now you have JR. to put up with too! Have a good time hangin' out here kiddo, they are a good bunch of folks here. Just keep the controversial opinions under your hat....something I don't always do but try my best to achieve. (Honestly I really try to.) But seriously, welcome aboard.
  24. Thanks for the laugh.
