  1. I have an Ugly Stick Light. It's OK, no problems. LeBaron's price is good, it matches up well with a Mitchel 300X reel. I can remember when the Ugly Stick first came out, back then it cost around 90 bucks! And that was in 1970's dollars.
  2. That is so true! And this is the reason we have had so many trips to Florida. We usually looked at the cost of going North and staying at a camp, the black flies, mosquitoes, musty cabins, weather that is unpredictable, lack of some luxuries such as air conditioning TV channels taking our own bedding and other small things like that and figured for that kind of money we might as well go south. Or we would just pitch the tent at a camping resort with the indoor pool, hot tub and nearby beach. Even when the exchange rate was at 40% Fla. was still a viable vacation option. I feel sorry for the Ontario lodge operators having to make it work with such short seasons but then I figured well let them take the American tourists for every penny they can and we'll go elsewhere. No offense intended to my US friends and family but...
  3. Ulnar Nerve compression, this nerve serves the 2 smaller fingers. There are many links to this problem. Seek your Doc's. advise and here is a link. Ulnar Nerve Another Cubital Beside having severe Carpel Tunnel in both hands, compression of the Median Nerve I also share the Ulnar Nerve problem with you. I just live with it as I am fed up with the medical professions solutions for Carpel Tunnel and can't be bothered with seeking their help. I wish you well with it.

  5. Can I relate to this? Yep. Happy New Year to all.
  6. Wow! How many ski doo's do you need to get all that gear out out there? Never been ice fishing myself. Sounds like I need to do more than just slip on a pair of boots and long johns if I decide to give it a try eh? Better safe than sorry I suppose.
  7. Had one of my first cars and if memory serves correct I ruined a brand new pair of corduroy pants my mother had just given me for Christmas from leaking car battery acid. Spent some of Christmas day at what was to become my future first wifes house. I should have opened my eyes and read all the signs that day and ran for the hills! If we only had insight into the future we would never make mistakes
  8. Seen that car on TV before. Great idea! Too bad they are not available in a market like Toronto, they would sell so many of them that you'd be rich if you had the dealership....anyone want to partner up? But then of course the government would find all kinds of ways to add taxes onto them that they would cost double the price at 24 grand! At 12 g's most could afford one of them as a second car. If we could get an insurance, tax break and free license plates that would be fantastic! What an incentive that would be! Zenn company website
  9. Fantastic Christmas present Gary See, there is a Santa and he was listening. Congratulations on the best present you could ever receive! In no time at all you will be doing lots of Have a great Christmas
  10. It's nasty out now. It got real nice and sunny this afternoon and I heard the wind gusting and blowing so I looked out and the spruce tree out in the back corner of my backyard was swaying like crazy. Looked at the thermometer and the temp had dropped to the mid 30's. Wife says that her car needs gas and I knew my van was on "E" so off to the gas station we went. 101.7 at Pioneer in the Hammer. $81 more on my debit card soon to be overdrawn ounce again But what ya gonna do It was trying to snow on the way to the gas station. Wife said the weather network is calling for snow tonight and the full red warning screen on the TV was up. You're right Lew, it's time hunker down.
  11. Merry Christmas
  12. Have a great holiday and all the best to you and your family in 2008.

  19. :clapping: :thumbsup_anim: Thank you Thank you Thank you.....the weather forecast is for rain and above freezing temps for the next few days! See what happens when you buy a snowblower, now get down to the mall and buy yourself an umbrella so the sun will come out and we won't have to worry about the rain
  20. Nice job
  21. It's too bad though that you couldn't find the one you really wanted. But regardless you had fun! Tim Allen (Tooltime) had better watch out! After putting that machine together you're going to be setting your sights on a new do-it-yourself TV show. Congratulations on getting her done.
  22. Don't know 'bout the small one John, I just watched my neighbour walk his new 8HP through the 3' high bank left behind by the snowplow. With my little Crappy Tire 5 hp it was a struggle to do mine and he is 70 years old and just had heart surgery a couple of months ago, so a larger machine is not harder to maneuver. Still say a little bigger is always better. I have used both and given the choice the bigger one 'cause it doesn't bog down so easily, the tires are bigger and that helps again don't worry about the weight factor after all the blower does most of the work anyway. Whatever you buy look out for the sales, I have seen the 5Hp anywhere from $450 to almost $800. Just depends on the store and the sale of the week. You may be happy with the 5 but I just speak from my own experiences from the past 30 or so years of using a blower.
  23. Buy the largest HP that you can afford, you won't be sorry. I have an old Crappie Tire 5HP 23" wide that my brother in law gave me last year. It works yes, it does move snow yes, do I think a bigger one would be better? YES! Buy at least an 8HP, my father bought an 8HP years ago when he did a retrofitting of the Roper plant years and years ago and he got a deal on it. It has a Tecumseh engine and it puts my 5Hp to shame. It can literally blow it off the sidewalk. I can't believe the difference after using mine on my driveway and then go to my mother's and use that one. Biiiig difference. Buy the big one, like they say bigger is better.
  24. LOL, not too many holes to be drilled down in your neck of the woods is there? A drill would get awful rusty waiting for the ice to form.
  25. In best interest for the species once a limit has been reached and been kept then I feel that it is time to either pack the poles away or change strategies. So now he catches one and it has been injured beyond survival, now what? Put it in the well and hope that one of the ones culled will survive a release? I suppose that is the answer but I feel it is not the way to do it. Just my 1.9734 US cents worth
