Bridgewater Bank or Bridgewater Financial in Calgary is decent to deal with.

That you Glen? Didn't recognize you with a coat on.

Too many big white buckets and mesh bags hanging off the sides if boats. In my opinion it should be shut down completely for 2 years and give the entire lake a chance to revive itself. Others disagree but that is just my opinion. Back in the 70's when I was in my teens it was a great bass lake.

Ontario Energy....bunch of scammers
pikehunter replied to fishing n autograph's topic in General Discussion
Actually I believe you have 10 days to cancel a contract that is signed away from a place of business. At least that is the way it is for the home improvement industry in Ontario. With that said you didn't hear it from me I had a customer a couple of months ago that signed a contract with a competitor window company, they took it right down to the last day as nobody from the other company would speak to them on the phone nor would the sales manager return their calls, I checked it out for them and they were able to get out of it by giving written notice via fax machine as long as the date, time and verification was in writing. Needless to say I got the deal, an entire house full of windows! Remember, it is only out of politeness that you answer your door, there is no law that states you have to. You don't know who is there or you know it is someone you don't wish to converse with then don't answer. You learned a lesson, never ever show your hydro, gas or anything to anyone! Good luck getting out of it. I had a he11 of a time getting my parents out of the same situation. -
Yeah, I like that, what about the poor schlep sales person on the floor trying to make a living and pushing the warranties, he doesn't get a dime of it added on to his/her 9 buck an hour pay.

Great lookin' pooch! What's he lookin' at on that wicker chair?

Commit a crime and get to spend your next 6 or 7 winters in sunny south Florida at an all inclusive establishment! Such a deal, think I better go out and take a Chicago widow to the cleaners for all she's got, then fight it in court and join Conny in Fla. Why don't they have a prison in the arctic?

$1450.00 would probably be what a fairly major repair would cost anyhow. If you have that in cash to pay for the extended warranty why not just bank it or invest it somehow and wait and see. Or take the $$$$ and buy some really neat fishing gear! Not only that but is there a deductible charge? Secondly if you are borrowing the money for an extended warranty where is the value in that? Third doesn't a 4 stroke Merc have a pretty good manufacturers warranty to begin with? Most consumer groups advise against extended warranties. Dealers make as much or more on warranty sales as they do on the product. Why do you think TV's and appliances are so cheap these days? Very little warranty so the store sells them cheap and then depends on the sale of ext. warranties to make their margins. Sears (used to at least) judge their sales staff by how many ext. war. they could sell, don't sell your quota of them and out the door you go! It's up to you to decide and then live with it. If you have no faith in your decision to buy that motor then go for it. Everytime I'm given that offer I ask the sales guy why would he offer me this? Don't you have faith in what you're selling? Or are you selling me crap?

Looked on their website and couldn't find any models with an S/C in it's designation. Maybe a model not currently offered

My wife can verify these findings. She worked at a Holiday Inn, you know the one, it's in between Oakville and Hamilton on the QEW. Same things happened there. As a matter of fact she was instructed to follow such unsanitary procedures. That was about 16 years ago though. Rules: Never drink from the hotel glass cups Never walk barefoot on the carpet Don't place bare skin next to the bedspread/comforter or the blanket that is on your bed the top sheet from the night before becomes the bottom sheet the next night when room guests Leave and new ones come in Never use the room's coffee pot Always assume that the same cloth was used to clean the toilet as was used to clean the sink and counter top, just as likely that the toilet was cleaned with it first The wrapped disposable plastic cups are safer to drink from Remember that the cleaning people are on a very tight schedule, any corner that they can cut will be cut. Sometimes it is the workers fault and sometimes it's on management's insistence. She saw some really disgusting practices while working there and was told by supervisors to do it this way or that. She quit after several weeks, couldn't take it anymore. I dislike staying in motels/hotels, I'd rather sleep on the ground in a tent in my own sleeping bag and on my own piece of foam padding.

It's too bad we haven't stronger sentences. The death penalty, if we had it, would not be enough for this scum bucket. And it's really too bad that his fellow inmates will probably be kept away from him. Wish that the inmates of Bernardo and Carla would have had a couple of hours alone with them, a few clubs, a couple of baseball bats and some cattle prods. Maybe some of the score could have been evened up. Bloody liberal pussy assed laws we have in this country.

Double bad news, very sorry to hear. Hold it together the best you can to offer as much support as you can muster. Pretty tough losing anyone at this time of year. Have faith and all the best to you and the family close to the loved ones.

Skeeter nailed it. Doesn't matter if you find a commercial funny, sexy, appealing or irritating. They grabbed your attention and you remember the product being pitched. I found the commercial funny and I enjoy a comical advertisement. My favourite are the older Casino Rama ads. Remember the controversy recently over the Hyundai commercial where the female cop pulls the guy over and _ _ _ _ _ _ the guy and tosses out the ticket? Great ad and it got so much attention it was taken off the air. I think a lot of people need to lighten up. Some programing is so bad these days that commercials are the highlight!

So I just Googled it and found this: Jeep Commercial

Aluminum Boat Hulls - Welded Versus Rivets
pikehunter replied to fishinggeek's topic in General Discussion
You're going to get lots and lots of opinions in answer to your question. A few years ago I had a 12' tinny, 1960 Arkansas Traveler with a welded hull and it never leaked a drop of water! Imagine, a 40+ year old boat that didn't leak! I now have a riveted Lowe tinny bought new in 2005. Knock on wood, no leaks yet. As Lew said, take your pick as both are pretty well made these days. Well maybe most are but recent issues regarding Tracker may be something to think about. -
I think the 2 cops had a lot of balls to even think of charging you in the first place.....or were they just nuts? 20,000 comedians out of work and us OFC'rs are trying to break into the business. Guess were all nuts! Glad to hear that the cops came to their senses

Yes it is very difficult to have very much faith in the system if any at all. The innocent get charged, the guilty stay free to pursue what they wish while the innocent are left hanging in limbo. If you have ever been charged wrongly you will agree that you are "guilty until proven innocent" and not the other way around. So if wrongly charged then that hangs over you and the feeling of helplessness lasts until at least the charge is withdrawn and as said, the financial cost one bears. Sometimes these results live with you for a lifetime. I guess that our system isn't perfect but then which one is?

I wish you the best of luck with Tracker, however you have to face the fact of that you will likely be responsible for the repair and pay for it out of your own pocket, after all you bought a used product. Chances are the boat was sold because of this problem and you are the recipient of this misfortune. You cannot hold Tracker liable for this repair because it is stated in print that the warranty must be transferred to your name within 60 days, no ifs buts or maybes. I agree it is not good for you and you do whatever you can to get them to pay up however 60 days should be enough time to read all the fine print and ensure that you comply correctly. Remember business is built on the belief that most items are held onto for about 5 years then sold and then they are generally off the hook as far as warranties. If Tracker does come through for you great! but chances are that Wayne is going to have another boat to fix before next the fishing season. Next time buy new, there are reasons why used is cheaper.

Very sorry to hear of the bad news Gary. You can be assured that yes, she is in peace. My best wishes to you, your family and your Mothers friends.

Sounds like you're being victimized twice. I hope it all works out well for you. Strange how some things happen.
